Статья посвящена проблеме восстановления искусственно прерванной метафизической традиции в отечественной персонологии. Данная проблема принадлежит областям истории психологии и психологии личности, но имеет выходы и в предметные области многих других психологических наук, в частности – клинической психологии. Указана важность соотнесения персонологических концептуализаций учёных-метафизиков с клинической практикой в процессе их опытной верификации. Проведена реконструкция и анализ взглядов на психопатологию и психотерапию представителей метафизической традиции в отечественной психологии личности. Согласно данным взглядам, суть патологии личности – в её уклонении от своего назначения, от подлинного бытия ради неподлинных, онтологически неоправданных форм жизнедеятельности. The article is devoted to the problem of restoration of artificialy interrupted metaphysical tradition in domestic personology. The given problem belongs to the areas of history of psychology and psychology of personality, but provides outcomes in subject matter of many other psychological sciences, in clinical psychology in particular. Importance of correlation between personological conceptualizations of scientists-metaphysicists and clinical practice in the process of their skilled verification is pointed out. The reconstruction and analysis of views at psychopathology and psychotherapy by representatives of metaphysical tradition in domestic psychology of personality have been made. According to the mentioned views, the essence of pathology of personality is in its evasion from the purpose, from original life for the sake of not original, ontologically unjustified forms of ability to live.

In this article I have examined Dr. C.R.Yaravintelimath's adventurous translation of Allamaprabhu's Kannada vacanas, which are said to be the most difficult ones to understand and interpret, as they are loaded with obscure symbolism derived from the mystical and metaphysical tradition of Virasaivism in particular and of pan-Hinduism in general. I have analyzed this translation in the light of modern theory of translation and shown hoe the element of foreignization outweighs that of domestication and suggested the need for the interpretation of Allamaprabhu's vacanas in translation from a larger perspective of Comparative Indian and World Literature, especially mystic literature.

This article explores time concepts derived from Henri Bergson as adapted by Canadian marketing theorist and visual artist Bertram Brooker (1888–1955) in articles and textbooks published during the 1920s and early 1930s. Inspired by Bergson’s critique of the Western metaphysical tradition, Brooker proposed innovative, participatory advertising strategies based on the French philosopher’s non-rational conception of time and the co-evolution of bodies and media. The author argues that the Toronto artist-advertiser’s descriptions of radio as offering the possibility of an interactive and synesthetic alternative to conventional print-based forms of advertising indirectly influenced Harold Innis’ redemptive gloss on the latent dialogism of radio. A critique of Brooker’s and Innis’ respective articulations of “oral” media as foreshadowing the contemporary economy of televisual “flow” is also posited.Cet article explore les concepts temporels du philosophe français Henri Bergson ainsi qu’ils étaient adaptés par le théoricien du marketing et artiste Bertram Brooker (1888- 1955) dans ses articles et manuels des années 1920 et début des années 1930. La critique de la tradition métaphysique occidental affirmé par Bergson en a inspiré Brooker, qui a proposé des stratégies de publicité participatives fondées sur sa conception non-rationnel de temps aussi que sa conception de la co-évolution des corps et des médias. Cet article propose que la représentation de la radio en tant qu’un objet interactif et synésthetique soutenu par l’artistedirecteur de publicité a influencé indirectement l’interprétation rédemptrice de Harold Innis au sujet du dialogisme de la radio. Une critique des déclarations de Brooker et Innis sur les médias « orale » en tant que préfigurant de l’économie contemporaine de « flux » télévisuel est aussi offert.

This article examines the problem of overcoming nihilism in Heidegger’s dialogue with Jünger. It is suggested that nihilism is manifested in various forms and is the deep logic of the whole history of European civilization. One of the main aims of this paper is to outline the relationship of nihilism and Nothing in Heidegger’s dispute with Jünger, viewing how Heidegger distinguishes his approach from Jünger’s point of view. Heidegger, on the one hand, treats nihilism as consummation of the Western metaphysical tradition, on the other hand, identifies Nothing itself as the shadow of Being, which cannot be overcome in the traditional dialectical thinking manner.

