As a developing country with large population, China is facing the problems of energy resource shortage and growing environmental pollution arising from the coal-dominated energy structure. Biomass energy, as a kind of renewable energy with the characteristics of being easy to store and friendly to environment, has become the focus of China’s energy development in the future. Affected by the advanced power generation technology and diversified geography environment, the biomass power generation projects show new features in recent years. Hence, it is necessary to evaluate the efficiency of biomass power generation industry by employing proper method with the consideration of new features. In this paper, the regional difference as a new feature of biomass power generation industry is taken into consideration, and the AR model is employed to modify the zero-weight issue when using data envelopment analysis (DEA) method to evaluate the efficiency of biomass power generation industry. 30 biomass power generation enterprises in China are selected as the sample, and the efficiency evaluation is performed. The result can provide some insights into the sustainable development of biomass power generation industry in China.

This study adopted analytical hierarchical process (AHP) to evaluate the significance of the criterion of policy regarding promoting biomass energy, taking environmental social groups’ points of view into consideration. The analytical results of the study are as follows. The experts from environmental social groups suggested that the most important major criteria are in the order as follows: policy criterion layer, technical criterion layer, economy criterion layer, and energy education criterion layer. As for the global weights of the criteria, the criteria with top five weights are in the order as follows: “active development of green energy industry by government”, “supply and consumption method of low-carbon and low-pollution energy”, “increase of percentage of power generation from renewable energy in total power supply”, “encourage manufacturers to develop new biomass power generation technology”, and “continually develop the technology projects which has potential and prospects in the future”.

In India the electricity demand is growing rapidly day by day due to various increasing residential, official and organizational buildings which requires more power. Electricity generation system is dominated by a hybrid renewable energy resources like wind and solar, approximately 35% from 2007 to till now, still power shutdown is applied compulsory by the Indian Government. In order to improve the amount of power generation to 100% with increased thermal, fossil-fueled, and bio-gas power generation is converted into complete solar, wind and thermal including peaking options. In order to fulfil the demand, the wind capacity is increased from 35% into 100% by incorporating solar and thermal. Incorporating various energy systems into stand alone power grid, the highest power demand can be fulfilled. This paper applied an application for mixing various energy resource for increasing the power generation and production.

Biomass is an important energy material, which can be used for power generation in large scale after briquetting. In the paper, the briquetting methods such as biomass cold briquetting, thermal briquetting and common briquetting as well as biomass briquetting machines of ring die, flat die, piston and screw type were firstly presented. Combined with biomass briquetting fuel technology and biomass power generation technology, the characteristics of biomass briquetting fuel direct combustion power generation, co-firing power generation and gasification and power generation technologies were elaborated. Finally, there was an outlook for the development prospect of such energy materials and its power generation technology in China. A conclusion to their economic, environmental and social benefits were gotten, which provides a certain reference for comprehensive application of biomass resource with high efficiency.

Electrical power generation by means of renewable energy resources are more common now a days. In this method we used biomass energy to generate electrical power. We used a renewable energy resource of several reasons. Some of Reasons are increasing the usage of power, available resources are not satisfying the demand, urbanization. Biomass is a greenhouse gas. It does not cause any harmfull effects to the environment. On decomposing biomass we get electricity. The method we used is pyrolysis.

This study aimed to explore the impact of the interaction between stakeholders in the sustainable development of the biomass industry and to reveal network issues relating to material flow and information flow under the current biomass energy development model. This study focused on the agriculture and forestry waste power generation industry. Taking the biomass industry in Nanjing, Suqian, and Yancheng as examples, the study selected six stakeholder groups involved in the industry and conducted field investigations by using semi-open interviews and questionnaires. The research mainly applied social network analysis methods, combined with UCINET software, to draw a network diagram of the stakeholder relationships and to quantitatively analyze stakeholder centrality and overall network density. The results revealed that (1) the biomass enterprises had the highest centrality in the overall network, which played a vital role in the construction of the overall network; (2) the farmers were positioned at the outer fringes of the industrial social network and their information acquisition capabilities and degree of control over the network were the lowest; and (3) the overall network density was low, which showed that the connections between stakeholders were not close enough to support the circulation of material and information in the overall network.

Pakistan is a developing country that is experiencing a shortage of electricity generation due to its rapidly growing demand. The existing and upcoming energy requirements for power generation and future transportation can be met by efficient utilisation of homegrown biomass resources. Determining the present energy mix resources in various sectors of the country is important. This article analyses the biomass resources and their potential and bioenergy utilisation in Pakistan. An overview of the global renewable energy scenario is presented. This article accentuates the importance and challenges of new technologies and estimates the current and future share of power generation from renewable sources, focusing on the technical potential of biomass energy, which is obtained from agricultural residues, animal manure and municipal solid wastes in Pakistan. This paper highlights the developing technologies that are primarily used to convert biomass waste into energy and presents a critical consideration on future directions in drafting the bioenergy framework policy in Pakistan. For effective implementation of biomass-based renewable energy production in the country, this paper presents an extensive literature review on current and future perspectives and suggestions on future directions and policies to overcome the deficit in electricity supply and environmental concerns. Furthermore, this paper discusses the utilisation of biomass resources in the rapidly growing transportation sector and presents a solution for upcoming mass transit projects in two major cities in Pakistan. The conclusion is that biomass energy is the most sustainable, eco-friendly and efficient renewable energy and is an emerging renewable energy resource that can meet the growing energy demand in Pakistan.

Subject. The article discusses limited sources of energy nowadays and an ongoing survey of new ones. I focus on fuel and energy complexes worldwide and in Russia. Objectives. The study is to analyze the future use of alternative energy sources in the fuel and energy complex nationwide and worldwide. I review the existing energy sources of the fuel and energy complex in the global and regional markets, specifically the alternative ones. Methods. The study relies upon methods of statistics, analysis and systems approach. Results. The article demonstrates that the fuel and energy complex strongly depends on the current situation in the energy resource market, which is difficult to forecast. If we continue relying on traditional energy resources, we get exposed to some risks affecting the sustainable development of the economy. Russia should diversify the power engineering sector by developing alternative energy sources. The article sets forth the economic rationale for alternative sources and key steps Russia shall make. Conclusions and Relevance. Considering the current situation in the energy balance, alternative energy is what any advanced society seeks for, being supported by manufacturers, governmental institutions, and researchers, though low profitability and high infrastructure costs impede its development. In Russia, these challenges are even more palpable. However, even now Russia is able to find alternative energy solutions. In addition to advantages of alternative energy, which is globally proclaimed, they will also help Russia diversify and update the economic system.
