With the formation of global economic integration for better exchange and cooperation with nations around the world, mastering English is extremely essential. In the context of today’s big era with a variety of English learning methods, it is required that data mining be applied to online English education. Owing to the continuous application of data mining techniques and the improvement of the online learning system, its application in education is also more and more prevalent. In the face of a large amount of learning data and student behavior data, the traditional methods have the problems of low processing efficiency, more memory requirements, and large prediction error. Therefore, this paper proposes a student behavior analysis method of online English education based on data mining. The student behavior data is collected, and an online English education learning behavior model is established. The data mining model is built to filter the obtained behavior data through data preparation, data statistics, and analysis. Furthermore, the apriori algorithm is used to mine association rules and calculate the similarity of data followed by the application of a fuzzy neural network to mine the behavior data of English online education students. The experimental results show that this method has high data processing efficiency, takes up less space, and produces a low prediction error.

Changes in behavior and normal habits during the Covid-19 pandemic are a challenge faced by any part of the world. A sudden change in habit will certainly have a very significant impact on some circles such as students. Changes in the learning system that were previously carried out offline and changed suddenly online certainly have an impact on the readiness of students to prepare themselves. This study aims to examine the impact of quantitative changes in learning habits from offline systems to online systems by using questionnaires distributed throughout the capital city of Indonesia, namely DKI Jakarta. All of these studies were carried out comprehensively and massively to obtain valid and actual data. Several analytical methods are used such as validity tests, ANOVA tests, and Likert scale tests which are useful for (1) ensuring all data is in good Validity, (2) analyzing and drawing some conclusions from changes in student behavior during the Covid-19 pandemic. From the results of the study, it was found that 47% of students living in the capital city of Indonesia already understand the dangers of the Covid-19 pandemic, the online learning system that has been carried out can become a new habit as much as 54%, the problem that hinders students during this pandemic is Mager (lazy to move) by 36% and the most popular learning system during the pandemic was online learning together with teachers by 68%.

In higher education, the demand for improved information in relation to educational and learning outcomes is greater than ever before. Leveraging technology, new models of education have emerged that are not only improving modes of lecture delivery and information retention, but also generating huge amounts of data. This data is potentially a gold mine that needs to be explored to uncover patterns associated with student behavior and how information is processed, retained and used by the students. This chapter proposes a generic model that uses the techniques of educational data mining to explore and analyze Big Data being generated by the education sector. This chapter also examines the various questions that can be answered using educational data mining methods and how the discovered patterns can be used to enrich the learning experience of a student as well as help teachers make pedagogical decisions.

With the promotion of online education, the adaptive learning system has attracted attention due to its good curriculum recommendation function. The student model is an important interface between the adaptive learning system and the user, reflecting the individual characteristics, knowledge status, and cognitive ability of the student. The accuracy of the information in the student model directly affects the quality of the system recommendation service. The traditional student model only judges students based on the basic information and simple test scores. This paper introduces the self-adaptive item bank and adaptive item selection strategy based on the cognitive diagnosis theory that dynamically detects the students' knowledge and analyzes the state according to the answering habits and knowledge mastering status of different students. This paper analyzes and contrasts a variety of traditional cognitive diagnosis theories and proposes a mixed cognitive diagnosis question bank and a selection strategy model to provide strong support for the construction of student models.
