Invention of new methods in strengthening concrete is under work for decades. Developing countries like India use the extensive reinforced construction works materials such as fly ash and bottom ash and other ingredients in RCC construction. In the construction industry, major attention has been devoted to the use of fly ash and bottom ash as cement and fine aggregate replacements. In addition, light expanded clay aggregate has been introduced instead of coarse aggregate to make concrete have light weight. This paper presents the results of a real-time work carried out to form light weight concrete made with fly ash, bottom ash, and light expanded clay aggregate as mineral admixtures. Experimental investigation on concrete mix M20is done by replacement of cement with fly ash, fine aggregate with bottom ash, and coarse aggregate with light expanded clay aggregate at the rates of 5%, 10%, 15%, 20%, 25%, 30%, and 35% in each mix and their compressive strength and split tensile strength of concrete were discussed for 7, 28, and 56 days and flexural strength has been discussed for 7, 28, and 56 days depending on the optimum dosage of replacement in compressive strength and split tensile strength of concrete.

Concrete is a widely used material in all construction work. The aim of the project is to study the behavior of concrete with replacement of E waste. The fine aggregate and coarse aggregate are naturally available due to increase in demand it is over exploited. The waste utilization is sustainable solution to environmental problems Waste from electric and electronic equipment is used as an E waste replacement for coarse aggregate in concrete which is used in the construction .Therefore the effects have been made to study the use of E waste components as a partial replacement of coarse aggregate in 5%, 10% and 15%. To determine the optimum percentage of E waste that can be replaced for coarse aggregate the compressive strength and split tensile strength of concrete to be studied. After determining the optimum percentage of E waste that can be replaced with coarse aggregate. This paper investigates the effect of sintered fly ash lightweight aggregate as coarse aggregate substitution on the mechanical properties of concrete. The lightweight aggregate (LWA) was produced using the cold bonded method and then sintered at a temperature of 900°C. An alkaliactivated system was applied as a binding agent of the LWA. Fly ash was used as precursor while sodium hydroxide and sodium silicate were employed as alkali activators. Three variations of the LWA dosage were performed, which were 0%, 50%, and 100 % of the volume of coarse aggregate in the concrete mixture. The mechanical properties of the concrete investigated in this research are the compressive strength and split tensile strength. The result showed that the mechanical properties of the concrete slightly decrease along with the increased dosage of the LWA in the mixture. However, employing sintered fly ash the LWA is proven as an effective solution in reducing the concrete density without sacrificing its strength.

Abstract The use of the mountain seal used as a building block for concrete should be considered, based on current usage apart from being a light construction material for housing, mountain materials from these two places are used as the main aggregate material for building construction, water structures (dams), roads. and bridges located in the surrounding Malang-Kota Batu area To determine the size of the aggregate, the coarse aggregate is sieved using a vibrating sieve, while the fine aggregate is sieved by a hydraulic sieve. In the screening process, about 70% of the filtered must pass so that high efficiency and capacity can be achieved. The compressive strength test results obtained the average compressive strength value at 28 days of concrete for concrete with fine aggregate sand zone III and coarse aggregate (gravel) in the Batu City area is equivalent to 35.65 MPa. The results of the split tensile strength test showed that the average split strength value at the age of 28 days for concrete with fine aggregate sand zone III and coarse aggregate (gravel) in the Kota Batu area is equivalent to 2.51 MPa. The compressive strength value for normal concrete is 35.65 MPa, it should produce split tensile strength = 4.179 MPa according to the provisions of SNI T-15-1991-03 Article 3.2.5 (fr = 0.70√fc '). Even though the split tensile strength value obtained in the laboratory is only 2.51 MPa, this means that the quality of materials (sand and broken stone) from Batu City is not suitable for use as building materials. Because the number 2.51 MPa is relatively much smaller than the value of 4.179 MPa, it is only one of the factors outlined in the SNI T-15-1991-03 article 3.2.5. Abstract. Light-weight structures are widely used in the construction field. Light-weight fillers such as aggregates can be used to improve weightless structures. Generally, standard aggregates cannot be used to attain the desired weight for light-weight structures. To determine a light-weight filler, the aggregates are made by using fly-ash along with cement mortar. Fly ash was collected from the Mettur Thermal power plant. Cement and fly-ash were mixed in a concrete mixer in a proportion of 30:70 with a water-cement ratio of 0.3 and it is mixed until the pellets are formed. The aggregates are replaced at different percentages such as 0%, 10%, 20%, and 30% respectively to the coarse aggregate. The properties such as compressive strength, split tensile strength and flexural strength were taken. The maximum strength was attained at 30% of fly-ash aggregate with a compressive strength of 46.47 N/mm2, split tensile strength of 14.85 N/mm2 and flexural strength of 3.80 N/mm2.

