Purpose The calculation of the crack width is necessary for the design of prestressed concrete (PC) members. The purpose of this paper is to develop a numerical model based on the bond-slip theory to calculate the crack width in PC beams. Design/methodology/approach Stress calculation method for common reinforcement after beam crack has occurred depends on the difference in the bonding performance between prestressed reinforcement and common reinforcement. A numerical calculation model for determining the crack width in PC beams is developed based on the bond-slip theory, and verified using experimental data. The calculation values obtained by the proposed numerical model and code formulas are compared, and the applicability of the numerical model is evaluated. Findings The theoretical analysis and experimental results verified that the crack width of PC members calculated based on the bond-slip theory in this study is reasonable. Furthermore, the stress calculation method for the common reinforcement is verified. Compared with the model calculation results obtained in this study, the results obtained from code formulas are more conservative. Originality/value The numerical calculation model for crack width proposed in this study can be used by engineers as a reference for calculating the crack width in PC beams to ensure the durability of the PC member.

Yuanjue Cave is the core exquisite cultural relic of the Dazu Stone Carvings World Cultural Heritage Site. For hundreds of years, with the continuous effect of natural forces and the erosion of various deterioration factors, the sidewall and roof rock mass of Yuanjue Cave were eroded, some parts of supporting rock mass were fragmented, and the boundary conditions of the rock mass have deteriorated, which have seriously endangered the Yuanjue Cave; once the roof collapses, the national treasure in the cave will be destroyed. In order to preevaluate the stability characteristics of the Yuanjue Cave rock mass and provide key parameters for the preventive protection of the Yuanjue Cave, this paper firstly established a refined database of key parameters of Yuanjue Cave and adjacent areas (geometry, geology, physical properties) based on three-dimensional laser point cloud scanning, a fine survey of adjacent areas, engineering geophysical prospecting, and indoor multifactor coupling tests. Then, based on FLAC3D finite difference numerical simulation technology, an accurate three-dimensional numerical calculation model of Yuanjue Cave was constructed. Finally, the model was used to analyze the roof stability of Yuanjue Cavern, revealing the deformation laws of the Yuanjue Cave roof under static load conditions, and the numerical calculation results were compared with the on-site measured results, verifying the feasibility of the high-precision modeling method, and the reliability of the numerical calculation results provided a reference for the preventive protection of the cultural relics of the cave temple.

The dynamic characteristics of concrete are the key point of the dam seismic safety design. In order to study the dynamic characteristics of concrete, a CT scan test of concrete under dynamic load was carried out; CT scan images of the concrete loading process were obtained. Based on the definition of integrity, integrity area, and intercepted sections in the quantitative zoning theory, the concrete CT images were divided into the hole or crack area ( P 0 − λ 1 ), hardened cement stone area ( P λ 1 − λ 2 ), and aggregate area ( P λ 2 − 1 ). And the determination method of partition threshold is studied. Then, based on the CT resolution unit, a concrete numerical calculation model of structural random is established, and the numerical simulation experiment of concrete under uniaxial dynamic load is carried out. The results show that the concrete numerical calculation model of structural random is very close to the actual mesostructure of concrete, and the interface thickness between aggregate and hardened cement is very close to the actual interface thickness (which is 40~50 μm). Under the action of dynamic load, the damage of the sample is mainly concentrated in the upper part of the sample, and the damage is easy to occur at the initial defect place, and the damage occurs at multiple points at the same time. The damage crack is relatively straight, the phenomenon of the crack passing through the aggregate is obvious, and the crack expands along the fastest path of energy release.

Abstract Wet clutch is widely used in vehicle power transmission, especially in dual clutch automatic transmission. However, due to the unclear understanding of clutch temperature distribution and its influencing factors, the clutch is prone to excessive temperature rise or even wear under severe working conditions or continuous starting conditions. In this paper, the finite element model of stress field distribution of friction pair is established by considering the non-uniform fixed constraint of clamping spring and the non-uniform contact of hydraulic cylinder. Based on the inclined groove structure of the friction plate, the numerical calculation model of the flow field in the groove is established by the finite volume method. On this basis, considering the time-varying characteristics of stress distribution and cooling flow field distribution of clutch friction pairs, a numerical calculation model of clutch temperature field is established, and a multi-field coupling calculation method of clutch is proposed. The distribution of temperature field under different working conditions during clutch engagement is obtained by numerical calculation. The results show that the temperature rise of clutch depends on the target speed of the clutch driving end and the load on the driven end. The research results can provide guidance for the design and control of the clutch.

This paper proposes a coil design method for the magnetically coupled resonant wireless power transfer (MCR-WPT) system. Based on the Biot–Savart law, the magnetic flux density at the observation point was derived, and the magnetic flux of the observation plane generated by the exciting coil was deduced to build the calculation model of power transfer efficiency (PTE) and power delivered to the load (PDL). The PTE and PDL curves via coil parameters could be fitted in minutes using numerical calculation. The coil was designed according to transmission objectives and dimension constraints. In addition, the calculated PTE and PDL were compared with those from finite element analysis to verify the credibility of the method. Finally, the actual curves of PTE and PDL were achieved, which showed a strong positive correlation with the corresponding curves from the calculation model. The relative average deviations of PDL curves were less than 6.11%. Meanwhile, coils designed with the numerical calculation could realize 309.80 W and 88.51%, which achieved the objectives under the constraints. The results demonstrate that the proposed method can realize a rapid and accurate coil design under constraints. It can also be applied to other coil structures or circuit topologies with strong universality.
