The goal of this study was to explore the positive association between concern related to COVID-19 and single individuals’ perceived changes to their partner preferences. In addition, we investigated the mediating role of fear of being single. Results indicated that people with greater COVID-19 concern perceived an increase in the importance of stability, family commitment, and physical/social attractiveness, as well as fear of being single. Fear of being single only negatively predicted the importance of physical/social attractiveness, whereas it positively predicted the importance of stability and family commitment. Thus, in most cases, people with a greater concern for COVID-19 perceived themselves to become more selective, even when they exhibit higher levels of fear of being single.

Previous studies have found some risk factors of cyberbullying. However, little is known about how mother phubbing may influence adolescent cyberbullying, and the mediating and moderating mechanisms underlying this relationship. “Phubbing,” which is a portmanteau of “phone” and “subbing,” refers to snubbing other people and focus on smartphones in social interactions. This study examined whether mother phubbing, which refers to being phubbed by one’s mother, would be positively related to adolescent cyberbullying, whether perceived mother acceptance would mediate the relationship between mother phubbing and adolescent cyberbullying, and whether emotional stability would moderate the pathways between mother phubbing and adolescent cyberbullying. The sample consisted of 4,213 Chinese senior high school students (mean age 16.41 years, SD = 0.77, 53% were female). Participants completed measurements regarding mother phubbing, cyberbullying, perceived mother acceptance, and emotional stability. The results indicated that mother phubbing was positively related to cyberbullying, which was mediated by perceived mother acceptance. Further, moderated mediation analyses showed that emotional stability moderated the direct path between mother phubbing and cyberbullying and the indirect path between mother phubbing and perceived mother acceptance. This study highlighted the harmful impact of mother phubbing on adolescents by showing a positive association between mother phubbing and adolescent cyberbullying, as well as the underlying mechanisms between mother phubbing and adolescent cyberbullying.

This research aims to determine the mediating role of social deficits in self-criticism and aggression using a sample of 695 adolescents (girls = 49%, boys = 51%), aged 12 to 19 years ( M = 14.97, SD = 1.30) from an urbanized city of Pakistan. Interpersonal Difficulties Scale, Self-Criticism Scale, and Aggressive Behavior Scale were used in the present study. Results indicated a significant positive association of social deficits with self-criticism and aggression ( p < .001). Furthermore, findings also suggested a significant positive association between self-criticism and aggression. Mediation analysis revealed that self-criticism partially mediated the relationship between social deficits and aggression. Findings are discussed in terms of the expression and manifestation of self-criticism, social deficits, and aggression in adolescents in collectivistic cultures.

The role of corporate social responsibility (CSR) on firm performance is well documented in the literature. Although the majority of the evidence available points to a positive association between CSR and determinants of company performance such as monetary performance, personnel commitment and corporate identity, findings still remain rather inconclusive as negative or no correlation results are also reported. In addition, little is known about how CSR is perceived from a bank customer’s point of view and studies examining its effect on customer satisfaction and loyalty in developing economies are scanty. Drawing insights from the stakeholder and signaling theories, this study examines the effect of CSR on customer satisfaction and customer loyalty. The study also examines the mediating role of trust on these relationships. Data from 348 bank customers in Zambia indicate that CSR positively affects satisfaction and loyalty. It was also established that trust has a significant mediating effect on the relationships. With the increase in complexity and dynamism of today’s business environment banks are advised to be more socially responsible as one way of building trust and customer satisfaction and loyalty.

The purpose of this research is to examine the influence of service quality (SQ), Price (P) and Restaurant Environment (RE) on customer loyalty (LOY), via the mediating role of customer satisfaction (SAT) in the context of the restaurant industry in the capital city of Pakistan (Islamabad). Five hundred questionnaires were distributed at various restaurants in a different location at Islamabad, and 385 were returned. Multiple Regression Analysis was used to test hypothesis relationships. The outcome of this research shows that SQ, Pand RE have a positive association with the SAT. In contrast, customer satisfaction also leads to customer loyalty. Moreover, customer satisfaction significantly mediates the association among SQ, P, RE, and customer loyalty. The restaurant operators need to consider that good quality of service, fairness in price, pleasant and attractive restaurant the environment can increase customer satisfaction, which often contributes to customer loyalty.

This study assessed the mediating role of cognitive rigidity between temperament and social adjustment in teachers of schools and religious madaris of Pakistan while controlling for the influence of teaching experience. A purposive sample of 300 teachers (150 from public schools and 150 from religious madaris with equal representation of both the genders) was recruited from Sargodha and Lahore. Teachers of schools and madaris were matched in terms of their gender, age, and educational qualification. Urdu translated versions of the Approach–Avoidance Temperament Questionnaire (ATQ), Cognitive Flexibility Scale (CFS), and Social Adjustment Scale were used to operationalize the focal constructs of this study. Path analysis revealed that approach temperament negatively and avoidance temperament positively predicted cognitive rigidity, which in turn led to lowered levels of social adjustment. Approach temperament positively and avoidance temperament negatively predicted social adjustment. The negative association between approach temperament and cognitive rigidity was stronger in the group of school teachers, whereas the positive association between avoidance temperament and cognitive rigidity was stronger among teachers of religious madaris. The positive indirect effect of approach temperament on social adjustment through rigidity was stronger for school teachers. Significant differences were observed in the mean scores of teachers of madaris and schools on avoidance temperament, social adjustment, and cognitive rigidity. Implications of the study and suggestions for future research have been reflected upon.

