Results of this study showed that the only significant effect of leverage on earnings management. While the quality of the implementation of good corporate governance and profitability no significant effect on earnings management.
To be able to achieve good corporate governance, in addition to managerial ownership, institutional ownership and board of directors, the role of the audit committee also needed to further enhance the quality of information contained in the financial statements in accordance with his duties. Good corporate governance is one way to address the practice of earnings management. Study to examine the effect of the mechanisms of good corporate governance on earnings management that uses the data in the Indonesian capital market, still very little is done. Earnings management is a management action in the process of preparing financial statements to influence the level of profit that is displayed. The goal is to improve the welfare of certain parties, which can be identified as an advantage. Earnings management problem is the agency problem that is often triggered by a separation of the role or the difference between the interests of the owners (shareholders) with managing the company's management.

Hasil penelitian menunjukkan return on assets (ROA), debt to equity ratio (DER), non performing loan (NPL), good corporate governance (GCG) berpengaruh terhadap return saham. Berdasarkan hasil uji interaksi MRA, price book value (PBV) dapat memoderasi pengaruh return on assets (ROA), debt to equity ratio (DER), non performing loan (NPL), good corporate governance (GCG).

The purpose of the company is to increase the firm value. But in the last six years, firm value of the banking sector has fluctuated and even tends to decrease. The level of banking health can be expected to increase the firm value. The level of banking health can be measured using Risk Profile (RP), Good Corporate Governance (GCG), Earning, Capital (RGEC) method which is the latest formula after Capital, Asset Quality, Management, Earning, Liquidity (CAMEL). The purpose of this study was to determine effect of the banking health on the firm value. The research method uses partial panel data regression through the determination of estimation model and classical assumption test in advance using 33 banks listed on Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX). The results showed that there was significant and positive effect between Return on Asset (ROA) and Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR) on firm value. Beside, there was positive but not significant effect between GCG and risk profile on firm value. The results showed that capital is a factor of business developer and company earnings can show as a signal of quality prospects. The application of GCG is not a significant influence because the results of self-assessment are not in accordance with fraud that occurs. Banks must be able to manage their risk, so that the risk can be an encouragement for them to produce high values.

This research is aimed at determining the direct and indirect effect of good corporate governance on the value of company with the credit risk as the intervening variable analyzing the financial performance of the bank registered in Indonesia Stock Exchange during the period of 2011-2013. Good Corporate Governance is examined with the composite of GCG which is the self assessment of the bank. The credit risk is examined with the Non Performing Loan (NPL). The value of the company is examined with the Price Book Value (PBV). The number of the population of this research is 41 companies from which 22 samples were selected through purposive sampling. The analysis in this research is the path analysis to obtain the whole description of the correlation between one and another variable. The research showed that GCG has effect on the credit risk, while the credit risk has the effect on the company value. Thus this means that credit risk can be the intervening variable between GCG and the company value.Key Words : GCG, NPL dan PBV

Increasing company value is carried out by management (agents) who manage the company so that it triggers a conflict of interest so that Good Corporate Governance (GCG) is needed. One of the conflicts of interest is practicing earnings management. This study aims to analyze the effect of GCG on firm value mediated by earnings management. The sample used is 19 state-owned companies registered on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2017-2019. This study uses SEM-PLS analysis techniques to analyze data. The results showed that GCG had a negative effect on firm value and earnings management. Earnings management does not affect firm value. Earnings management, which is used as an intervening variable, cannot mediate the relationship between GCG and firm value. The limitations in this study are ignoring the variety of industries in BUMN, which may mean that each industry has different policies or practices on GCG and earnings management and different pressures from the market (investors).

The study assesses and compares the value relevance (VR) of accounting numbers in entities that experienced high discretionary accruals intensity and so possible earnings management (EM) behaviours, testing whether and in what extent the quality of enforcement and governance mechanisms act as moderating factors on the relation EM-VR. Based on a sample of 2 667 European non-financial entities, the results show that while the VR of earnings is low in entities that experienced high discretionary accruals intensity, book value increases its VR. The study also shows that the quality of enforcement mechanisms and the ownership diffusion (that proxies the quality of corporate governance) are effectively able to obstruct the loss of VR of earnings. The value added of the paper consists in showing that both the quality of enforcement and the ownership diffusion contrast only in part and in different manner the loss of VR of earnings, due to the presence of EM behaviours, acting only in part as moderating factors.

The research variables are (1) profit management, with proxy discretionary accruals modified jones; (2) Firm’s value, with proxy price to book value; and (3) good corporate governance, with proxy independent commissioner proportion and audit committee. This research used simple and moderated regression analysis method. The result indicates that earnings management has an impact on the Firms’ value and audit committee moderates the influence of earnings management to Firms’ value, whereas independent commissioner does not.

Profitability ( Dependent Variable ) in this research is proxied by Return on Assets ( ROA) .While the Independent Variable is The Quality Implementation of Good Corporate Governance obtained from Composite GCG Self Assessment Report Annual Islamic Banking, and Financing Risks are proxied by the Non -Performing Finance ( NPF ). The influence of the three variables and relationships are tested using multiple regression analysis. T-test SPSS results showed that the quality of the implementation of Good Corporate Governance has negative influence and significant toward profitability of Islamic banking. Non-Performing Finance has negative influence and significant toward profitability of Islamic banking. While the F-test SPSS results showed Implementation of Good Corporate Governance and Quality of Non-Performing Finance has negative influence and significant toward profitability of Islamic banking.
