This study aimed to exhibit the relationship between the altruism levels, communication skills and problem solving skills of the elementary education and secondary education teachers. The study population consisted of 725 teachers at Sinop Provincial Center during 2015-2016- school year, and the sample consisted of 452 teachers selected by simple random sampling method. This study was conducted based on the relational screening model. As a result of the conducted research, the relationship coefficient between the altruism scores and problem solving skills of the elementary education teachers was found as .17 and it was seen that this relationship was in the same direction and insignificant (p=.05; n=132). Similarly, the relationship coefficient between the altruism levels and communication skills of the teachers at the first level of elementary education was found as .23 and it was seen that the said relationship was in the same direction and significant (p=.01; n=132). The relationship coefficient between the altruism scores and problem solving skills of the secondary education teachers was found as -.15 and it was seen that this relationship was in the opposite direction and significant (p=.03; n=182). According to the acquired results, conducting similar studies to deal with the significance of the altruism behaviors of teachers in education can be recommended.

Abstract: The purpose of this research is to improve critical and problem solving skills, collaboration skills, communication skills, and creativity and innovation skills (4C) in grade XI students in Statistical Learning with the Implementation of Collaborative Learning Methods. The research method used is experimentation, which is divided into two classes namely experimental class and control class. The sample technique we used was probability sampling, the samples taken in this study came from an affordable population of smk N 1 Wanayasa students in grade XI TKJ A and XI TKJ B in the 2020/2021 school year, with each student from the experimental class and control class of 24 students. Thus, the number of samples used was 48 students. Data collection techniques are carried out by giving pretes and postest questions for Statistics material in improving 4C capability using Collaborative Learning learning models. Test the research hypothesis using t-test and obtained the results of t > t table. Therefore, it can be concluded that there is a role of Collaborative Learning learning methods on Statistics material in improving 4C skills. Collaborative Learning methods can be an alternative for teachers in carrying out learning to create an active, effective and not boring learning atmosphere.

Engineering education has become challenging compared to previous decade, the readiness of graduates before entering employement world is vital for the academician. Students are expected to possess all generic skill sets as needed by a qualified engineer including knowledge profile, engineering ability, communication, teamwork, and other relevant skills. In Malaysia, engineering graduates should possess 12 programme outcomes (PO) according to ETAC requirement, throughout the whole curriculum structure in diploma level. However, capstone course in Diploma Civil Engineering in UiTM only measures 3 main programme outcomes which are problem solving and scientific skills, communication skills, and ethics in engineering. The implementation of capstones course is reviewed for 3 consecutive semesters and student attaintment based on grade and programe outcomes is observed. This paper provides the assesment tools that had been mapped to programme outcomes through out 14 week lesson plan for final year students in Diploma Civil Engineering. This study was conducted in UiTM Pasir Gudang to measure the attainment of student’s skill set based on programme outcomes stated in the syllabus. It shows that, a graduate is considered to be good in communication skills and ethics in engineering but average in problem solving skills and scientific skills. Thus, a few recomandations have been made to improve the skills attainment among students at the faculty level.

The COVID-19 pandemic has forced millions of students to stay indoors and adapt to the new normal, namely distance learning at home, placing online learning in the spotlight. However, students’ motivation for online learning and its effectiveness in skill development during the COVID-19 pandemic has not been widely studied. This study examined the relationship between students’ fear of COVID-19 and students’ social presence in online learning while investigating the parallel mediating role of student psychological motivation and cognitive problem-solving skills related to online learning. The participants were 472 university students in Malaysia and Pakistan. An online data collection technique using Google Forms was employed. Faculty members of the universities were asked to share the survey with their students. Moreover, using a snowball sampling technique, students were requested to share the survey with their friends. SPSS Statistics (Version 21)  was employed to do preliminary data analysis, AMOS (Version 21) software was used to conduct confirmatory factor analysis using a maximum likelihood estimation, and Hayes’ PROCESS model was used to examine proposed hypotheses. The results show that only cognitive problem solving mediates the relationship between fear of COVID-19 and students’ social presence in online learning in Malaysian samples. In Pakistan, cognitive problem solving and psychological motivation mediate the relationship between fear of COVID-19 and students’ social presence in online learning. The study found that developing cognitive problem-solving skills and providing psychological motivation could enhance their engagement with online learning.
