Objective: The aim of this study was to observe the influence of different occlusal contacts in a superior pre-molar structure using Finite Element Analysis. Material and Methods: A three-dimensional model of a superior pre-molar was designed to simulate three occlusion situations, namely central occlusion and two types of lateral occlusion contacts. The model presents enamel, dentin, a periodontal ligament and a fixation cylinder separately. All materials were considered isotropic, linear and homogeneous, and the contacts of each structure were perfectly bonded. On analysis software, a load was applied to an occlusal surface at 40° to the long axis on lateral contacts, and directed to the long axis on central occlusion contact. Results: The results were obtained in stress maps and the maximum values were then plotted in table for quantitative comparison, with the enamel concentrating more stress than dentin and the occlusal contact presenting the worst biomechanical behavior. Conclusion: Within the limitations of this study, it is possible conclude that: eccentric contacts have higher potential to develop abfraction lesions on the cervical region of teeth, thus increasing the magnitude of tensile and shear stresses.

Keywords

Finite Elements Analysis, Abfraction; Stress distribution; Occlusion, Premolar.

This paper is a further analysis of the strain tower on 1YD - JC4.After making a static analysis of 1YD - JC4 strain tower,we select the best offset point and make a dynamic analysis of it.Based on the finite element analysis software SAP2000, we set up a three-dimensional model of 1YD - JC4 strain tower of 110kv about heavy icing area, and then obtain the first six modal frequencies after making a dynamic analysis . We then draw the response spectrum curve.in the end, we select the safe and economic value of damping according to the curve.

The connecting rod is an important part in the engine cylinder. This paper studied the engine cylinder by using Pro/E and ANSYS and achieved some interest results. It used the Pro/E to establish three-dimensional model of the engine and to simulate on it. It also analyzes the connecting rod of cylinder by using the finite element analysis software ANSYS, its modal analysis method was put forward and the low natural frequency and vibration mode were calculated. The analysis method and the results can provide reference for the dynamic design of the connecting rod, and also provide a method for the fault diagnosis engine system.

The general situation and the future development of ballast cleaner are summarized. The principleand structureof RM80 ballast cleaner is introduced. The three-dimensional model of the frame has been established. By finite element analysis software the structural changes of the frame has been analyzed. The weak links of the frame are identified and the improvement methods are put forward.

This paper details work in assessing the capability of a hydrodynamic model to forecast surface currents and in applying data assimilation techniques to improve model forecasts. A three-dimensional model Environment Fluid Dynamics Code (EFDC) was forced with tidal boundary data and onshore wind data, and so forth. Surface current data from a high-frequency (HF) radar system in Galway Bay were used for model intercomparisons and as a source for data assimilation. The impact of bottom roughness was also investigated. Having developed a “good” water circulation model the authors sought to improve its forecasting ability through correcting wind shear stress boundary conditions. The differences in surface velocity components between HF radar measurements and model output were calculated and used to correct surface shear stresses. Moreover, data assimilation cycle lengths were examined to extend the improvements of surface current’s patterns during forecasting period, especially for north-south velocity component. The influence of data assimilation in model forecasting was assessed using a Data Assimilation Skill Score (DASS). Positive magnitude of DASS indicated that both velocity components were considerably improved during forecasting period. Additionally, the improvements of RMSE for vector direction over domain were significant compared with the “free run.”

New full hall scaffolds with pulley-clip style formwork support system is adopted in the concert hall of Changsha. This paper presents the concept of the complete equivalent initial imperfection according to the characteristics of too many influential factors on the high formwork supporting frame, then makes the complete equivalent initial imperfectione equivalent to assumed equivalent horizontal load in order to ensure the safety of the frame. At the same time, it gets a three-dimensional model by the general finite element software ANSYS 10.0. Based on the results of experiment and finite element analysis, it gets the recommended value of assumed equivalent horizontal load. The study on the high formwork supporting frame with pulley-clip style provides some reference for other similar projects.

This paper tries using Inventor software to create the three-dimensional model of the the palletizing robots operation rear arm, and then importing this model to ABAQUS to proceed finite element analysis of statics. We verified these two softwares interface issues, the correctness of the calculation method and the steps by analyzing. From analyzing we found the security issues in the operation rear arm. Then we checked and optimized the model for the issues. From the result, the optimized model meets the strength design requirements. The study has reference value for engineering and technical people.

This paper indicates a kind of research on the optimization of clamping scheme for the joint thin-walled parts in milling process .The three-dimensional model of four-flute end mill and the part are made by UG. The effect of different clamping scheme on the deformation of joint structure is simulated by the finite element analysis software ABAQUS. With the purpose of getting the minimum of the average deformation, MATLAB genetic algorithm optimizes the clamping scheme and acquires the best clamping scheme. The simulation and optimization provide an effective method for controlling the deformation due to different clamping scheme of aeronautic joint-shaped workpiece.

Based on the human engineering theory the structure of the new Basketball wheelchair is designed. And the three dimensional model is drawn by means of the PRO/E software after the design. Next, the finite element analysis computation on the wheelchair structure is completed under the four work conditions by I-DEAS software. The result shows that its intensity satisfies the operation requirements and proves that the new Basketball wheelchair is comfortable, safe and reliable. The research of this paper has a more vital significance for enhancing the performance of basketball wheelchair and the development level of sport wheelchair.

The basic structure of the piston hydraulic cylinder was introduced. A three-dimensional model was carried out for the hydraulic cylinder by using Pro/E soft, the finite element analysis to the largest hydraulic condition while hydraulic cylinder working by using ANSYS soft, and the distribution of the stress and strain of hydraulic cylinder was derived from it. It optimized the structure of hydraulic cylinder effectively and the cost was saved.
