The problem of aggressive behavior of adolescents remains unresolved, and arouses great interest among psychologists, sociologists, criminologists. This is confirmed by a large number of articles and reports devoted to this problem, which appear annually in collections of scientific conferences. However, despite excessive quantity of theoretical literature devoted to adolescent psychology, there is a significant gap between theory and practice. The article attempts to move the problem of aggressive behavior of adolescents beyond individual external (social) and internal (characterological) factors to the global personological level and to consider it in the aspect of self-identity problems.

Asymptotic justification of the bootstrap often takes the form of weak convergence of the bootstrap distribution to some limit distribution. Theoretical literature recognized that the weak convergence does not imply consistency of the bootstrap second moment or the bootstrap variance as an estimator of the asymptotic variance, but such concern is not always reflected in the applied practice. We bridge the gap between the theory and practice by showing that such common bootstrap based standard error in fact leads to a potentially conservative inference.

Статья посвящена проблемам изучения теории и практики имитационной техники в полифонии строгого письма. Три типа имитации — простая, стреттная, каноническая — постоянно фигурируют в современной музыкально-теоретической литературе. Трактовки сути простой и канонической имитации в разных источниках совпадают, хотя формулировки в деталях разнятся. При этом значительны расхождения в понимании стретты. По традиции, заложенной учениями XVIII века, в теоретическом музыкознании стретту рассматривают в контексте формы фуги. Одновременно ряд исследователей считает возможным использовать понятие стретты по отношению к имитационному многоголосию Ренессанса. При этом термин употребляется в разных значениях. Материал исследования — начальные имитационные секции четырех-шестиголосных мотетов Палестрины без c. f. Тематическая организация рассматривается с учетом тексто-музыкальной формы мотета, в соответствии с которой функцию темы выполняет тексто-музыкальная строка, построенная на относительно стабильном соединении текстовой строки и развернутого мелодического soggetto. Ее неоднократные повторения позволяют обнаружить сходства и различия канонов и стретт в строгостильном многоголосии. The article is devoted to the problems of studying the theory and practice of imitation technique in polyphonic music of strict writing. Three types of imitation — simple, stretto and canonical — appear as relevant in modern musical theoretical literature. An analysis of the existing concepts showed that the interpretations of the essence of simple and canonical imitation in different sources coincide, although the formulations in details, as a rule, differ. Against this background, significant differences in the understanding of stretto (narrow, tight) imitation are especially noticeable. Many authors, foreign and domestic, starting from the teachings of the 18th century, consider the stretto in the context of the fugue form. At the same time, a number of researchers of the 20th century (domestic and foreign) have formed a different position. They believe that it is possible to expand the musical and historical boundaries of the use of the concept of stretto, its use in relation to the imitative polyphony of the Renaissance. The authors talk about the stretto in at least three different cases: the effect of a compressed temporary introduction of imitation voices (S. Skrebkov, T. Dubravskaya), narrow introduction of voices with their subsequent non-imitation promotion (N. Simakova), the tight entry of the rispost before the end of the theme in the propost, which does not fit into the canon (K. Eppessen, S. Skrebkov). The analysis of the musical material showed that the broadly understood stretto (the conciseness of the timing of the introduction of voices) is very typical of the polyphony of strict writing and manifests itself in many and different methods. The musical material of the study was the one-theme initial imitation sections of the four-six-part Palestrina motets, the compositional foundation of which lacks cantus firmus. The thematic organization was considered taking into account the genre of the motet, which belongs to the class of text-musical forms. In accordance with the nature of the genre, the function of the theme in the imitation section is performed by a text-musical line built on a relatively stable connection of a text line and an expanded melodic soggetto.

This study aims to test the effectiveness of reality counseling to improve students' self-identity in junior high. This research uses pre experimental with pretest-posttest one group design. The data analysis used is paired test of T-test. To see the change of self-understanding level in the experimental group between pretest and posttest by looking at the price of ttable on the degrees of freedom (dk), ie the amount is N-1, and at a significant level α = 0.05 (95%) then obtained ttable = 1.771, assuming if thitung > ttabel then Ha "received" the meaning of group reality counseling is effective to improve understanding of the identity of junior high-school students. The research was carried out starting from April to July 2018, which took place at SMP Negeri 2 Mojosari. Based on the findings of the study, it is suggested as follows (1) for Guidance and Counseling teachers, group counseling can be applied effectively in schools, especially in improving understanding of students' self-identities; (2) for researchers, furthermore, group reality counseling is effective in improving self-understanding students, should be able to be an inspiration in doing further research by applying group counseling with other techniques, especially in an effort to improve students' self-identity understanding.   References Andreouli, E. PurposeThe purpose of this study is to develop and test a theoretical model of Fairtrade buying behavior that supports Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by addressing the nexus between just-world beliefs, along with the normative influences, self-identity and altruistic values.Design/methodology/approachA conceptual framework on the influence of just-world beliefs for Fairtrade purchase intentions is proposed to analyze the role of just-world beliefs on the effects of normative influences and altruistic values for the intention to purchase Fairtrade products that support SDGs. These conceptualizations are empirically tested on a representative sample of 217 consumers.FindingsJust-world beliefs play a central role in the purchase intention by having a direct effect on purchase intention and an indirect effect mediated by personal norms and self-identity. They partially mediate the effects of altruistic values and social norms on the purchase intention of Fairtrade products that support SDGs.Originality/valueThe research provides a better understanding of the influences of these contextual variables on ethical consumption and contributes to both the theory and practice of how businesses can achieve SDGs. The psychological rationale of just-world beliefs provides a new approach to marketing strategy and communication aimed at increasing purchase intention of Fairtrade products that support the fundamental goals of the UN sustainable development.

