The Implementation of Fieldwork Program Based Lesson Study to Improve Pedagogical Skills of Teachers and Students Learning Outcomes

The main purpose of this research was to explain how the implementation of Fieldwork Program (Praktik Pengalaman Lapangan/PPL) based lesson study can be improve pedagogical skills of teachers and students learning outcomes. The study was conducted based on basic question, how to improve teachers’ skills and students’ learning outcome. This research is a class action research that uses descriptive qualitative approach. The research is conducted in PGRI Vocational School in Malang, Indonesia, with 33 students (eleventh grade) and one teacher who became a model teacher. The instruments used in this research such as (1) the execution sheet of the lesson study steps which includes 3 steps such as plan, do, and reflection (see), (2) learning observation sheet, (3) teacher pedagogic skill assessment form that contains the assessment aspect as well as the teacher pedagogic indicator (PPL students) during learning process, (4) cognitive test questions used is quiz (post test), (5) supporting data such as students’ responses questionnaire and field notes. The results showed that implementation of PPL based lesson study can improve pedagogical skills of teacher from 69,4 to 77,75 point. The increase of teachers pedagogical skills have an impact on students learning outcomes. Students learning outcome can be reflect on classical completeness class, raised from 68,73% to 87,96%. Based on these results can be concluded that the implementation of PPL based lesson study can improve teachers pedagogical skills and students learning outcomes. This research will strengthen the rationale for using lesson as an alternative method to increase teachers’ skill (especially on pedagogical skill) and students learning outcome.

This research aims to improve student learning outcomes on mathematics learning by using a contextual approach. This research is a Class Action Research (CAR) conducted at one of the vocational schools (SMK) in X-class areas of focus on Automation of Governance and Office 3. The research instruments used in this study are (1) tests consisting of pre-test and post-test of the concept of Sigma notation and infinite series; and (2) the use of an observation sheet for teachers and students as a condition of measuring action execution. The procedure of the study consists of (1) planning, (2) The implementation of Action, (3) observation, (4) evaluation, and (5) reflection. The test results showed that there was an increase in pre-test and post-test results of 19.33%. Obviously, this shows that students ' learning outcomes on math learning are increasing after learning using a contextual approach.

This research aims to explain and describe the improvement of students' learning outcomes by using Discovery Method in dance learning at SMP Negeri 3 Padang. This research belongs to Class Action Research (PTK). This research was conducted in 2 cycles. Cycle I was conducted in three meetings and cycle II was conducted in two meetings. The instruments used in this study were knowledge tests (cognitive) and skill tests (psychomotors). The data used were primary and secondary data.  The data were collected through literature study, observation, learning outcome tests (performance test), and documentation. The data analysis was done by using percentage formula. The results show that the use of discovery method in Culture and Arts learning, especially dance learning in grade VIII.3 of SMP Negeri 3 Padang, can improve students’ learning outcomes, and the students are directly involved in learning, especially dance practice learning. With the support of media, the students’ disinterest in the learning process can be avoided. It can also foster student creativity, and learning is more enjoyable because of the existence of media used by teachers. This is proven by the study results of grade VIII.3 students in cycle I. The overall students’ learning results of psychomotor and cognitive test are 57.74. In cycle II, the overall students’ learning results of psychomotor and cognitf are 87.58. Thus, there has been an increase in the results of dance learning using discovery method, and the targets have been successfully achieved.Keywords: Improving, Learning Outcomes, Dance Art, Discovery Method

Empowering collaborative skills and optimizing learning outcomes are essential goals in every course. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of Think-Pair-Square (TPS) learning model on student collaborative skills and their cognitive learning outcomes. This study was Lesson-Study-based Classroom Action Research (CAR) carried out in two cycles. The subjects of this study consisted of 32 students who took Animal Diversity course. The CAR consisted of four phases i.e. planning, action, observation, and reflection. At the action phase, Lesson Study (LS) was conducted and consist of Plan, Do, and See. The instruments used were LS observation sheet, collaborative observation sheet, and cognitive test. The observation and test results of the both cycles were calculated and compared each other. There were improvements in the both student’s collaborative skills and cognitive learning outcome as high as 14% and 7.56, respectively. Therefore, TPS model can strengthen the student’s collaborative skills and cognitive learning outcome.

