Purpose Building on theory in Part 2 of this paper, a relationship is developed between the strategic multiple identities considered there. Personality analytic pathologies arise when these identities are not consistent. This theory is then examined using the mindset agency theory (MAT) developed in Part 2 of the paper. Two classes of MAT models exist: a three-trait (MAT3T) and a five-trait (MAT5T). The former centres on personality traits, while the latter includes traits that are external to the personality. These are then applied to a case study of Donald Trump’s US election campaign. Design/methodology/approach By applying MAT3T and MAT5T to the Trump election campaign, personal and public identities are analysed using content analysis of his narratives. Findings Of the strategic identities, data can be accessed for two, and measured qualitatively using mindset theory, these indicating the likelihood of a personality with pathologies. It is found that Trump MAT3T and MAT5T take different values, suggesting that he has an analytical pathology in his political agency. Originality/value There is not currently any coherent dynamic theory of multiple identities able to provide measures indicative of personality pathologies.

Computer game sound is particularly dependent upon the use of both sound artefacts and music. Sound and music are media rich in information. Audio and music processing can be approached from a range of perspectives which may or may not consider the meaning and purpose of this information.Computer music and digital audio are being advanced through investigations into emotion, content analysis, and context, and this chapter attempts to highlight the value of considering the information content present in sound, the context of the user being exposed to the sound, and the emotional reactions and interactions that are possible between the user and game sound. We demonstrate that by analysing the information present within media and considering the applications and purpose of a particular type of information, developers can improve user experiences and reduce overheads while creating more suitable, efficient applications. Some illustrated examples of our research projects that employ these theories are provided. Although the examples of research and development applications are not always examples from computer game sound, they can be related back to computer games. We aim to stimulate the reader’s imagination and thought in these areas, rather than attempt to drive the reader down one particular path.

The paper deals with the problem of determination of development of V. M. Bekhterev’s reflexology. The author conducted a content-analysis of 20 historical and psychological sources published in 1927–2007 including the writings of V. M. Bekhterev’s students and contemporaries, his scientific autobiography, his granddaughter’s memoirs, history and psychology papers, introductions and opening letters to V. M. Bekhterev’s papers. The analysis revealed that the authors paid special attention to a personality aspect of determination, namely to V. M. Bekhterev’s personality traits concerned with research activities (scope of academic interests, forward thinking, pioneering work, etc.), and to the abilities enabling the scholar to establish a number of research, educational, and practical centers and groups and arrange their work (enthusiastic and inspirational vigor, authority, pedagogical abilities, and charisma).

Abstract Literature has highlighted the challenges of selling experience (vs. search) products online. In addition, the role of celebrity endorsers in purchase intention and attitudes towards brands has been emphasized by scholars. This article argues that celebrities provide cues on products’ sensorial characteristics that have been so far disregarded by extant literature. By choosing perfume as a complex experience product, twenty-seven participants from three countries were interviewed in order to find how endorsers could assist e-shoppers to identify fragrant characteristics in the absence of the real scent. The results of the qualitative content analysis reveal that endorsers’ personality traits and lifestyle could act as predictor of the type of scent. Scent categorization based on such traits are presented. This article provides valuable contributions to both researchers and practitioners interested in online sales of experience goods. Limitations and avenues for future search are also provided.

The purpose of the research is to define the factors that negatively affect education and learning process. Descriptive content analysis, one of the non-interactive qualitative research designs, was used to analyze the data. The analyses were conducted in six stages. First, aim, subject, and research questions were determined. Literature review was done according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria, the literature was read, the literature tags were created in the form of a table, the codes, categories, themes were created inductively according to the descriptive content analysis, and finally, analysis, association, interpretation, signification, and reporting were made. To this aim, 238 research conducted between 2014 and 2018 were jointly investigated within the framework of determined criteria. Correlation between raters was determined as rp= 0.94. According to the obtained results, variables that negatively affect learning related to technology and media may be indicated as phone, tablet, computer, game, internet, cartoons, social media, television, and TV series. Private teaching institutions and central examinations that negatively affect teaching are among the variables related to exams. Negative and disruptive factors arising from the school, education system, and educational practices; assignments, disconnection from real life, discipline problems, legislation and procedures, teaching practices that do not change or be updated, and a low possibility for failing a class are educational fashions. Addiction related viruses such as drugs, technology addiction, smoking habits affect education negatively. Obesity and excessive consumption culture and unhealthy nutrition problems that are health-related problems are also observed. Violence, swearing, using slang words, peer bullying, moral collapse, noise pollution, and problems stemming from ignoring others are the problems arising from all kinds of school environments.

<p><em>The topic of corporate branding has stimulated immense academic attention. However, as the thrust of research on corporate branding concentrates on the West, little remains known about how firms in developing nations in Sub Sahara Africa deal with the challenge to communicate a sustainable image through branding. Therefore, the current study investigates specific corporate brand visual elements utilised by firms in Botswana as tools for communication, identification and differentiation. A sample of about 350 brands from different industries was collected from the local print media and content analysed. Overall findings demonstrate that a majority of firms in Botswana utilize a combination of full names, colour, logos and taglines in their corporate brands. Most frequently used being the full names that represent the background of the firm, blue or black colours that correspond to national colours, symbolic logos and taglines that emphasize the personality traits of competence and sincerity as well as the industry in which the firm operates. The significant use of a combination of visual elements signifies the importance that local firms attach to corporate branding. However, there is a need to improve on the use of taglines and consistency in the use of visual elements to exploit the advantages of corporate identity.</em></p>

Background: Competency is a set of job-related knowledge, skills, personality traits, interests, and experiences that enable the holder to perform tasks and responsibilities at an above-average level. Since the Holy Quran and hadiths emphasize the principle of selecting the most competent people according to specific characteristics and skills, there is a need to define the needed competencies for selecting efficient and capable managers. Based on this, the general and specialized competencies of managers were extracted from the valuable sources including the Quran and Nahj al-Balagha. Method: In this qualitative developmental study, the qualitative content analysis research method was conducted to investigate the texts of the Holy Quran and Nahj al-Balagha using a Quranic-narrative approach to extract the characteristics of competent managers. Results: After extracting all concepts (354) and classifying them, we finally achieved 21 competencies and placed them in consecutive classifications (3 stages of codification, preparation, and summarization) in 2 groups of general and specialized competencies. Conclusion: According to the Islamic criteria in selecting managers of an Islamic society, these competencies should be considered using a systemic approach.