In psychotherapy practice and training, single case study design plays an indispensable role by effectively articulating the application of textbook knowledge, thereby bridging the gap between theory and practice. This article, on similar lines, illustrates one such successful example of the application of the classical behavioral technique of covert conditioning modified with a component of verbal challenging. A woman in her late-thirties reported with long-standing seemingly-resistant-to-treat symptoms of aggressive behavior of beating children. The client had a total of 10 daily sessions of 60–90 minutes each. By the end of one week, she reported not beating children in this period. She felt extremely relieved because it had happened for the first time in 10 years. The intensity of anger had decreased drastically, and she was not shouting any longer. She had to discontinue sessions abruptly due to unavoidable circumstances. Although she was suggested to follow up the intensive sessions again, she was not able to do it due to feasibility issues. The improvement was maintained on follow-up visits after two weeks, four weeks, and three months.

This presentation will focus on a series of manuals containing instructions regarding the oracle process. These sources, usually referred to as The Extispicy Rituals, also elaborate about different theoretical and practical aspects of extispicy as a scholarly discipline. But their main objective is to offer descriptions of the sequences of sacrificial offerings and the purification acts performed during the ritual. The first part of the presentation will be dedicated to the content of this group of documents and discuss their structure, based on the recent study of the relevant manuscripts. The second part of the presentation will discuss the questions raised by this collection of instructive texts. It will address the problems that concerns the roles of the seer and his client in the ritual and will clarify its setting, in time and space. The series of offerings that were given and the variety of gestures made by the participants, will also be presented.As it happens, the ritual under discussion was performed for a defined purpose. The objective was allowing the seer to inspect the lamb he slaughter with the aim of obtaining an answer to the oracle question he pre-formulated for his client. Obtaining such an answer required prior training including the knowledge of complex theoretical literature on the subject, a matter on which the Extispicy Rituals elaborate as well. Hence, attention will also be given in this presentation to issues regarding the theoretical aspects of extispicy by contemplating the following questions: What were the relations between the seers’ theoretical literature and the act of extispicy? Did astrology play a role in this practice? And, finally: to what extent was this type of knowledge considered esoteric? This research is a reflexive hermeneutic study of the interplay between identity and inclusive talent management in smaller organizations. The in-depth research design uses the diary interview method to enable reflection and to explore employee perspectives. The work looks at how the respondents make sense of talent management, and what this implies for Human Resource and management practice. What do talent management meanings and identity mechanisms of employees reveal if we listen and take them into account? The research contributes to literature by exploring the under-examined area of talent management and identity. The research shows that the sense-making of talent and talent management is based on individual and extra-individual factors. On the one hand, personal values and the self inspire how people assign meaning to talent and talent management. The research introduces employees as meaning creators with an active role in talent management and presents implications for theory and practice. The work illustrates that self and social-identities are indeed interwoven with talent management. It introduces the concepts of talent self-identity and talent-identity which are related to the notion of talent status. Extra-individual factors on the other hand, which are talent discourses and actions, also shape individual talent meanings and start identity creation processes. Talent management enables individual agency and regulates identity. Through pointing out positive and negative employee reactions, the research adds to theory and practice regarding the “dark side” of talent management and psychological contracts in inclusive talent management. The study further shows how power, responsibility and rewards are interrelated with talent meanings and identity formation. The work contributes to practice by suggesting agency and structure on demand for the design of talent programs

This chapter focuses on the relation between philosophy, biography, and autobiography, as a way of tracking how the ascetic ideal informs our thinking about our relation to ourselves, and so about selfhood in general. Certain ascetic ideas about the possibility of self-identity and truthful self-characterization are shown to crop up throughout modern treatments of autobiographical theory and practice, and to generate opposition and criticism. The work of MacIntyre, Sartre, and Heidegger provides a general framework for navigating this part of the territory of life-writing; and the recent autobiographical trilogy by J. M. Coetzee is examined as a site within which ascetic practices of confession are developed, criticized, and then turned against themselves.
