The aims of this research were to reveal the data, information and discuss the using of Numbered Head Together Learning Model of Geography at X IPS 5 Class in SMAN 1 Luhak Nan Duo. The type of the research was a descriptive research with a quantitative approach. This research was conducted at SMAN 1 Luhak Nan Duo through the subject of this research being students at Class X IPS 5, amounting to 33 students. Data collection was done through observation sheets, questionnaires, and documentation. The data technique analysis was the quantitative descriptive by the calculation of the percentage and total respondents' achievements. The conclusion of this research was the students' response to the application of the learning model of the Numbered Head Together at X IPS 5 Class of SMAN 1 Luhak Nan Duo was in the much-needed category and was in the very good category.

This research discloses how character education builds students’ character at SekolahAlam Minangkabau and SekolahAlamAr-Royyan Padang, so students not only have knowledge capabilities but also provide character social attitudes. This is a qualitative typified research. The data were collected through observation, interviews, and document analysis. The validity of the data was examined through the triangulation method while Miles and Huberman’s theory of analysis were used in analyzing the data. The results of the research suggest that: The characters of the students in both schools are religious, tolerant, obedient, diligent, creative, independent, curious, communicative, ecofriendly, and responsive. The students’ character is built through macro and micro strategies. The varieties of the character education used in both schools include the curriculum, facility, educational program, extracurricular as well as the time and the way the character education is implemented. The students’ parents view the character education as a support for them in developing their children’s personality,itinfluences the students’ daily activities outside the schools,and moreover, it alsoestablishes a good communication between the teacher and the students’ parents.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the symbolic meaning and cultural identity of batik. The symbolic meaning of a form of batik motifs gives signs to represent the cultural character of Sarolangun District. Cultural identity acts as a mediation of interaction by the Sarolangun district community to be known in the outside the world. This research method uses descriptive qualitative method. The approach taken is semiotics by Charles Piers.The results of the Semiotics Peirce concept can distinguish the meaning of batik based on the shape of the batik motif and the sign found in the decoration. The symbolic meaning of a number of batik motifs are found in the theme of Mato Punai, Cik Minah edge motif, quaint bird. Mato Punai is a bird's eye motif as a symbol of prosperity. Cik Minah edge motif symbolizes the agility of a woman in life. There are 18 batik motifs that have been recognized and has been patents, hereby that Sarolangun batik arts has its own identity for Saroalngun district culture.

The aim of the research were to explain how cooperative learning improved student’s activeness and the factors influence students’ activeness in writing descriptive text at the grade VII students of SMPN 8 Padang. The research was Classroom Action Research. The data were collected through observation , field note, writing task and test score. The students were asked to decribe people by giving outline and describe animals based on the pictures given. The finding showed that (1) Cooperative Learning improved students’ activeness in writing Descriptive Text. It was really effective in motivating and encouraging students to be actively involved in teaching and learning process.(2) This research also revealed that there were two factors inluence students’ activenes.The factors involve teacher personal aproach and teacher motivation.

The problem in this research are; low student motivation, the learning ability of students in the lower, the ability of students to solve the problem of low, communication skills among students is less, the ability of students to understand the teaching materials is low. Classroom Action Research (CAR) aims to improve the learning outcomes of Geography through the application of the jigsaw type cooperative learning model. Based on the discussion, this classroom action research can be concluded that the application of a jigsaw cooperative learning model can improve Geography learning outcomes. This is proven by data analysis. Mastery learning students before improvement only amounts to 9 (30%) only. However, after improving the first cycle of student learning completeness can be increased to 24 (80%). Furthermore, improvement in the second cycle of student learning completeness can be increased again to 30 (100%). However, after an improvement in the first cycle, students' absorption capacity can be increased (87%). Furthermore, after making improvements in the second cycle, students' absorption capacity can be increased to (96%).

The research objective is to analyze the discipline of learning on learning achievement at Vocational High School 5 Padang class X. This study uses a correlational quantitative research type. Based on the research results obtained that there is a positive and significant relationship of learning discipline to the learning achievement of students of class X in Vocational High School 5 Padang of 11.97%.

This research is based on science and technology encourage the creation of new discoveries in the field of technology, one example of technological findings, namely smartphone. Based on the development of these technologies, the researcher is interesting to conduct a social behavior study of online game enthusiasts in the South Solok 1 High School environment. The theory used in this research is the Differential Association Theory. The results of this study revealed thatstudents are fans of online games in the school environment because students are not cared for in their family environment, are in the wrong environment, and have free habits that come from outside the school environment.

The aim of this study was to find out how students organize their ideas by seeing the flow of information in the themes and rhemes of clauses in discussion essays. The subject of the study was the sixth semester students of English Department at Universitas Negeri Padang. The total number of sample was 16 students from education program. The sample of the study was collected by using stratified random sampling. The data were collected through students’ writing test of discussion essay. They were asked to write discussion essay at least 4 paragraph in 90 minutes. The result of this study showed that students organized their ideas in three ways of thematic progression, including Simple Linear Progression (SLP), Constant Theme Progression (CTP), and Derived Theme Progression (DTP). However, CTP pattern was predominantly used by students in their essays. Furthermore, it was found that the students’ ability in writing discussion essay seen from thematic progression was still low that they failed to provide development of information and logical arguments in their writing. They tend to organize ideas in different topics in a paragraph that they put new information in the theme position.

The aim of this study is to find out the effect of TAD teaching strategy on students’ writing ability at first grade of SMA PGRI Pekanbaru. The design of the research is quasi experimental research with factorial design 2x2. The samples were X IPS 1 as experimental class and X IPS 3 as control class. The samples were selected by using cluster random sampling. The instruments were writing test of recount text. These instruments were tried out first to another class which had similar capabilities to both experiment and control class. The data were analyzed by using T-test. The result of this research shows that TAD teaching strategy produces higher result on students’ writing ability of recount text compared to Small Group Discussion.

The research aims to study the effect of using concept map through cooperative learning Think Pair Share (TPS) on th learning outcomes on eleventh grade science students of SMAN 1 Dua Koto Pasaman in terms of students’ initial knowledge. This was a quasy experiment. Sample are choose using cluster random sampling techniques. Data are analyzed using t-test. Based on the average value of student learning outcomes in the experiment group, 75% or 27 students have reached the minimum completeness criteria. The calculation of the hypothesis tcount (3.042) > ttable (1.995), it is means Ho rejected and H1 is received. It can be concluded that the learning outcomes of students taught using concept map through cooperative learning TPS signicantly different from learning outcomes of students taught with concept maps through conventional learning. The conclusion of this study are there is an effect of the use of concept map in cooperative learning Think Pair Share (TPS) on the learning outcomes on eleventh grade science student in SMAN 1 Dua Koto Pasaman.