The determination of this research is to examine the effect of Islamic work ethics on job performance and intrinsic motivation. This study also try to investigate the mediating role of intrinsic motivation on the association between Islamic Work Ethics and job performance. Nonprobability sampling, method was used. Data were collected through adopted questionnaires from 310 teachers of different Universities situated in Malakand Division, KP-Pakistan. SPSS and AMOS were used for Statistical tests. Empirical results indicate that there is a significant positive association between Islamic work ethics, Job performance and intrinsic motivation. The study determined that the idea of Islamic work ethics works as a therapy for the emergent ethical crisis of education sector of Pakistan which should be pervaded in organizational culture for sustainable job performance and growth. Further, study explain that intrinsic motivation mediates the association between Islamic Work Ethics and Job Performance. Implications and upcomingstudy recommendations are discuss in the conclusion.

The present research was conducted to explore the role of dispositional positive emotions and appreciative inquiry in employee engagement among university teachers and mediating role of appreciative inquiry in predicting employee engagement from positive dispositional emotions. A convenient sample (N = 237) of university teachers including both men and women with age ranged from 29 to 54 years (mean age = 39.22) was acquired. The major constructs of the study were assessed with Dispositional Positive Emotions Scale (Shiota, Keltner, & John, 2006), Appreciative Inquiry Scale (Clayton, 2015), and Employee Engagement Survey (Wilson, 2009). Results showed that dispositional positive emotions were positively associated with appreciative inquiry and employee engagement, while appreciative inquiry displayed positive association with employee engagement. Appreciative inquiry mediated the relationship between dispositional positive emotions and employee engagement. Findings further showed significant gender differences indicating that women were high on positive dispositional emotions, appreciative inquiry and employee engagement as compared to men. Group differences on job experience showed that employees with more work experience exhibited better dispositional positive emotions, appreciative inquiry, and work related engagement as compared to other groups. 2x2x3 analysis revealed that women teachers with more work experience displayed more dispositional positive emotions, appreciative inquiry and employee engagement.

The study investigates the relationship between psychological ownership with subjective happiness of the employees. The study also examines the mediating role of work engagement in order to explain the relationship between subjective happiness and psychological ownership at workplace.  The purposive sampling techniques have been used with cross sectional design in order to collection data. Mediation analysis was conducted on SPSS by using sample of 271 employees from leading telecommunication companies working in Pakistan. The results showed that psychological ownership has significant positive association with subjective happiness of the employees. Further, work engagement significantly positively mediates this relationship. The present research contributes on the literature of psychological ownerships and subjective happiness and provides possible solutions for maintaining positive atmosphere of psychological ownership that ultimately increase the subjective happiness of the employees.

In psychological contract research, the side of the supervisor is strongly underexposed. However, supervisors are responsible for maintaining relationships with both their subordinates and senior management and are likely to be influenced by events unfolding in these relationships. In this study, we state that supervisor well-being may be affected by subordinates who fail to meet their obligations. This study adds to psychological contract research by developing an understanding of how and when subordinate psychological contract breach (PCB) is associated with supervisor emotional exhaustion. Through a weekly diary survey among 56 Dutch supervisors, we test hypotheses about the relationships between subordinate PCB and the emotional exhaustion of the supervisor, the mediating role of perceptions of performance pressure by the supervisor in this relationship, and the moderating role of i-deals between the supervisor and senior management. Multilevel analyses support the first two hypotheses, but contradictory to our expectations show that the positive association between subordinate PCB and the emotional exhaustion of the supervisor is strengthened when the supervisor has high levels of i-deals with senior management. We discuss the findings in relation to their contribution to psychological contract theory.

The aim of the present study is to examine the influence of website quality on consumer’s eloyalty, noting the mediating role of e-trust, e-satisfaction, and perceived enjoyment. Besides, this study examines the consequence of consumer’s e-loyalty. Survey data collected from 594 respondents aged at least 16 years and performed some online shopping through websites in Vietnam. Based on the theoretical framework, PLS-SEM using SmartPLS 3.0 software was deployed to discover links between the constructs. The results showed a positive effect ofwebsite quality on e-loyalty, which was mediated partially through consumer e-trust and e-satisfaction. Moreover, e-loyalty had a positive association with electronic word of mouth (eWOM) as well. The main findings of this research provide some empirical implications for Internet marketers and online retailers in Vietnam. E-vendors should understand the customers’ expectations and e-loyalty regarding online shopping to attract new customers as well as to retain their existing customers.