The problem examined was how student learning outcomes in observation text writing could be increased through the use of the concept map strategy in ClassVII-3 of SMP N 2 Peusangan Siblah Krueng, Bireuen. This study aimed to improve student learning outcomes in observation text writing using the concept map strategy in Class VII-3 of SMP N 2 Peusangan Siblah Krueng, Bireuen. The approaches used in this study were the qualitative research hand the Class Action Research (PTK). Data collected in the study came from the pre-testand post test, observation, and field notes. Techniques of data analysis were data reduction, data collection, and drawing conclusions. The results showed that the implementation of the Indonesian language learning can enhance the activities of teachers and students. The results of observations ofthe activities of teachers and students in the implementation of the cycle I action obtained an average percentage of 73.7%. However, in terms of the results, the implementation of the first cycle had not been successful because the students obtaining the score of ≥ 65 were only16 students, with the class completeness of 80%. Thus, the researcher conducted arepetition cycle, and was successful. The results ofobservations ofteachers and studentsinthe second cycle earned the average percentage of 83.3%, and reached 89.2% of classical completeness. Further more, in terms ofthe results, the implementation ofthe second cycleshowedthat theimplementation of the Indonesian language learning with the concept map scould improve the student achievement in Writing Observation Text. This can be seen from the percentage of students who received ≥ 65 classically were 89.2%, with the class average of 83.3. Thus, the concept map strategy applied can enhance the activities of teachers and students in learning Indonesian on Writing Observation Text in Class VII-3 of SMP N 2 Peusangan Siblah Krueng, Bireuen district. This study is a class action that aims to improve learning outcomes in subjects PPKn sixth grade students of SDN 002 Ukui Dua. This research is motivated by the low activity and low teacher and student learning outcomes in subjects PPKn. The problem of this study is whether the implementation of a strategy to answer alternately patterned circle round robin can improve student learning outcomes in subjects PPKn in the sixth grade SDN 002 Ukui Dua? This PPKn was conducted over two cycles. Data collection techniques in this research using collection observation techniques, achievement test, and documentation. Techniques of analysis in this study is an analysis of the activities of teachers and students and learning outcomes in subjects PPKn sixth grade students SDN 02 Ukui Dua Kecamatant Ukui. The result showed that the activity of teachers has increased. At the first meeting of the first cycle of 41% was obtained with Simply Perfect category and the second meeting reached 55% with the category Fairly Perfect. In the second cycle 3 meeting to reach 75% by the Perfect category and the 4th meeting of the second cycle reaches 85% with the Perfect category. While the activity of students has increased. At the first meeting of the first cycle reaches 51% with the category Fairly Perfect and the second meeting with the percentage of 66% to the category Perfect. After the second cycle of the third meeting with a percentage of 75% with the Perfect category while in attendance for-4 with the percentage of 94% to the category of Most Perfect. Learning outcomes of students also increased from the previous students who achieve KKM only 8 votes with a percentage (45%) after the first cycle an increase in students worth over KKM which reached 14 people with a percentage of 70%. Cycle II students who achieve KKM 17 (85%).

In classical learning approach, conventional lecture method is commonly used by teachers in implementing learning process in classes.  The teacher becomes the main source of learning.  The current student’s habit that tends to be passive and individualistic resulted in a passive and monotone learning.      To overcome these problems, I was interested to implement the model of numbered heads together in learning Physics in the Class VII B of SMP Negeri 5 Kota Jambi. The purpose of this learning approach is to enable students to develop cooperative skill and more active learning of physics and to improve learning results. This research is a class action research, which were performed in two cycles.  All students’ activities in the class were observed and recorded in observation sheet, consisting of teacher observation sheet and student observation sheet. To find out the learning outcomes, formative test was performed using a written instrument form.  The results show the increase of students’ discipline, cooperation, liveliness, timeliness in learning Physics.  In addition, the learning model also increases the students’ learning outcomes. The average learning results increased to 75.38 (increase 3.25 points).  To conclude, the implementation of Number Head Together increase students’ discipline, cooperation, activities, and timeliness.  The model also increase the Physics learning outcome of student in SMP Negeri 5 Kota  Jambi.

