We review recent exact analytical results on Minority Game — a binary exactly solvable El Farol's bar problem. Inductive agents minimize the available information, not their losses, thus the stationary state differs from a Nash equilibrium. On the other hand, the same learning dynamics leads to a Nash equilibrium when agents take into account their impact on the market.

Abstract This article focuses on the establishment of a winery on the Roman imperial estate at Vagnari in southeast Italy in the 2nd c. CE and the ceramic vats (dolia defossa) needed to mature and store the estate's vintages. A scientific analysis of the clay used to make the dolia has revealed their likely place of manufacture to have been in Latium or on the border between Latium and Campania on the Tyrrhenian (west) coast of Italy. With these analytical results in hand, it is now possible to inquire into the historical and economic significance for the imperial fiscus of importing dolia for wine making in the vicus at Vagnari, the route and mechanisms by which they might have traveled to the other side of the Italian peninsula, and the connectivity between this Apulian imperial estate and other potential imperial properties in western Italy. This places the present study at the intersection of agriculture, manufacturing, and property transfer within the patrimonium Caesaris.

This paper investigates how to change the disassortativity of the whole network by connecting nodes of different types in two communities. A model connecting two multi-center networks is studied to see if analytical results are achievable. There are three main methods to connect two multi-center subnetworks depending on whether the connecting nodes are centers: (1) connect the centers of one sub-network to noncenter nodes of the other sub-network, (2) connect the centers of the two sub-networks together, and (3) connect non-center nodes of the two sub-networks. The results show that the disassortative property of a single multicenter network can be maintained in scenarios (1) and (2) above, but the disassortativity is changed in (3). In conclusion, either assortativity or disassortativity is achievable by connecting nodes with different degree properties in an ideal network constructed from two communities with similar network topology.

Abstract. Anomalous decreases on water levels were observed in 78 % of wells in central Taiwan about 250 days before the Chi-Chi earthquake whose magnitude is 7.6 on 20 September 1999. Variations in groundwater levels measured on anomalous wells from 1 August 1997 to 19 September 1999, were transferred into the frequency domain to unveil frequency characteristics. Analytical results show that amplitudes at the frequency band between 0.02 and 0.04 day−1 generally maintained at low stage and were apparently enhanced a few weeks before the Chi-Chi earthquake. Variations of amplitude at this particular frequency band were further examined along with other Taiwan earthquakes whose magnitude is larger than 6 from 1 August 1997 to 31 December 2009. Features of the enhanced amplitudes at the frequency band are consistently observed prior to the other two earthquakes during the 12.5-year study period. Result confirms that abnormal rise and fall changes in groundwater level yield an agreement with forward and backward surface displacements around epicenter prior to the Chi-Chi earthquake.

ABSTRACTThis study discusses the musical interaction in Topeng Betawi art performances. The focus of the problem focuses on how the fabric of musical interaction that occurs between the musicians in the musical staple grain Performace Topeng Betawi arts. The method used in this research is a descriptive analysis of the methods by describing or depicting an object under study based on the data obtained, which then conducted an analysis of the data. This research applies the theory of musical interaction formulated by Benjamin Brinner. Data collection techniques gained through fieldworks, audio-visual recording, and literature. Analytical results from this study can be concluded (1) Player fiddle as a leader who has the obligation to coordinate the course of the show. (2) The layout of musical instruments from each presenter is based on the consideration of the smoothness of the musical message. (3) Book musicals is a sign that later received a response from the other music players. (4) The structure of the musical influenced the type of rhythm being played. (5) Response musical is a form of motivation for each music player.

