Modern medicine tells us that the human body is an organism composed of heart, lung, liver, kidney, spleen, stomach, brain, nerves, muscles, bones, blood vessels, blood and so on, while traditional Chinese medicine believes that besides these tissues and organs, the human body still has another part of the structure, traditional Chinese medicine calls them Jing Luo and Shu Xue. Jing Luo means the longitudinal line of the human body and the accompanying net, translated into English Meridians and Collaterals. Shu Xue means holes distributed on Jing Luo and outside Jing Luo, because stimulating Shu Xue's position by acupuncture, massage and other methods can cure diseases, so Shu Xue is translated into English acupuncture point, abbreviated as acupoint or point. Meridians and acupoints are the special knowledge of human body structure in traditional Chinese medicine. Traditional Chinese medicine not only draws the distribution map of the meridians and acupoints in the human body, but also has been using them to treat diseases for thousands of years. There are hundreds of these acupoints, stimulating each one by acupuncture, massage or other methods will have a special effect on the human body and can treat various diseases. But what effect does stimulating every acupoint have on the human body so that it can treat various diseases? The discussion of traditional Chinese medicine is vague and incomprehensible, and can not be proved by experiments. According to the author's research for more than 30 years, this paper makes a clear and accurate exposition of the effects on the human body and diseases that can be treated with acupoint massage. These statements can be proved by experiments, so they are believed to be reliable. It is hoped that meridians, acupoints and massage therapy can be incorporated into modern medicine and become a part of modern medicine after being proved by others through experiments. Massaging acupoints can not only treat many diseases that are difficult to be treated with drugs, but also have simple methods and low cost.

Small-scale concave spherical pits, which have a special effect on heat transfer enhancement and turbulent drag reduction, are investigated by numerical simulation in detail. Two kinds of small-scale concave pits structures are designed on surface of a plate, which are located in the bottom of a rectangle channel. The characteristics of heat transfer and flow in channel are investigated and compared with a same channel with plate bottom by means of LES. Flow structure and temperature distribution near the pits are analyzed. The numerical simulation results indicate that the concave spherical pits disturb the flow field and vortex is induced by the pits. The turbulent coherent structure is affected by the induced vortex. The numerical simulation indicates that small scale pit can generate the vortex in couple. The range of vortex is accord with the array of small scale pit. The small scale pit can enhance the intensity of vortex. As a result, the temperature field near the pit is changed with generation of the vortex. The heat transfer mechanism on plate with small scale concave spherical pit is summarized.

The aim of this paper is to examine the differences in particular dimensions of selfconcept in female and male adolescents depending on sports engagement, as well as to determine which domain-specific self-perceptions provide the highest contributions to global self-worth in female and male adolescents engaged in sport and those not engaged in it. This research included 400 subjects at early adolescent age, of both genders (235 females and 164 males) further divided to sub-samples of athletes and non-athletes. An adapted version of a scale Self-Perception Profile for Adolescents (Harter, 1988) was applied, which consists of nine subscales. The obtained results indicate that sport-engaged adolescents of both genders provide more favourable perception of themselves in most tested aspects of self-concept than those not engaged in an organized sports activity. Engagement in sport has special effect on selfconcept of male adolescents. Results of multiple regression analysis point out unambiguously the significance of self-perception of physical appearance in global self-worth of adolescents of both genders, irrespective of whether they are involved in sports activity or not.

Abstract Background There are very few studies focusing on the relationship between COVID-19 and pre-infection lifestyle. In the absence of effective vaccines and special-effect medicines, it is very meaningful to actively respond to the disease pandemic by improving lifestyle habits. Methods This is a multicenter, retrospective cohort study enrolled 431 adult people including 228 normal people and 203 confirmed infects in Wubei, Henan and Shandong Provinces. Questionnaires were used to collect information on physical activity and lifestyle by competent doctors. The univariate logistic regression models and multiple regression models were used in risk factor analysis. Kruskal-Wallis H test were used to test the correlation. Results Lifestyle habits including exercise, smoking, sleep and physical activity can significantly affect the probability of getting COVID-19(P < 0.05). The MET (Metabolic Equivalent) intensity classification and sleep status are found to be the potential influencing factors of prognosis in both all infects and symptomatic patients. In all infects, taking the high MET intensity level as a reference, inpatient days would increase by 1.812 times (95% CI: 0.887–3.701) with no significance when the level is moderate (P > 0.05) and significantly increase by 6.674 times (95% CI: 1.613–27.613) when the level is low (P < 0.05). Kruskal-Wallis H test results showed moderate activity MET*min promoted shorter hospital stay (P < 0.05) mainly. Conclusions Sleep status and physical activity influenced the susceptibility and prognosis of COVID-19. Lack of sleep and low MET intensity level may prolong the hospital stay, which means a relatively slow recovery. This encourages the public to have moderate physical activity and adequate sleep to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic actively.

ABSTRACT Apoptosis is an important cellular response to UV radiation (UVR), but the corresponding mechanisms remain largely unknown. Here we report that the p85α regulatory subunit of phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase (PI-3K) exerted a proapoptotic role in response to UVR through the induction of tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α) gene expression. This special effect of p85α was unrelated to the PI-3K-dependent signaling pathway. Further evidence demonstrated that the inducible transcription factor NFAT3 was the major downstream target of p85α for the mediation of UVR-induced apoptosis and TNF-α gene transcription. p85α regulated UVR-induced NFAT3 activation by modulation of its nuclear translocation and DNA binding and the relevant transcriptional activities. Gel shift assays and site-directed mutagenesis allowed the identification of two regions in the TNF-α gene promoter that served as the NFAT3 recognition sequences. Chromatin immunoprecipitation assays further confirmed that the recruitment of NFAT3 to the endogenous TNF-α promoter was regulated by p85α upon UVR exposure. Finally, the knockdown of the NFAT3 level by its specific small interfering RNA decreased UVR-induced TNF-α gene transcription and cell apoptosis. The knockdown of endogenous p85α blocked NFAT activity and TNF-α gene transcription, as well as cell apoptosis. Thus, we demonstrated p85α-associated but PI-3K-independent cell death in response to UVR and identified a novel p85α/NFAT3/TNF-α signaling pathway for the mediation of cellular apoptotic responses under certain stress conditions such as UVR.

Abstract In today’s world, reducing fuel consumption is one of the most important goals for the automotive industry. For this reason, weight reduction is one of the main topics in this research and for various companies. In this research, topology optimization was conducted on a suspension arm as a means of ensuring balance in automobiles. Subsequently, the model, formed by topology optimization was filled with a lattice structure and re-optimized by size optimization to obtain optimum dimensions for the model. These operations are described as lattice structure optimization. Additive manufacturing (3D printer) is necessary to produce complex models (after topology and lattice structure optimization). A static analysis of the new models was conducted by using the finite element method, and the results were compared with those of the initial design of the model. As a result of the comparison, positive results were obtained, and it was shown that topology optimization and lattice structural optimization could be used in the design of vehicle elements. According to the results obtained from lattice structure optimization, design structure can be formed more reliably than via topology optimization. In addition, both configurations and layouts of the cellular structures have a special effect on the overall performance of the lattice structure.
