This research examines what impact the Big Data Processing Framework (BDPF) has on Artificial Intelligence (AI) applications within Corporate Marketing Communication (CMC), and thereby the research question stated is: What is the potential impact of the BDPF on AI applications within the CMC tactical and managerial functions? To fulfill the purpose of this research, a qualitative research strategy was applied, including semi-structured interviews with experts within the different fields of examination: management, AI technology and CMC. The findings were analyzed through performing a thematic analysis, where coding was conducted in two steps. AI has many useful applications within CMC, which currently mainly are of the basic form of AI, so-called rule-based systems. However, the more complicated communication systems are used in some areas. Based on these findings, the impact of the BDPF on AI applications is assessed by examining different characteristics of the processing frameworks. The BDPF initially imposes both an administrative and compliance burden on organizations within this industry, and is particularly severe when machine learning is used. These burdens foremost stem from the general restriction of processing personal data and the data erasure requirement. However, in the long term, these burdens instead contribute to a positive impact on machine learning. The timeframe until enforcement contributes to a somewhat negative impact in the short term, which is also true for the uncertainty around interpretations of the BDPF requirements. Yet, the BDPF provides flexibility in how to become compliant, which is favorable for AI applications. Finally, BDPF compliance can increase company value, and thereby incentivize investments into AI models of higher transparency. The impact of the BDPF is quite insignificant for the basic forms of AI applications, which are currently most common within CMC. However, for the more complicated applications that are used, the BDPF is found to have a more severe negative impact in the short term, while it instead has a positive impact in the long term.

The aim of this meta-analysis was to review the impact of a Paleolithic diet (PD) on selected health indicators (body composition, lipid profile, blood pressure, and carbohydrate metabolism) in the short and long term of nutrition intervention in healthy and unhealthy adults. A systematic review of randomized controlled trials of 21 full-text original human studies was conducted. Both the PD and a variety of healthy diets (control diets (CDs)) caused reduction in anthropometric parameters, both in the short and long term. For many indicators, such as weight (body mass (BM)), body mass index (BMI), and waist circumference (WC), impact was stronger and especially found in the short term. All diets caused a decrease in total cholesterol (TC), low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), and triglycerides (TG), albeit the impact of PD was stronger. Among long-term studies, only PD cased a decline in TC and LDL-C. Impact on blood pressure was observed mainly in the short term. PD caused a decrease in fasting plasma (fP) glucose, fP insulin, and homeostasis model assessment of insulin resistance (HOMA-IR) and glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) in the short run, contrary to CD. In the long term, only PD caused a decrease in fP glucose and fP insulin. Lower positive impact of PD on performance was observed in the group without exercise. Positive effects of the PD on health and the lack of experiments among professional athletes require longer-term interventions to determine the effect of the Paleo diet on athletic performance.

This study examines the long-term effects of parental international migration on the schooling of children left behind in Pakistan. Although parents' migration usually benefits children economically but the lack of parental care may cause relational and psychological problems that may affect children's welfare in the long term. The locale of the present study is district Gujrat where the labor migration is considered as the best viable way to cope with an increasing poverty and the scarcity of public resources for sustaining households' incomes. To gain the objectives of the study, a mix methods approach has been used for the collection and analysis of data. In the present study the impact of migration on the education of the children was measured through their enrolment in school, type of institution and level of investment on education, dropout from the school, level of achievement. The results show that parental migration has a positive impact on the enrolment of children and investment on education, but it has negative impact on the dropout and level of achievement especially in case of boys.

Author analyzes the impact of foreign direct investment on domestic investment in host developing countries and checks whether a foreign direct investment has a “positive” or “negative” impact on domestic investment, as well as evaluating the impact of selected variables on this relationship. Using a full sample, the main conclusion of this study is that FDI does have a positive (crowding out) effect on domestic investment in this sample of developing economies. In the short term, an increase in FDI by one percentage point as a percentage of GDP leads to an increase in total investment as a percentage of the host country’s GDP of about 10.7%, while in the long term this effect is about 31% dollar terms, one US dollar represents us 1.7$ of total investment in the short term and us 3.1$ in the long term. Based on the results of this study, it was once again proved that inflation hinders domestic investment in host countries by 0.04% and 0.12% in the short and long term, respectively.

Economic development in a country is indicated by an increase in the number of industrial sectors and other supporting facilities such as transportation. However, there is another impact on developments industrial sectors and transportation, especially environmental degradation. Air pollution is one of the environmental degradation. This research was conducted to determine the short-term and long-term environmental impact of industry and transport in Indonesia. The data analysis method in this research used Autoregressive Distribution Lag (ARDL) to see the short-term and long-term effects between research variables. The data used are data on CO2 emissions, the amount of industries and transport in Indonesia from 1965 - 2018. The results showed that the industry had a negative impact on increasing CO2 emissions in the short and long term. Meanwhile, transportation has a positive impact in the short term and a negative impact in the long term.

The purpose of this paper is to investigate the impact of capital structure decisions on the performance of the firm. The investigation has been performed using a data of 62 listed non-financial Egyptian firms over a period of fourteen years from 2003-2016. This study used two measures for performance the dependent variable which are ROA and ROE, the most common used measures agreed upon on the majority of previous studies. Whereas, for the independent variable “the capital structure, the study uses the three measures of capital structure which are total debt to total assets (TD), total short-term debt to total assets (STD), and total long-term debt to total assets (LTD). The results showed when using ROA as a measure of performance, a significant negative impact of capital structure (TD, STD, and LTD) exists; while in case of using ROE as a measure of performance, there’s a significant negative impact of capital structure only when using STD, otherwise a positive significant impact of capital structure exist.

The article explores the impact of government spending on the key components of economic activity in Russia, such as private consumption and investment. The author pays serious attention to the theoretical justifications of the possible impact of fiscal policy on economic growth and its components, as well as reviews the empirical results obtained in this area. In the empirical part of the article, government expenditures are represented by the “GDP by expenditure” items — government consumption and government investment. The results, for Russian data covering the period of 1995—2017, indicate a short-term positive impact of government spending on private consumption and a negative impact on private investment. It also proves important to take into consideration the changes in macroeconomic conditions that occurred approximately in the middle of the observed period.

Oak is a European tree species highly sensitive to drought. If declining symptoms appear they are often detectable at the crown (such as dieback) enabling monitoring using aerial images and remote sensing methods. Here, we analyzed the impact of short and long-term drought on oaks located in central Poland, between the years of 2014 and 2017. We used leaf nitrogen (N) and phosphorus (P) concentrations measured in the laboratory, aerial images collected in the range of 460-880 nm and machine learning techniques to estimate nutrient concentrations on the > 4000 oaks growing on gleysoil in the study area. We determined a negative impact on N and P concentrations during both types of drought stress (-23% and 19% for N concentration in leaves; -27% and -10% for P concentration in leaves) and an inconsiderable impact on N:P values (3% increase of N:P ration during short and 7% decrease of N:P ration during long-term drought stress). We found that the long-term drought impact was spatially diverse, possibly depending on the presence of drainage ditches and competing species.