Obviously three results may follow the ingestion of alcohol. All the alcohol may be oxidized and none be eliminated, or a portion only may be oxidized and the rest be eliminated unaltered; or, lastly, all may be eliminated again unaltered. Assuming the last to be the case, it would follow that, if a certain quantity of alcohol be taken daily, the amount eliminated would increase from day to day until, at last, the amount eliminated daily would equal the daily consumption, be this time 5, 10, or more days. If, on the other hand, all the alcohol consumed is either oxidized or eliminated within 24 hours, no increase in the daily elimination will take place in consequence of the continuance of the alcohol diet. Guided by these considerations, the author undertook two series of experiments, in which the amount of alcohol eliminated by both kidneys and lungs was carefully estimated. The analytical processes employed are described in detail. First series .—After a total abstinence from alcohol for 11 days, the urine and breath were examined, after which, from the 12th to the 24th day, both inclusive, the author took 112 cub. centims. of brandy daily (equal to 48·68 grms. absolute alcohol). The urine and breath were examined on the 12th, the 18th, and the 24th day. The urine was also examined during the 5 days following the cessation of the alcohol diet. The analytical results obtained are given in a Table.

The aim of this analysis is to know and understand the criteria, causes, influence, characters and moral messages of Kevin in Analysis on Antisocial Personality Disorder of Kevin in “We Need to talk about Kevin Movie Directed by Lynne Ramsay”. This method uses descriptive qualitative analysis. The analytical results obtained are: (1) Criteria of antisocial personality disorder of Kevin namely among the other things deceitfulness, irritability, aggressiveness, reckless, disregard for safety of his own self or for others and lack of remorse. (2) The causes of antisocial personality disorder on Kevin is less responsive (genetic) and neglect of family on Kevin (Environment). (3) Kevin’s behaviour influencing the others is posing of a threat and (4) Moral message that people should anticipate with antisocial personality disorder is that people should not hurt the person and should communicate with him very well. As a result, Kevin has the characters of aggressiveness, easily lying and can injure others without feeling any guilt.

An unknown bone was analyzed by PIXE at the Nishina Memorial Cyclotron Center. The head bone had a normal area, a rotted area and the green colored area on its surface. An extremely small amount of powder was cut from each area. Each powder sample was fixed on a backing film with a small amount of collodion liquid. The concentrations of sodium and chlorine are relatively high compared with that of other elements in all powder samples. The concentrations of copper and zinc in the colored area are higher than that in the other areas. The analytical results by PIXE agreed with other investigated results. We describe one of the applications of PIXE to archaeology field.

An analytical model is proposed for investigating the effect of non-parallel (wedge) contact on the loosening performance of a preloaded bolt-nut connection under transverse cyclic excitation along the wedge direction. From the model, if the wedge angle is sufficiently small, the self-loosening may take place. On the other hand, if the wedge angle is large enough, the self-loosening caused by the back off rotation may be prevented. Experimental and analytical results show that the proposed model accurately predicts both the self-loosening performance, and it also establishes the requirements for preventing the loosening of the preloaded bolt-nut system.

The Process Beneficiation of Minerals such as the Tantalum and Niobium Ores May Vary Significantly and the Final Sequence of Steps Normally Depends on the Physiochemical Properties. these Properties are Often Utilised in Designing a Processing Route. Removal of Iron and Titanium from the Manganotantalite and Ferrotantalite Samples in this Study was Successfully Accomplished by Magnetic Separation. Acid Leaching Using H2SO4 on the other Hand Removed a Large Portion of Thorium and Uranium in these Samples. Analytical Results Indicated that 66(1) and 54.7(5)% of Total Fe and Ti Respectively, and ~ 2% each of Nb2O5 and Ta2O5 were Removed from Ferrotantalite Using the Magnetic Separation Method, while only 9.0(1) and 8.61(4)% of Total Fe2O3 and TiO2 Respectively, and ~2% each of Nb2O5 and Ta2O5 were Removed from Manganotantalite. Tantalite Ores Leached at 50 °C for 3 Hrs in the Presence of Concentrated H2SO4 was Found to be the most Appropriate Condition to Remove Radioactive Elements. Results Obtained from Sample A under these Conditions Indicated that 62(2)% U3O8 and 60.8(3)% ThO2 were Leached into the Acidic Solution along with 4.45 and 0.99% of Nb2O5 and Ta2O5 Respectively.
