In order to extend the discussion of entrepreneurship, this empirical study has indicated the crucial impact of entrepreneurial self-efficacy on entrepreneurial intentions of a person, while this relation is being moderated by ability based approach of emotional intelligence. Our findings have indicated the extent to which the students of business studies remain successful in exploring market opportunities and will turn into successful entrepreneurs under the umbrella of emotional Intelligence .Moreover it has also elucidated the influence of perceived social support in persuading self-employment. The sample of 260 business Students was taken from Pakistan. Research findings helped students witnessing those depicting higher level of emotional intelligence are more willing to take and tolerate risks and are eager to start up their own businesses .Results also revealed that risk propensity has moderate effects on entrepreneurial intentions. Implications are also being discussed for clear understanding of vitality of discussion.

Purpose The paper aims to investigate how the social entrepreneurial intention antecedents directly and indirectly affect social entrepreneurial intent. The participants of the study were Filipino and Indonesian university students from selected higher education institutions (HEIs). Design/methodology/approach A quantitative research design was used and partial least square-structural equation modeling was used to measure the direct and indirect effects of the structural model. Findings The results revealed that prior experience with social problems positively and significantly affects empathy, moral obligation, social entrepreneurial self-efficacy and perceived social support. Moreover, it was also found that social entrepreneurial self-efficacy and perceived social support positively and significantly affect social entrepreneurial intent, and these two antecedents mediate the positive relationship between prior experience with social problems and social entrepreneurial intent. Research limitations/implications As the present study only examined social entrepreneurial intentions among Filipino and Indonesian university students, other researchers may test the framework in another locale. Others may find interest in identifying the significant difference in social entrepreneurial intent among between or among nations. Practical implications The findings of the present study can benefit HEIs in terms of offering social entrepreneurship programs and courses. The role of HEIs is truly important. Providing an avenue for students for them to be socially entrepreneurial and empowering them to be future social entrepreneurs can truly help in sustainably promoting social entrepreneurship. These can be done by designing relevant learning materials and requirements that will permit students to be social venture creators. Social implications Based on this study, if these students were exposed to social entrepreneurship activities during their university life (prior experience), then the propensity for them to be social venture creators in high. With the myriad problems in the Philippines and Indonesia, exposure to social problems is evident. Through proper inculcation of social entrepreneurial spirit, Filipino and Indonesian students will greatly create massive impact in the landscape of Asian social entrepreneurship. Originality/value The present study offers a new perspective on social entrepreneurial intentions, as it is in Asian setting. It also provides a viewpoint where only social entrepreneurial self-efficacy and perceived social support positively affect social entrepreneurial intent and, at the same time, act as mediators between prior experience with social problem and social entrepreneurial intent. With these results, it enriches the theoretical foundations of social entrepreneurship.

This study aimed to examine the subject of emotional intelligence (EI), which has received increased attention from scholars over the past few decades. The study utilized a quantitative longitudinal approach to attain the objective of understanding the correlation between EI and psychological well-being. A sample consisting of only male students was sought in this study in a process that was guided by specific criteria. The study reveals that students’ EI correlates positively with perceived social support and well-being at each time and across times. Negative relations are found between perceived stress and well-being at each time and across times. Results and findings reported in this study reveal that perceived social support partially mediates the longitudinal association between EI and well-being. Specifically, perceived stress does not mediate the longitudinal association between EI and well-being.

This study examines self-efficacy and subjective norms (moral obligation, empathy, and perceived social support) as moderators of the effect networking competence has on social entrepreneurial intentions. Using Nigeria as a study area, a survey was conducted on 541 budding entrepreneurs, which were students with a high entrepreneurial propensity. With the use of Andrew Hayes’s PROCESS macro, a simultaneous regression analysis was performed to establish the interaction effect of the selected moderators. The results show a positive main effect of networking competence on social entrepreneurial intentions, statistically significant interaction effects of empathy and perceived social support, no interaction effect of moral obligation, and a poor self-efficacy fit. This study extends theories of entrepreneurial intentions and the mediation (additive) models of Mair & Noboa, Krueger, and Hockerts. Suggestions are that other studies should be carried out using self-efficacy among actual early-level entrepreneurs, with a likelihood that results could explain what role self-efficacy could have in predicting social entrepreneurial intentions.

