The construction and development of the expressway network has far-reaching significance for the economic growth of Guizhou Province. In this paper, ArcGIS was used to calculate the nodal accessibility, daily accessibility and regional average accessibility of the expressway network in Guizhou Province, and the evolution of the spatial pattern of accessibility under the influence of expressways in Guizhou Province from 2012 to 2019 was analyzed through three different dimensions of accessibility indicators. The results show that with the continuous construction of expressways, the accessibility of the whole province continues to improve. Guiyang, as the provincial capital city, improved the accessibility of expressways the most during the last 7 years. However, due to the inequality of resources, there are still spatial differences in traffic capacity between cities and cities. Among them, Tongren and Xingyi have a small increase in the accessibility of expressways from 2012 to 2019, and the traffic conditions of Tongren and Xingyi are in the inferior position of the whole province.

Jakarta as the capital city of Indonesia is the center of economy, culture, and politics. Jenderal Sudirman street always crowded with passing vehicles, traffic snarls up everyday. The causes of these traffic jam is an increase the number of vehicles and cause a change in traffic behavior. Theoretically there is a fudamental relationship between flow, speed, & density, so the purpose of these research are to analyze and evaluate performance of traffic capacity in various conditions based on Manual Kapasitas Jalan Indonesia 1997 and Greenshields model. Conclusion of the analysis are, after compared with traffic volume, capacity and speed based on MKJI are 3.127,6 pcu/hour and 55,7 km/hour, but the capacity of the model are selected because it’s largest, for sudirman – thamrin it’s 8.272,5 pcu/hour, and for thamrin – sudirman it’s 8.067,9 pcu/hour, While the calculation of free flow for sudirman – thamrin it’s 41.2 km/hour the lowest occurs in  evening, and for thamrin – sudirman it’s 43,9 km/hour the lowest occurs in  afternoon. The largest capacity it’s used for the next analysis, the next analysis are calculating degree of saturation and level of service, the result  shows that the roads are at C and D.ABSTRAKJakarta ibu kota negara Indonesia merupakan pusat ekonomi, budaya, dan politik.

This chapter presents a recent survey on the development and accessibility for finance of small and medium-size enterprises (SMEs) in Mongolia. The survey covers a sample of 1922 SMEs from Ulaanbaatar, the capital city, and 21 provinces. We find that banks and local government administrations are the most supportive institutions for SME development. Political instability, corruption, and labour supply, a high lending rate, short maturity loans, and service fees are perceived as the major obstacles that SMEs face in the business environment. Our results also suggest that SMEs in Mongolia are less likely to have access to external finance because of tight credit condition, potentially explaining the lack of SME growth. Implementing country-specific reform strategy for SME development covering key building blocks is needed to promote SME financial inclusion and facilitate SMEs to contribute to the economic growth.

Since the onset of the COVID-19 outbreak in Wuhan, China, numerous forecasting models have been proposed to project the trajectory of coronavirus infection cases. Most of these forecasts are based on epidemiology models that utilize deterministic differential equations and have resulted in widely varying predictions. We propose a new discrete-time Markov chain model that directly incorporates stochastic behavior and for which parameter estimation is straightforward from available data. Using such data from China’s Hubei province (for which Wuhan is the provincial capital city and which accounted for approximately 82% of the total reported COVID-19 cases in the entire country), the model is shown to be flexible, robust, and accurate. As a result, it has been adopted by the first Shanghai assistance medical team in Wuhan’s Jinyintan Hospital, which was the first designated hospital to take COVID-19 patients in the world. The forecast has been used for preparing medical staff, intensive care unit (ICU) beds, ventilators, and other critical care medical resources and for supporting real-time medical management decisions.

Manufacturing industry demand for business services is examined in the British city regions of Birmingham, Leeds, and Manchester. A postal survey of selected industries considers the impact of a number of industrial and organisational determinants of spatial variations in manufacturing service demands. The study suggests that external control is not the only important predictor of service linkage; previous research has neglected the influence of spatial differences in the supply of services on the pattern of manufacturing industry demand. Research relating variations in the supply of business service activities to differences in regional economic growth is critically reviewed. It is suggested that the economic growth of provincial regions could be improved by expanding key services in selected provincial centres at differing levels of the urban hierarchy.

This paper investigates how urban sprawl and the quality of economic growth interact and further studies the spatial-temporal decoupling characteristics of both. To achieve this, a framework was developed to better explain both the different dimensional effects urban sprawl exerts on the quality of economic growth and their reverse feedback relation. A sample of 285 Chinese cities (2003 to 2016) were analyzed, employing both a decoupling model and spatial correlation analysis. The findings indicated that urban sprawl and the quality of economic growth are related via scale, structure, technological efficiency, and technological progress effects. In practice, with increasing quality of economic growth, the urban sprawl index decreases at the national level. At prefecture-city level, the types of decoupling between urban sprawl and the quality of economic growth showed clear periodical and unbalanced characteristics. Furthermore, decoupling showed a significant agglomeration effect in Chinese cities, which is mainly mediated by the types High-High and Low-Low. This study provides a significant contribution to the relevant acknowledge system by providing a comprehensive theoretical framework toward an understanding of how urban expansion interacts with the quality of economic growth. Furthermore, their decoupling types and spatial differences that are critical for the urban sustainable development have been identified, thus providing several important insights for both academics and urban policy makers.

We studied the spatial and temporal patterns of forest regeneration using a 24-year time series of Landsat images and the normalised difference vegetation index (NDVI) in a homogeneous Pinus halepensis forest, 3000 ha of which were extensively burned in 1995. We demonstrated a progressive slow and linear recovery in NDVI values, based on Landsat images between 1997 and 2007. The forest tended to recover to pre-disturbance conditions, both with respect to the magnitude of the NDVI and in terms of the spatial pattern. We found that the spatial differences in the rates of NDVI recovery were not affected by the burn severity. Moreover, burn severity did not affect the rates of NDVI recovery after the fire. Although highly homogeneous P. halepensis regeneration was the dominant pattern in the study area (more than the 70% of the burn area showed positive and significant trends), some spatial differences in the magnitude of change were observed. The forest tended to recover the spatial pattern corresponding to pre-fire conditions, although it was difficult to establish whether terrain elevation or previous tree size and density were the main governing factors, given the strong relationship between them.
