An intellectual capital and knowledge is one of the basic and very important resources for modern organizations in light of the knowledge economy. It is another form of capital recognized in the new economy. The intellectual and cognitive capital consists of the basic components represented by the experiences, skills, knowledge and capabilities that individuals working within organizations possess, which have a clear and profound effect on determining the success of the organizations from their failure. The results showed that there are strong correlations between the independent variable with its dimensions represented by intellectual capital and knowledge capital and between the dependent variable represented in investment in natural resources, as well as there is a strong relationship between the independent variable with its dimensions represented by intellectual capital and knowledge capital and between the dependent variable represented in investment in resources. Accordingly, a set of recommendations were presented that can contribute to improving the level of investment. Its role in achieving the best investments for the natural resources is found underground through the interest in the human resource, which is one of the most important reasons for the success of organizations and the first element in achieving the well-being of society, as the more the human resource He has the knowledge, skill and ability to optimally utilize natural resources whenever this is one of the most important factors for the success of organizations. In addition, organizations today have to pay attention and benefit from the intellectual and knowledge capital, especially in developing countries. The necessary requirements must also be provided

In the past few decades, the economy has moved from an industrial to a knowledge economy. Consequently, basic factors of production now no longer comprise only natural resources, capital and labour, but also intellectual capital. Despite the shift from an industrial to a knowledge economy, the accounting framework and financial reporting have not changed sufficiently to include intellectual capital. The research problem attempts to explore whether the theory of accounting should be modified for a standardised and comparable approach when accounting and reporting on intellectual capital. To solve the research problem, a literature review and content analysis on corporate annual reports were used. The results of this study indicate that the theory of accounting should be modified to ensure a standardised and comparable approach when accounting and reporting on intellectual capital in corporate annual reports.

The paper shows that to date, intangible assets are considered "goods" and as such, the practice of classical accounting consider intellectual capital in the same category of "goods equivalent / similar to those visible / tangible". From research that literature on measuring knowledge assets / intellectual capital, both in Romania and worldwide, is not large enough and does not provide finite significant "strong" on classifications semantic of the content and quality issues in the field. The book titled New Economy between knowledge and risk – Infomin Ed., Deva, 2010 (www.infomindeva.ro) (ISBN 978-973-7646-11-8), (Ioan I. Gâf-Deac)  presents systematization and classification of original models and methodologies for measuring knowledge assets, intellectual capital in socio-economic sciences, and as such, in this present article resorting to the extension applied to formalizing measurement of intangible assets in areas operation and exploitation of natural resources.

As some of the Arab countries are already facing the post-oil era in relation to the trends taking place in mining and in the oil and gas industries, with future possibilities of exhaustion of oil and gas reserves, diversification of economic activities has been emerging in some of these economies. However, the creation of new portfolios has not been expanded outside the traditional spectrum of economic activities. Besides that, governments and of public sovereign funds are still playing an important role both domestically and internationally, implying that rents from natural resources are still promising sources for economic development. This chapter addresses a series of issues related to how rents are driving the development path in relation to access of most world countries to the gains from the new economy. It also shows how knowledge variables have been related to the rents obtained from natural resources. Finally, the hypotheses in relation to natural resources as a curse to knowledge development are tested in the present chapter.

Sustainable intellectual capital, in the new economy, is becoming a key determinant of sustainable growth and development of enterprises. This is an important precondition for gaining a sustainable competitive advantage of a modern enterprise. It is intellectual capital that includes knowledge aimed at solving environmental issues. Also, these intangible assets of enterprises include the so-called green innovations that contribute to the sustainability of enterprise business. Moreover, successful enterprises are expected to adopt corporate social responsibility strategies, and as a result, the concepts of sustainable intellectual capital and green intellectual capital are being developed. The aim of this paper is to present the basic characteristics of the modern approach to intellectual capital in the era of knowledge economy, i.e. to point out important elements of the concept of sustainable intellectual capital and the concept of green intellectual capital.

The demand structure of resources for new economy is different from the traditional one in that its development may significantly change China’s economic location map and spatial pattern. Based on 343 administrative units of prefecture-level cities in China, this research constructs the measurement index system of terrestrial surface natural resources under the orientation of the new economic demands; this research mainly analyses the spatial distribution characteristics and geographical mechanism of natural resources by means of the spatial autocorrelation and spatial similarity calculation methods. The results show that: (1) The structure and endowment of natural resources under the orientation of the new economic demands need to be reexamined. The significance of a good environment and ecological resources has been highlighted. The coupling of resource elements better reveals the availability of natural resources. (2) The natural resources decrease from southeast to northwest, showing a pattern of “abundant in the south and east and scarce in the north and west”. Natural resources have a significant positive correlation in spatial distribution with two types of agglomeration: high-high agglomeration and low-low agglomeration, showing the local agglomeration feature of “high in the south and low in the north”. (3) Natural factors such as temperature, precipitation and altitude affect the spatial distribution of natural resources, with the temperature being the most significant. This indicates that the original natural environment and its role are the geographical mechanism for the formation and distribution of natural resources. The results could provide a reference for the development and the optimization of China’s new economy.

Background: Several measures have been developed to examine acute psychedelic effects (e.g. mystical-type and challenging experiences), but no measure assesses acute psychologically insightful experiences that may occur during psychedelic experiences. Aim: The purpose of this study was to develop and examine the psychometric properties of the Psychological Insight Questionnaire. Method: A cross-sectional survey study among psilocybin and LSD users. Respondents ( n=1661; Mage=22.9, standard deviation=8.5; Caucasian/White=83%; non-Hispanic=91%; men=72%; United States resident=66%) completed an Internet-based survey. Results: The Psychological Insight Questionnaire consists of 23 items with two subscales: (a) Avoidance and Maladaptive Patterns Insights and (b) Goals and Adaptive Patterns Insights. Construct validity of the Psychological Insight Questionnaire was supported by strong correlations of the Psychological Insight Questionnaire (and Avoidance and Maladaptive Patterns Insights and Goals and Adaptive Patterns Insights subscales) scores with the insight subscale of the Session Impacts Scale, and weak-to-moderate correlations with the Mystical Experiences and Challenging Experiences Questionnaires. Furthermore, Psychological Insight Questionnaire (and Avoidance and Maladaptive Patterns Insights and Goals and Adaptive Patterns Insights subscales) scores were moderately-to-strongly correlated with retrospectively reported increases in psychological flexibility, and well-being/life satisfaction that were attributed to a memorable psychedelic experience. Lastly, incremental validity was established showing that the Psychological Insight Questionnaire (and Avoidance and Maladaptive Patterns Insights subscale) scores predict unique variance in changes in psychological flexibility, and Psychological Insight Questionnaire (and Avoidance and Maladaptive Patterns Insights and Goals and Adaptive Patterns Insights subscales) scores predict changes in well-being and life satisfaction, beyond measures of acute mystical-type and challenging effects. Conclusions: The Psychological Insight Questionnaire has the potential to extend the understanding of the acute and enduring effects of psychedelics. Further longitudinal research is necessary to determine the long-term predictive validity of the Psychological Insight Questionnaire and to examine the role of psychological insight in predicting therapeutic outcomes.
