The subject of variance estimation is one of the most important topics in statistics. It has been clarified by many different research studies due to its various applications in the human and natural sciences. Different variance estimators are built based on traditional moments that are especially influenced by the existence of extreme values. In this paper, with the presence of extreme values, we proposed some new calibration estimators for variance based on L-moments under double-stratified random sampling. A simulation study with COVID-19 data is performed to evaluate the efficiency of the proposed estimators. All results indicate that the proposed estimators are often superior and highly efficient compared to the existing traditional estimator.

This study aims to measure the level of teacher practice in teaching the subject of Maharat al-Quran Integrated Curriculum Tahfiz (KBT). A total of 621 teachers were made respondents in this study. This study is in the form of a cross-sectional survey involving teachers from KBT secondary schools throughout Malaysia. While the sampling method of this study uses stratified random sampling method. Data were analyzed using IBM Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) software version 25.0 Descriptively to determine the mean value, standard deviation and percentage. The findings of the study show that the level of teacher practice in teaching the subject of Maharat al-Quran KBT is at a high level. In conclusion, this study successfully highlights the uniqueness of the findings that teachers in secondary schools who implement KBT practice well the teaching of tajwid law, manners of the Quran, recitation, knowledge of Qiraat, practice of Qiraat and Rasm Uthmani in the subject of Maharat al-Quran. The science of tajwid is the main teaching emphasized by the teacher to enable students to learn the Quran. The implication is that tahfiz teachers have a role to teach Quranic skills because teachers are the driving force behind a built curriculum. Abstrak Kekurangan pengetahuan terhadap subjek yang diajar akan mengganggu kelancaran proses pengajaran dan pembelajaran (PdP). Kegagalan memahami isi kandungan pelajaran dapat menjejaskan kaedah PdP yang dirancang dan akan memberikan impak negatif kepada pendidikan itu sendiri. Kajian ini bertujuan untuk mengukur tahap amalan guru dalam pengajaran subjek Maharat al-Quran Kurikulum Bersepadu Tahfiz (KBT). Seramai 621 orang guru dijadikan responden dalam kajian ini. Kajian ini berbentuk tinjauan rentas silang (cross-sectional) yang melibatkan para guru dari sekolah menengah KBT di seluruh Malaysia. Manakala kaedah pensampelan kajian ini menggunakan kaedah pensampelan rawak berstrata (stratified random sampling). Data telah dianalisis menggunakan perisian IBM Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) versi 25.0 secara deksriptif untuk mengetahui nilai min, sisihan piawai dan peratusan. Dapatan kajian menunjukkan bahawa tahap amalan guru dalam pengajaran subjek Maharat al-Quran KBT berada pada tahap tinggi. Kesimpulannya, kajian ini berjaya menonjolkan keunikan dapatan bahawa guru di sekolah menengah yang melaksanakan KBT mengamalkan dengan baik pengajaran hukum tajwid, adab al-Quran, tilawah, ilmu Qiraat, amali Qiraat dan Rasm Uthmani di dalam subjek Maharat al-Quran. Ilmu tajwid merupakan pengajaran utama yang ditekankan oleh guru untuk membolehkan murid mempelajari al-Quran. Implikasinya, Guru Tahfiz mempunyai peranan untuk mengajarkan kemahiran al-Quran kerana guru merupakan penggerak sesebuah kurikulum yang dibina

This paper reports on the results of a study focusing on the analysis of students’ ability in writing report texts in terms of generic structure and language features. The subject of the research was the second year students at SMKN 1 Painan. To take the sample, stratified random sampling was used. The data of this research were the texts that were written by the students. Thus, to collect data, writing test was used. The test was analyzed by using scoring rubric. Based on the data analysis, it was found that there was no students had excellent and very good ability, 5 students had good ability, 14 students had fair ability. Then 7 students had poor ability and 4 students had very poor ability. The analysis of the data indicate the students’ ability in writing report text was fair. Also, most of students cannot achieve the passing grade which was 7. Hence, appropriate teaching techniques and approaches should be implemented.

A confidence and an attitude toward a persons ability to accept both positive and negative that are shaped and learned through the process of studying with a view to his own happiness. While self concept is an idea, mind, feeling, belief and position known by the individual in relating to others. The purpose of this study is to know a self concept relationship with a self confident. The hypothesis of this study is there's a self concept relationship with a self confidence. In the study, researchers used a quantitative approach in an attempt to test hypotheses that had been drafted. The subject in this study is a teenager sitting in class 7 and 8 MTS miftahul ulum pandaan. The sampling technique used was staggerate stratified random sampling. The analysis of data in this study uses the scale of self concept and self confidence. Data analysis was calculated by using product moment Pearson and acquired rxy by 0.657 with an r-tab 1% of 0.254. Thus there is a highly significant correlation between self concept and a self confidence.