This study investigated the impact of the use of social networking sites on university graduate students’ green sustainable entrepreneurial intentions by developing a mediating effect. This study provided a research framework using Ajzen’s theory of planned behavior and Shapero’s model to illustrate the relationship between self-efficacy and risk propensity towards green and sustainable entrepreneurial intentions. This research model posited a relationship between the use of social networking sites and green and sustainable entrepreneurship intentions with a mediating role of risk propensity and self-efficacy. The structural questionnaire was adopted, validated, and disseminated to the 300 respondents of university students. This study’s findings confirmed that there was a significant positive effect of the use of social networking sites on green and sustainable entrepreneurship intentions with the indirect impact of risk propensity and self-efficacy. These substantial outcomes have essential practices and academic implications for representatives, policy makers, and entrepreneurial institutes, such as how to direct the use of such relative niche technologies for communication and the role of the internet to promote green and sustainable entrepreneurial practices among young people.

Abstract. The present study aims at identifying the social entrepreneurial intention among undergraduates students in Bung Hatta University context by using the theory of planned bahaviour as the research framework. A 10-questionnaire was responded by 150 studens of Bung Hatta University. The data were collected by purposive random sampling method. The questions measured perceived social support, attitude towards becoming a social entrepreneur, and social entrepreneurial intention. The result shows that attitude towards becoming a social entrepreneur full mediation between perceived social support to social entrepreneurial intention. Perceived social support and attitude towards becoming a social entrepreneur showed the positive significant relationship with social entrepreneurial intentions. This research study contributes to the social entrepreneurship literature by introductiong perceived social support and attitude towards becoming a social entrepreneur as antecedents that also explains social entrepreneurial intention formation. In today’s world the term “Entrepreneurship” is garnering great attention as it leads to value creation and help the countries on their journey towards achieving economic prosperity. Yet, to date the research determining the combined impact of various environmental, emotional and psycho-social factors on entrepreneurial intentions is scarce. This study examines how the perception of backing and assistance received by social networks; personal as well as professional shape entrepreneurial intentions. Current study explores the mediating role of a cognitive factor that is self-efficacy and a direct relation of a psycho-social factor that is self-esteem on entrepreneurial intention. With a sample of 192 students the model was tested using multiple regression analysis. The findings reveal that social networks and emotional intelligence has a significant role in determining entrepreneurial intentions. Self-efficacy was found to mediate both the relations, while the relation between positive self-esteem and entrepreneurial intention could not be proved. The study creates useful suggestions and awareness for the academic domain as well as policy makers in this region.

This study examined how empathy, moral obligation, social entrepreneurial self-efficacy, perceived social support, and prior experience with social problems are associated with social entrepreneurial intentions. Through a survey, a sample of 252 Hong Kong students was used for analyses. Factor analyses supported that the antecedents of social entrepreneurial intentions could be divided into dimensions of empathy, moral obligation, social entrepreneurial self-efficacy, perceived social support, and prior experience with social problems. Multiple regression analysis results indicated that perceived social support was the most prominent antecedent of social entrepreneurial intentions, followed by moral obligation, empathy, and prior experience with social problems. Notably, moral obligation was revealed to be negatively associated with social entrepreneurial intentions.

Entrepreneurship is an important factor which lead towards the self-employment and while doing this can potentially reduce the unemployment. Which has become a giant problem globally. Considering the importance of the issue present study has attempted to analyze that how do the entrepreneurship education and emotional intelligence lead towards the entrepreneurial intentions. Additionally, self-efficacy was considered as a potential mediator. Data were collected from the engineering students by using the convenience sampling. Statistical analysis was performed by using Smart-PLS. The results of the study reported a positive relationship between entrepreneurship education and entrepreneurial intentions of the students. Relationship between emotional intelligence and entrepreneurial education was also supported by the study results. The relationship between selfefficacy and entrepreneurial intentions was proved to be strongest of all by the study results. Finally the study results have supported all the mediation relationships between the variables. Practical implications and future research areas are provided at the end.