This article undertakes a critical analysis of subjectivity and exposes the metaphysical and anthropocentric quasi-transcendental conditions that give rise to the construct(ion) of the Subject. I locate a critical moment for the metaphysical Subject in the work of Martin Heidegger which, whilst sadly not sustained in his later writings, provides a point of departure for an examination of the significance that animality plays in the metaphysical tradition and its constitutive relation to the construct of subjectivity. I discern this relation to be violent and sacrificial and draw on Jacques Derrida's nonanthropocentric ethics against the background of Drucilla Cornell's ethical reading of deconstruction to construct a critique of approaches that assimilate animals to the traditional model of subjectivity in order to represent their identity and interests in the legal paradigm. The main argument that I seek to advance is that such an approach paradoxically re-constructs the classical humanist subject of metaphysics and re-establishes the subject-centred system that silences the call of the animal Other, thereby solidifying and extending the legitimacy of a discourse and mode of social regulation that is fundamentally anthropocentric. I examine how we can address, incapacitate and move beyond this schemata of power through a rigorous deconstruction of the partitions that institute the Subject and how deconstruction clears a space for a de novo determination of the animal "subject" that can proceed from different sites of nonanthropocentric interruption. What follows is a call to refuse the mechanical utilisation of traditional legal constructs and I argue in favour of an approach to the question of the animal (in law) that identifies and challenges anthropocentrism as its critical target. I ultimately propose a critical engagement with the underlying metaphysical support of animal rights at a conceptual level, rather than simply utilising the law pragmatically as an instrument of immediate resolution.

In The Quest for Reality, Subjectivism and the Metaphysics of Colour, Barry Stroud appraises various subjectivist theories of colour as they occur in the context of a philosophical project which he characterizes as the quest for reality. “It is meant to be a quest whose goal is the nature of reality—what the world is really like. And it involves distinguishing what is really so from what only appears to be so, or separating reality as it is independently of us from what is in one way or another dependent on us and so misleads us as to what is really there” (pp. 3–4). In a long metaphysical tradition, now more alive than ever, the systematic pursuit of the distinction finds colour on the misleading appearance and not-really-so side of things.

This paper is an exploration and interpretation of Kierkegaard's account of Christian belief. I argue that Kierkegaard believed that the Christian metaphysical tradition was exhausted and hence that there could be no defence of belief in God in purely rational terms. I defend this interpretation against objections, going on to argue that Kierkegaard thought it possible to defend a post-metaphysical conception of religious belief. I argue that Kierkegaard thought that such a defence was available if we understand correctly what it is to speak with ethico-religious authority. I argue that, when interpreted in the way I outline, Kierkegaard's notion of ethico-religious authority shows his conception of religious belief to have great plausibility. However, Kierkegaard goes on to argue that an individual's true relationship with God is constituted through the cultivation of guilt and the sense of himself as a sinner, and I give reasons for rejecting this claim, arguing that such cultivation is a form of asceticism.

The problem of self-organization of self in the context of uncertainty arises in connection with the development of projects and programs of transformational education for adults, the need of which is due to the deep processes of global transformations in the modern world. Transformative strategies and programs for the development of the content of higher education, outlined in the list of key educational competencies for the 21st century by international organizations (EU, UNESCO) are associated with the processes of becoming and transformation of individuals as integral subjects of cognition and action within the framework of communicative strategies for the formation of a global civil society. The development and implementation of transformative higher education strategies in a content aspect requires transdisciplinary research methodologies for adult learning aimed at developing a “holistic person” and his self as a source of creative development. The first part of the article is devoted to the analysis of the evolution of views on self in the metaphysical tradition, which was mainly concentrated around the binary-opposition systems of argumentation, presented, on the one hand, by the Cartesian philosophy of self as substances, on the other - the Hume's vision of self as a bundle of perceptions. The dynamics of the argumentation of these metaphysical contrapositions, which immanently contain both the centrifugal intentions of discourse, and are mutually attractive, is considered. The substantive theses of these philosophies, which marked the development and branching of the general tendencies in the study of self and which can serve as a methodological complementary ground in our efforts to overcome binarism in the study of self in the context of post-metaphysical queries, are analyzed. The relevance of transversal self in the context of uncertainty as a process-dialogic unity of differences in the liminal space at the global and individual levels is determined.

Despite various interpretations of Heidegger's philosophy, he is undeniably a deep critic of the metaphysical tradition in European philosophy. His task of overcoming metaphysics once again aroused interest in the fundamental issues of life in the era of the total dominance of private sciences. In the article, the authors explore the concept of metaphysics and its criticism in the work of M. Heidegger, as well as subsequent interpretations, in particular by O. Peggeler (“New Ways with Heidegger”, 1992). Criticism of metaphysics was a necessary condition for overcoming it to build a fundamental ontology. Having experienced the influence of Nietzsche, Heidegger does not remain a Nietzschean, because he considers him the last metaphysician to be overcome. In this regard, Peggeler recognizes Heidegger's main work not as “Being and Time”, but as “Reports to Philosophy” (1936), where he sought to reveal the primary sources of the concept of metaphysics. Heidegger's views regarding the interpretation of the development of metaphysics in different historical eras are specially considered.