The aim of this study was to find out how students organize their ideas by seeing the flow of information in the themes and rhemes of clauses in discussion essays. The subject of the study was the sixth semester students of English Department at Universitas Negeri Padang. The total number of sample was 16 students from education program. The sample of the study was collected by using stratified random sampling. The data were collected through students’ writing test of discussion essay. They were asked to write discussion essay at least 4 paragraph in 90 minutes. The result of this study showed that students organized their ideas in three ways of thematic progression, including Simple Linear Progression (SLP), Constant Theme Progression (CTP), and Derived Theme Progression (DTP). However, CTP pattern was predominantly used by students in their essays. Furthermore, it was found that the students’ ability in writing discussion essay seen from thematic progression was still low that they failed to provide development of information and logical arguments in their writing. They tend to organize ideas in different topics in a paragraph that they put new information in the theme position.

Qiraat Studies is a relational knowledge that discusses ways of Quranic recitation with the agreed and disputed recital based on the authentic sanad narrated by the qiraat scholars including hadhaf, ithbat, taḥrik, taskin, al-fasl, al-wasl and in any similar manners through talaqqi and musyafahah. The findings from the previous studies showed that the qiraat capability among the students is still at a moderate level, with some constraints within themselves as well as the ABM usage in the classroom. The Faculty of Quranic and Sunnah Studies, USIM is the first Public University faculty in Malaysia to introduce the Bachelor of Quran and Sunnah Studies (With Honors) program and has offered the subject of Qiraat and Hafazan as a compulsory course and Qiraat Amali II as an elective subject in this program. While Qiraat Amali I and Qiraat Amali II are the compulsory courses in the Bachelor of Quran Studies with Multimedia (Hons). The objective of this research is to identify students' background and to study the level of students' understanding of Qiraat. The research design used was a quantitative method using a survey method. The level of Alpha Cronbach's reliability value obtained for all instruments in the questionnaire was high (> 0.8). A total of 201 respondents answered the questionnaires distributed among the two Bachelor Degree programs namely the Quran and Sunnah and the Quran with Multimedia based on the Proportionate Stratified Random Sampling. The findings show that the level of understanding of students in qiraat studies is good but still requires continuous improvement so that students would have a high interest and passion in the field of qiraat studies. ABSTRAK Pengajian Qiraat ialah satu ilmu berkaitan yang membincangkan cara-cara sebutan kalimah-kalimah al-Quran dengan pelaksanaan yang disepakati dan diperselisihkan bersandarkan sanad yang ṣaḥīḥ yang diriwayatkan oleh imam-imam qiraat  merangkumi hadhaf, ithbat, taḥrik, taskin, al-fasl, al-wasl dan seumpamanya melalui kaedah talaqqi dan musyafahah. Hasil dpatan kajian-kajian lepas menunjukkan bahawa tahap penguasaan qiraat para pelajar masih berada di tahap sederhana, di tambah dengan beberapa kekangan dalam aspek kendiri pelajar serta  penggunaan ABM dalam kelas. Fakulti Pengajian Quran dan Sunnah, USIM merupakan sebuah fakulti Universiti Awam pertama di Malaysia telah memperkenalkan program Ijazah Sarjana Muda Pengajian Quran dan Sunnah (Dengan Kepujian) dan telah menawarkan kursus Pengantar Qiraat dan Hafazan sebagai kursus wajib. Turut ditawarkan ialah kursus Qiraat Amali II sebagai kursus elektif dalam kedua-dua program. Manakala subjek Qiraat Amali I dan Qiraat Amali II sebagai kursus wajib dalam program Ijazah Sarjana Muda Pengajian Quran dengan Multimedia (Dengan Kepujian). Objektif kajian ini adalah untuk mengenalpasti latarbelakang pelajar dan mengkaji tahap kefahaman pelajar terhadap pengajian qiraat. Reka bentuk kajian yang digunakan ialah kaedah kuantitatif dengan menggunakan metode soal selidik. Tahap nilai kebolehpercayaan Alpha Cronbach yang diperoleh bagi semua instrumen dalam soal selidik adalah tinggi (>0.8) Sebanyak 201 responden telah menjawab soal selidik yang diedarkan bagi kedua-dua program pengajian iaitu Ijazah Sarjana Muda Pengajian Quran dan Sunnah serta Ijazah Sarjana Muda Quran dengan Mutimedia mengikut persampelan Proportionate Stratified Random Sampling. Dapatan hasil kajian menunjukkan tahap kefahaman para pelajar dalam pengajian qiraat berada pada tahap baik, namun masih memerlukan penambahbaikan yang berterusan agar para pelajar mempunyai minat dan kesungguhan yang tinggi dalam bidang pengajian qiraat.
