“The Forum” is a group advising effort initiated to provide a more intrusive advising format for freshmen and sophomores who were on probation and reluctant to meet with their advisors. The Forum helped probationary students better understand the skills needed to maintain academic excellence. The results of the group activity suggest that it has been a significant retention tool.

Intrusive advising has been frequently used to encourage or require at-risk or probationary students to attend advising sessions. The efficacy of intrusive advising targeted to all students has received little attention. We implemented a case-control experiment with 501 first-year students at a large, urban, state university to test the efficacy of nonmandated intrusive advising designed to encourage advising session attendance. Students in three academic units were randomly assigned to outreach or no outreach conditions. Those in the outreach group received a series of reminders to schedule advising appointments. Results suggest intrusive advising was successful in increasing the probability students would schedule and keep an advising appointment during their first semester of college enrollment and in shortening the time until that appointment was held. Implications for broad implementation of intrusive advising are discussed.

In terms of student development, academic excellence in not the only main aims, but students must be educated holisticly to produce Malaysian citizens who are responsible; knowledgeable; have honourable manners, and be able to achieve personal well-being. Therefore, students with hearing impairments require special education system to suit their different necessities. Special education teachers should prepare themselves with various knowledge, expertise and skills to accomplish the national aspiration. In addition, cooperation, collaboration and support from parent, school management, medical expert and community are significantly required. Kata kunci: Halusinasi, tingkat kemandirian, terapi aktivitas kelompok, stimulasi persepsi AbstractHallucinations are positive symptoms most commontly experienced bypatients with psychiatric disorders. Perceptual stimulation therapy group activities are part of the therapeutic modalities that are given to patients with schizophrenia who experienced hallucinations in order to achieve independence of patient. This is a descriptive study which saw the picture of the level of independence of the patients in the control hallucinations after following stimulation group activity. The sampling technique used was consecutive sampling, in which 42 people were interviewed. The process of data collection using the method of observation, which in practice researchers assisted by the numerator. Analysis of the data with the percentage and frequency distribution are described in the table. The result showed that the level of independence of patient hallucinations in controlling halluciantions after following stimulation group activity therapy activity perception is supportive 28.6%, partially 61,9%, and wholly 9,5%. Based on the findings that majority of patients a level of independence that is partially, developed strategies necessary in an effort to increase the performance of nurses in the implementation of nursing actions that can foster patient independence.Key words:Level of independence, hallucination, therapeutic group activity stimulation perception

Subject. This article examines the practice of first-time applying the International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS) by Russian higher education institutions. Objectives. The article aims to identify and address the problems associated with such application, and conduct a critical analysis of Russian universities' compliance with the requirements of the International Standards on their first-time adoption. Methods. For the study, we used observation, systematization, and a comparative analysis. Results. The article examines and describes the practical experience of the first-time use of IPSAS in the preparation of reporting by Russian educational institutions participating in the Russian Academic Excellence Project (5Top100 Project). It presents the results of the most typical reclassification adjustments of reporting items made by the universities when preparing their inductive statements of financial position as of the date of transition to IPSAS. Conclusions and Relevance. Most of the universities studied complied with the requirements of the IPSAS first-time adoption and provided comparative information in their first IPSAS financial reporting. The importance of the study is to justify the provision that financial reporting in accordance with IPSAS is appropriate to improve the international competitiveness of universities, which makes it possible to better reflect financial information on the activities of universities. The results of the study can be used in the practical activities of the Russian economy public sector organizations, and in the educational process of higher education institutions.

Chitosan beads with colloidal silver nanoparticles inclued in the polymer matrix have been obtained by the introduction of chitosan into an acidified nanosilver sol. Dual interconnection of drops of the resulting solution was then carried out by ionotropic gelation at the first stage and covalent crosslinking of the polymer matrix with adipic acid at the second stage. The surface morphology of the obtained beads was studied by scanning electron microscopy. Data of Fourier transform IR spectroscopy confirmed the formation of covalent bonds between chitosan and adipic acid. The antibacterial activity of obtained beads against S. aureus and E. coli was evaluated using agar diffusion test. It was shown that the сhitosan beads modified with nanostructured silver exhibited an antibacterial effect against the tested strains, and they can be used as a basis for creating biodegradable wound healing dressings with a prolonged antibacterial effect. chitosan, silver nanoparticles, antibacterial activity, wound dressings This work was supported by the "Russian Academic Excellence Project 5-100".
