Compared with single consensus, the multiconsensus of multiagent systems with nonlinear dynamics can reflect some real-world cases. This paper proposes a novel distributed law based only on intermittent relative information to achieve the multiconsensus. By constructing an appropriate Lyapunov function, sufficient conditions on control parameters are derived to undertake the reliability of closed-loop dynamics. Ultimately, the availability of results is completely validated by these numerical examples.

Compared with the traditional multi-agent models, the hierarchical leader–follower network (HLFN) can describe some real-world multi-agent systems more precisely due to its layered properties. The distributed event-based consensus control problem of HLFNs with layer-to-layer delays, namely, communication delays among agents of different layers, is presented in this essay. In order to solve the aforementioned problem, several innovative hierarchical event-based control (HEC) algorithms are proposed. The sufficient conditions on the control parameters and event-triggered mechanism were derived to undertake the reliability of the closed-loop dynamics. Moreover, it is shown that the zeno-behaviors of the presented HEC algorithms can be excluded. Finally, there are some numerical examples that verify the availability of the results.

We study a single-species periodic logistic type dispersal system in a patchy environment with impulses. On the basis of inequality estimation technique, sufficient conditions of integrable form for the permanence and extinction of the system are obtained. By constructing an appropriate Lyapunov function, conditions for the existence of a unique globally attractively positive periodic solution are also established. Numerical examples are shown to verify the validity of our results and to further discuss the model.

In this paper the problem of decentralized switching control of a platoon of vehicles in the presence of heterogeneous time-varying communication and parasitic delays is investigated. A neighbor-based linear decentralized controller using the relative measurements is considered for each vehicle. The communication structure of the platoon is assumed to be time-varying. Therefore, the closed-loop dynamics of the platoon is in the form of switched linear multiple-delay systems. Compared to previous research, the communication structure of the platoon is assumed to be general. A safe and dense spacing policy is used to adjust inter-vehicle distances. The internal stability analysis of the platoon is done by employing Lyapunov–Razumikhin and Lyapunov–Krasovskii theorems. Afterwards, some conditions on control parameters assuring string stability are obtained by introducing a new theorem. Simulation studies are carried out to show the effectiveness of the proposed methods.

The cluster synchronization of linearly coupled complex networks with identical and nonidentical nodes is studied. Without assuming symmetry, we proved that these linearly coupled complex networks could achieve cluster synchronization under certain pinning control schemes. Sufficient conditions guaranteeing cluster synchronization for any initial values are derived by using Lyapunov function methods. Moreover, the adaptive feedback algorithms are proposed to adjust the control strength. Several numerical examples are given to illustrate our theoretical results.

This paper investigates the consensus problem for multiagent systems with nonlinear dynamics and time delays. A distributed adaptive consensus protocol is proposed in which the time delays are explicitly included in the adaptive algorithm. It is shown that the resultant closed loop system involves doubly larger time delays, making the stability analysis nontrivial. Stability condition on maximum tolerable time delay is established and controlled by the proposed two-hop adaptive algorithm. The explicit expression of the delay margin is derived and analyzed in the frequency domain. Both the agent state errors and the estimation parameter errors converge to zero. A simulation example is illustrated to verify the theory results.

We study a two-patch impulsive migration periodicN-species Lotka-Volterra competitive system. Based on analysis method, inequality estimation, and Lyapunov function method, sufficient conditions for the permanence and existence of a unique globally stable positive periodic solution of the system are established. Some numerical examples are shown to verify our results and discuss the model further.

Based on using suitable Lyapunov function and the properties ofM-matrix, sufficient conditions for complete synchronization of bidirectional coupled nonautonomous Cohen-Grossberg neural networks are obtained. The methods for discussing synchronization avoid complicated error system of Cohen-Grossberg neural networks. Two numerical examples are given to show the effectiveness of the proposed synchronization method.

A recent research indicated that the corticocortical connectivity network of the cat possesses cluster structure and that each cluster in the network is scale-free and has a most connected hub. Motivated by that research, we slightly modify the network model and derive sufficient conditions for cluster synchronization of the modified network based on Lyapunov function method. The obtained results indicate that cluster synchronization can be induced by the hubs of the scale-free networks. In our opinion, the concept of hub-induced synchronization provides a better understanding of cluster synchronization in scale-free networks. Numerical examples are provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the theoretical results.

For second-order and high-order dynamic multiagent systems with multiple leaders, the coordination schemes that all the follower agents flock to the polytope region formed by multiple leaders are considered. Necessary and sufficient conditions which the follower agents can enter the polytope region by the leaders are obtained. Finally, numerical examples are given to illustrate our theoretical results.

The asymptotical and practical stability in probability of stochastic control systems by means of feedback laws is provided. The main results of this work enable us to derive the sufficient conditions for the existence of control Lyapunov function that play a leading role in the existence of stabilizing feedback laws. Particularly, the sufficient conditions for practical stability in probability are established and numerical examples are also given to illustrate the usefulness of our results.
