Balint groups are a structured group process designed for physicians and other helping professionals to provide feedback to each other concerning troublesome patient encounters. The process of Balint groups has survived and even thrived for more than a half century since their inception, suggesting their inherent value. However, measuring the impact in order to communicate the nature of that value has been elusive. A recent literature review highlighted the equivocal nature of research results and suggested that well-designed qualitative research may be more effective in selecting target measures which could result in better evidence for this group process. This paper describes such an effort using a qualitative analysis of the author’s own reflections about significant moments and learnings while participating in Balint groups.

This article is conducted based on a simple question: why big companies fail? Nowadays, companies are faced with market conditions that are far different compared to a few years ago. Starting from consumers who demand the speed and convenience of the products or services they will consume, until the competition becomes very tight due to the large number of newcomers emerging. Therefore, companies cannot use their old ways that might have worked in the past. Companies must be able to adapt to the current conditions by making various innovations both from the products and processes they do within the company to survive in the market of this era. However, innovation is not as simple as creating something new and different from the others. An innovation process can be said to succeed if the company can not only create a new product or process, but also can distribute the results of the innovation process so that many parties can feel the impact of their innovation. This is a qualitative research that uses comprehensive literature review to analyse the problem. The purpose of this study is to discuss two factors that have an important role in the success of an innovation process, namely creation and deployment. The output of this research is in the form of a table of operationalization of concepts that are expected to be used to help the success of the parties who will carry out an innovation process. Keywords: Innovation, Innovation Process, Creation, Deployment

Qualitative research dominates political science. In the field of international relations (IR), for example, about 70% of scholars primarily employ qualitative methods, compared to 21% favoring formal or quantitative analysis (Jordan et al. 2009). Since nearly all of the latter make secondary use of textual and historical methods, overallover 90% of IR scholarsemploy qualitative analysis, whereas 48% use any statistical and only 12% any formal methods. This understates the dominance of qualitative analysis, for many statistical data sets rest ultimately on historical work, and IR scholars, when polled, report that qualitative case studies are more relevant for policy than quantitative or formal work. Hardly any major IR debate—whether that over the end of the cold war, American unipolarity, Chinese foreign policy, the nature of European integration, compliance with international law, democratic peace, the causes of war, or the impact of human rights norms—remains untouched by important qualitative contributions.

Abstract: This research was conducted to see and discover the teaching challenges associated with each teacher or lecturer when teaching in an atmosphere of the Covid-19 pandemic. This is important to research because there have been significant changes in teaching and learning activities when the massive spread of Covid-19 occurred. By using qualitative research based on literature review, some of the most striking challenges were obtained, namely: challenges from technology and instructional media, challenges of teacher unpreparedness, challenges of unsupportive facilities and infrastructure, methodological challenges, and human resource challenges. This research provides several solutions to minimize the impact caused by the above challenges, such as: teachers and lecturers must improve their competence in operating learning media and technology, teachers and lecturers must use the right method, and campuses or schools are required to support the teaching process. by providing facilities and infrastructure.

Veganism/vegetarianism is gaining popularity as a food trend, which may generate a high interest in animal welfare. This paper analyzes the motives behind veganism/vegetarianism and its potential impacts on animal welfare policies. It also examines various policy options attempting to improve animal welfare. A qualitative analysis was conducted for this paper. This included a literature review, where 14 articles were selected. The findings showed that while there does not seem to be a clear causation affect between veganism/vegetarianism and animal welfare policies, there are definitely potential impacts that may be more evident in future years and that should be addressed by policymakers and industry leaders.

It has always been an interesting issue deliberating the connectedness between corporation and political power. There have been a substantial number of papers in the academic literature empirically studying what so call “corporate political connections” over the last 17 years. Using 81 papers published in 2010-2017 in finance, economics, accounting, management and other journals, in this present paper, I provide a recent literature review on firm political connections particularly with respect to the empirical studies discussing the impact of being politically connected firms. A number of issues related to the effect of political connections on corporate strategy, behaviors and outcomes have been addressed. Few other papers provide different perspective by looking at the antecedents of corporate political connections and the contingency role of such connections. Little is found on the development of new measures of corporate political connections. Finally, it could be suggested that the interaction between political connections and the technological-based business innovation would be an interesting issue to study.