The properties of concrete containing coarse recycled aggregates were investigated. Laboratory trials were conducted to investigate the possibility of using recycled aggregates from the demolition wastes available locally as the replacement of natural coarse aggregates in concrete. A series of tests were carried out to determine the density, compressive strength, split tensile strength, flexural strength and modulus of elasticity of concrete with and without recycled aggregates. The water cement ratio was kept constant for all the mixes. The coarse aggregate in concrete was replaced with 0%, 20%, 40%, 60%, 80% and 100% recycled coarse aggregates. The test results indicated that the replacement of natural coarse aggregates by recycled aggregates up to 40% had little effect on the compressive strength, but higher levels of replacement reduced the compressive strength. A replacement level of 100% causes a reduction of 28% in compressive strength, 36% in split tensile strength and 50% in flexural strength. For strength characteristics, the results showed a gradual decrease in compressive strength, split tensile strength, flexural strength and modulus of elasticity as the percentage of recycled aggregate used in the specimens increased. 100% replacement of natural coarse aggregate by recycled aggregate resulted in 43% savings in the cost of coarse aggregates and 9% savings in the cost of concrete.

Title: The Effect of Using Mediteran Soil as Cement Substitution Materials in Compressive Strength and Tensile Strength of Concrete Concrete is a composite material (mixture) of cement, fine aggregate, coarse aggregate, and water. The potential of limestone in Indonesia is very large, reaching 28.678 billion tons which is the main ingredient in the cement manufacture. In the long run it will be depleted because it is a non-renewable natural resources. So to reduce the use of limestone the utilization of Mediteran soil as a substitution for some cement in the manufacture of concrete is required. The initial idea is based on the chemical composition contained in the Mediteran soil almost identical to the cement, which is carbonate (CaO) and silica (SiO2). The purpose of this research is to reveal the influence of substitution of Mediteran soil by 20% and 40% in the compressive strength and tensile of the concrete at age 3, 7, 14, and 28 days with the number of test specimen each 3 pieces on each variation in 10cm x20cm cylinder with planning of concrete mixture refers to SK SNI method T-15-1900-03. The type of research used is quantitative with the experimental method of laboratory test and data analysis of comparative method and regression. The results show that compressive strength and tensile strength of concrete using Mediteran soil substitution comparable to  the strength of normal concrete with dry treatment. In the composition of 20% Mediteran soils decreased by 51.35% or 7.9 MPa (compressive strength) and 30.60% or 0.93 MPa (tensile strength). While the composition of 40% Mediteran soil decreased by 43.78% or 9.13 MPa (compressive strength) and 2.24% or 1.31 MPa (tensile strength).

This experimental study presents the properties of highperformance concrete (HPC) made by partially replacing type I Portland cement (OPC) with class C fly ash (CFA). The purpose of this study is to examine, with hydration time, the development of the compressive strength, the splitting tensile strength and the permeability of HPC utilizing different quantity of CFA. Four HPC mixtures, C1, C2, C3, and C4, were made by utilizing respectively 10%, 20%, 30% and 40% of CFA as replacement of OPC, by weight. One control mixture, C0, was made with 0% CFA. The mix proportion of HPC was 1.00 binder: 1.67 fine aggregate: 2.15 coarse aggregate with water to binder ratio 0.32. In each mixture, it was added 5% silica fume and 0.6% superplasticizer of the weight of the binder. Tests of HPC properties were realized at the age of 1, 3, 7, 28, and 90 days. The results indicate that CFA used to partially replace OPC in HPC shows adequate cementitious and pozzolanic properties. The compressive strength and the splitting tensile strength of HPC increase while the permeability coefficient decreases with increasing hydration time. It is found that the optimum replacement of OPC with CFA is 10%, however the replacement up to 20% is still acceptable to produce HPC having practically similar harden properties with control mixture. At this optimum replacement and after 90 days of hydration, the compressive strength, the splitting tensile strength and the permeability coefficient can reach 68.9 MPa, 8.3 MPa and 4.6 E-11 cm/sec respectively. These results are 109%, 101%, and 48% respectively of those of control mixture.

Abstract: As the demand for the structural members application in the concrete industry is continuously increasing simultaneously many a times it is required to lower the density of concrete enabling light weight which helps in easy handling of the concrete and its members. In this research an experimental endeavour has been made to equate conventional concrete with light weight by partially substituting the coarse aggregate with the pumice stone aggregate in M30 grade mix design. Simultaneously small fibres of Recron3's Polypropylene have been applied to the concrete as a reinforcing medium to minimize shrinkage cracking and improve tensile properties. The coarse aggregate was substituted by the pumice aggregate in 10, 20, 30, 40, and 50 percent and fibres respectively in 0.5, 1, 1.5, 2 and 2.5 percent. The experiment is focused on strength parameters to determine the most favourable optimum percent with respect to conventional concrete. The purpose of this research is to know the effectiveness of fly ash waste in marine concrete related to the average compressive strength to be used as a substitute for cement. The test is done for concrete base material, namely: coarse aggregate (gravel), fine aggregate (sand), fly ash, cement (PC = Portland Cement), water and additional material (superplasticizer). 10 cylinders were given each treatment with (0 %, 10 %, 20 %, 25 %) percentage of fly ash addition. The samples then soaked for 26 days in seawater. At 28th day, the sample was subjected to a compression test. Based on the results of analysis and discussion, then obtained: (1) The use of 10% fly ash amount will produce the biggest compressive strength  =  65.84 MPa; (2) When compared with the average compressive strength, the sample without using fly ash (0 %) has compressive power 62.02 MPa and 6.16 % increase in average compressive strength on the addition of 10 % fly ash 65.84 MPa, but in addition to 20 % fly ash there was a decrease of 9.13 % (56.36 MPa) and in addition of 25 % fly ash the average compressive strength decrease to 22.49 % (48.07 MPa).
