Kualitas merupakan salah satu faktor penting penentu keberhasilan suatu perusahaan dalam menguasai persaingan. Pada Painting Shop Karawang Plant 1 PT Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indonesia, kualitas diukur melalui OK Ratio, yaitu perbandingan antara jumlah unit yang sesuai standar dengan total unit yang diproduksi. Pada tahun 2017, OK Ratio Painting Shop belum mencapai target. Salah satu defect yang berkontribusi besar terhadap OK Ratio adalah dust seed yang terjadi pada area front door opening. Penelitian dilakukan dengan menggunakan Kaizen melalui siklus PDCA dengan menggunakan seven tools of quality dan 5 why analysis. Diketahui bahwa terdapat tiga akar penyebab defect dust seed: tidak terdapat downflow pada area moisture sanding, jig yang digunakan masih kotor akibat pencucian yang tidak efektif dan jig digunakan secara berulang tanpa dibersihkan. Dengan melakukan perbaikan sesuai dengan akar permasalahan yang telah ditemukan, didapatkan hasil reject dust seed pada area front door opening berkurang sebanyak 35.29% dan proses repair touch up 2K berkurang sebesar 53.6%. Ditetapkan standar untuk mendukung berjalannya perbaikan yang dilakukan, yaitu standar kerja proses airblow jig pada area jig handling untuk memastikan jig yang akan dipakai bebas kontaminan, standar kerja proses vacuum cleaning untuk memastikan unit bersih dari kontaminan sebelum memasuki spray booth, serta standar perawatan dust catcher.

<em>The process of folding clothes is one of the activities carried out in the laundry business or household. The activity is fairly easy but many people are still lazy to do it. As a result, clothes that have been washed will fall apart in certain rooms, thereby reducing the aesthetic value of a home. Semi Automatic T-Shirt Folding Machine is the right solution to make folding clothes easier and more time efficient. This tool is equipped with a servo motor that moves the folding board that has been designed in such a way that the user only needs to manghandle the shirt just once and simply push one button then the shirt will fold itself and will be neatly arranged through the clothes stacker board. The PID method is applied to DC motors that move under the clothes folder so that the buildup of clothes underneath will not be pressured upward when the clothes are piled up when they are folded. Ultrasonic sensor will measure the right height between the clothes with the door opening the stacking clothes with kp = 1, ki = 0.1, kd = 0.5 for thin clothes and kp = 5, ki = 1, kd = 2.5 for thick clothes so that the movement of the motor can adjust its speed . This tool can fold one shirt in 16.83 seconds 11 seconds faster than folding clothes manually</em>

Abstract Introduction Increasing old age and frailty is putting pressure on health services with 5–10% of patients attending the emergency department (ED) and 30% of patients in acute medical units classified as older and frail. National Health Service improvement mandates that by 2020 hospital trusts with type one EDs provide at least 70 hours of acute frailty service each week. Methodology A two-week pilot (Monday–Friday 8 am-5 pm) was undertaken, with a “Front Door Frailty Team” comprising a consultant, junior doctor, specialist nurse and pharmacist, with therapy input from the existing ED team. They were based in the ED seeing patients on arrival, referrals from the ED team and patients in the ED observation ward—opposed to the usual pathway of referral from the ED team to medical team. Data was captured using “Cerner” electronic healthcare records. A plan, do, study, act methodology was used throughout with daily debrief and huddle sessions. Results 95 patients were seen over two weeks. In the over 65 s, average time to be seen was 50 minutes quicker than the ED team over the same period, with reduced admission rate (25.7% vs 46.5%). The wait between decision to admit and departure was shortened by 119 minutes. Overall, this led to patients spending on average 133 minutes less in the ED. 64 patients were discharged, of which 44 had community follow-up (including 37.5% of 64 referred to acute elderly clinic and 25% to rapid response). 47 medications were stopped across 25 patients. Conclusion The pilot shows that introduction of an early comprehensive geriatric assessment in the ED can lead to patients being seen sooner, with more timely decisions over their care and reduction in hospital admissions. It allowed for greater provision of acute clinics and community services as well as prompt medication review and real time medication changes.

The market demand for vehicles with reduced energy consumption, as well as increasingly stringent standards limiting CO2 emissions, are the focus of a large number of research works undertaken in the analysis of the energy consumption of cars in real operating conditions. Taking into account the growing share of hybrid drive units on the automotive market, the aim of the article is to analyse the total unit energy consumption of a car operating in real road conditions, equipped with an advanced hybrid drive system of the PHEV (plug-in hybrid electric vehicles) type. In this paper, special attention has been paid to the total unit energy consumption of a car resulting from the cooperation of the two independent power units, internal combustion and electric. The results obtained for the individual drive units were presented in the form of a new unit index of the car, which allows us to compare the consumption of energy obtained from fuel with the use of electricity supported from the car’s batteries, during journeys in real road conditions. The presented research results indicate a several-fold increase in the total unit energy consumption of a car powered by an internal combustion engine compared to an electric car. The values of the total unit energy consumption of the car in real road conditions for the internal combustion drive are within the range 1.25–2.95 (J/(kg · m)) in relation to the electric drive 0.27–1.1 (J/(kg · m)) in terms of instantaneous values. In terms of average values, the appropriate values for only the combustion engine are 1.54 (J/(kg · m)) and for the electric drive only are 0.45 (J/(kg · m)) which results in the internal combustion engine values being 3.4 times higher than the electric values. It is the combustion of fuel that causes the greatest increase in energy supplied from the drive unit to the car’s propulsion system in the TTW (tank to wheels) system. At the same time this component is responsible for energy losses and CO2 emissions to the environment. The results were analysed to identify the differences between the actual life cycle energy consumption of the hybrid powertrain and the WLTP (Worldwide Harmonized Light-Duty Test Procedure) homologation cycle.

Cracking in non-load-bearing internal partition walls is a serious problem that frequently occurs in new buildings within the short term after putting them into service or even before completion of construction. Sometimes, it is so considerable that it cannot be accepted by the occupiers. The article presents tests of cracking in ceramic walls with a door opening connected in a rigid and flexible way along vertical edges. The first analyzes were conducted using the finite element method (FEM), and afterward, the measurements of deformations and stresses in walls on deflecting floors were performed on a full scale in the actual building structure. The measurements enabled to determine floor deformations leading to cracking of walls and to establish a dependency between the values of tensile stresses within the area of the door opening corners and their location along the length of walls and type of vertical connection with the structure.
