The article discusses the relevance of studying web technologies in basic and secondary schools. Revealed the relationship of the concepts of "web programming", "web development" and "web technology", clarified the concept of "web technology". The connection between the concepts of "competency", "educational competency", "digital competencies", "digital skills" has been investigated. The requirements for the results of studying web technologies at school are analyzed, which are contained in Federal State Educational Standards and in Approximate Basic Educational Programs of Basic and Secondary Education in informatics, as well as in educational and methodological kits of basic and secondary schools. On the basis of this analysis, the requirements for what a high school graduate should know, be able to and master at a basic level after studying the theme "Web technologies" are summarized. In an accessible form, the textbook presents the theoretical foundations of physical and mathematical modeling; considers the modeling of mass, heat and momentum transfer processes, the relationship and analogy between them; studies the theory of similarity, its application in modeling, models of the structure of flows in apparatuses. Experimental-statistical and experimental-analytical modeling methods are also described, which include "black box" methods, planning passive, active full and fractional factor experiments, and adjusting models based on the results of the experiment. At the same time, modeling of chemical reactors, methods of optimization of chemical-technological processes, their selection, comparison and application examples are considered. The article presents a critical approach to the worldview the universal competences of the IV Federal State Educational Standard is based on. It is shown that this approach is shaped by the content of the competencies themselves. The constant changeability of society and the awareness of the urgency call for the use of the dialectical-materialist method. Based on the realities of the educational space, which cannot currently be reformed on the basis of the dialectical-materialist method, we examine ways to use dialectical-materialist method of thinking of students to understand the relationship of universal competencies. In addition we proposed to strengthen interdisciplinary connections. The current state of the sphere of higher education allows, with certain organizational efforts, to achieve positive results.