This study aims to improve the activity and results of student learning in the subject of Anatomy Plant through a comparative study  model based lesson study. The method used is classroom action research with 4 cycles. Samples used  in this study is the third semester students of regular education courses Biology FKIP Veteran Bangun Nusantara University Sukoharjo force 2012/2013 as many as 24 people. The study began in November 2013 and April 2014. The learning activities were observed in the form of discussion and presentation activities, while learning outcomes measured were the post-test results after completion of the learning process of each cycle. Data analysis techniques with comparative descriptive, comparing the results of learning and learning activity cycle with the cycle I to IV. From the  results of this study concluded that the average post-test or study results from Cycle I to IV increased starting 3.47, 3.72, 3.73 and 3.85, though in terms of learning activities is still not satisfactory because it only categorized quite active for the first cycle to the active cycle III and cycle IV. The aim to be achieved in this study was to determine the increase in activity and student learning outcomes in the application of lesson study based multi-representational learning in linear program subjects. The type of research is class action research which consists of the steps of preparation, implementation, observation and reflection. The research subjects were Madura University mathematics education study program students in semester 6. The instruments used included validator assessment sheets for learning devices, observation sheets of student activities during the learning process, observation sheets of lecturers' ability to manage learning, questionnaires sheets of student responses to the implementation of learning and test results learn. Based on the results of the study, there was an increase in student activity from 3.16 in cycle 1, 3.31 in cycle 2, to 3.67 in cycle 3. The learning outcome test also increased from 63.2% in cycle 1, 78.94% at cycle 2 becomes 89.47% in cycle 3. So it can be concluded that lesson study based multi-presentation learning can improve student learning outcomes in linear program subjects.

This study aims to determine the application of smart card-playing techniques to improve learning motivation and learning outcomes of science learners. The medium used is a smart card, a card which contains information contained in the subject matter learning objectives are packaged in the form of questions and answers. The research was conducted in SMP Negeri 1 Temanggung learners of class VIII G in 2nd semester Academic Year 2014/2015. The method used is a Class Action Research. Data collection methods used were questionnaires, pre-test and post-test. The research data in the form of learning outcomes IPA concept of test and motivation to learn is obtained from the questionnaire motivation. Statistical analysis showed in the first cycle an average yield is 56,67of pretest increased to an average is 70,58of posttes; the second cycle average is 62,24of pretest increased to an average is 80,86of posttest and third cycle average is 70,26 of pretest increased to an average is 84,24 of posttest While the motivation of learners increased by 86% from the prior-treated. The problem studied was how the application of the CTL model could improve the ability to describe a fable in Class VIII-6 of SMPN 2 Peusangan. This study aimed to improve the ability to describe a fable in the class through the CTL model. The benefit of this research included improving fable describing ability on Class VIII-6 students of SMP Negeri 2 Peusangan through the application of the CTL model. The approaches used in this study were the qualitative research and the Class Action Research (PTK). Data collected in the study came from the pre-test and post test, observation, interviews, and field notes. The results showed that the implementation of narrative essay writing with the CTL approach could increase the activities of teachers and students. The results of observations of the teachers and students activities in the implementation of the cycle I action obtained and average percentage of 80.4%. However, in terms of the results, the implementation of the first cycle of action had not been successful because the students obtained the value of ≥ 65 were 68.6%, with 56% of class completeness. Thus, the researcher conducted a repetition cycle. The results of observations of teachers and students in the second cycle of action earned the average percentage of 84.2%, and reached 88% of classical completeness. Moreover, in terms of the results, the implementation of the second cycle showed that teaching narrative essay writing by applying the CTL model could improve students' writing on the fable describing materials. This can be seen from the percentage of the students who received ≥ 65 classically were 88%, with the class average of 84.2. Therefore, the CTL model used could increase the activities of teachers and students in fable describing in Class VIII-6 students of SMP Negeri 2 Peusangan, Bireuen district.
