ZusammenfassungIn the construction ἑκὼν εἶναι, grammars identify the function of εἶναι either with the function of an old dative or accusative. However, some scholars consider εἶναι redundant because it is difficult to ascertain its exact semantic and syntactic function. In any case, neither the original meaning of εἶναι in this construction nor the functional relationship of ἑκών with the infinitive has been described satisfactorily. The semantic, syntactic, and pragmatic differences between ἑκών and ἑκὼν εἶναι have not been determined either. This paper analyzes both ἑκών and εἶναι based on a selection of works of different chronology and genres in order to propose both a diachronic and a synchronic explanation of the construction ἑκὼν εἶναι. The data analysis supports the interpretation of εἶναι as a limitative infinitive that developed into a focusing element. In sentences with negative polarity, ἑκὼν εἶναι has regularly evolved into a parenthetical, specifically a self-correction parenthetical.

Various studies on the interaction of immobilized mammalian fibrinogen and fibrin monomers with some fibrinogen derivatives demonstrated the presence of two sets of polymerization sites in the mammalian fibrinogen molecule. We obtained the same results while investigating the fibrinogen molecules of other classes of vertebrates /Pisces. Amphibia. Aves/. Despite significant differences among their subunit structures, all of them contain polymerization sites homologous to mammalian counterparts. Moreover, due to great functional similarity, fibrinogen or fibrin monomers of the analyzed species of Pisces. Amphibia. Aves and Mammalia interacted in a specific way with immobilized pig fibrin monomers or fibrinogen, respectively. Using these pig affinity adsorbents, fibrinogen and fibrin monomers of different vertebrates were isolated directly from plasma and analyzed by SDS polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis. Polypeptide compositions of eluted proteins were identical to those obtained for corresponding fibrinogen preparations isolated by cold-ethanol fractionation method. It appears to indicate that the nature of polymerization sites in vertebrate fibrinogens is alike.

The description of the method of digital computer morphometry of vegetable seeds developed by the authors on the basis of the image analysis system consisting of a flatbed scanner and software for automatic measurements is given. The method is based on the idea of seed quality, due to the genetic heterogeneity of the seed plants used in industrial seed production. Physical properties of seeds (their shape and linear dimensions) are the main parameters in determining their quality. Digital image of the seed obtained using the flatbed scanner, HP Sсanjet 200 on the basis of the Agrophysical research Institute with serial software “Argus-BIO”, produced by LLC “Argussoft” (Saint-Petersburg). The method consists of selection of a contrast substrate (background) for scanning seeds with minimal shadow effects, calibration of software for binding to true size values, selection of measurement parameters and automatic recognition of digital scanned images of seeds. Experimental data on the morphometry of ecologically different-quality seeds of vegetable beans, matrix seeds of dill, Pasternak and Christoph onion are presented. Seeds of dill and parsnip, collected from different orders of branching of the seed plant, significantly differed in size of linear parameters. The most revealing linear parameter seed – area projection. The method of digital morphometry proposed by the authors has already been used in practice and in the future can be used in studies of ecological and matrix heterogeneity of vegetable seeds. So, it was tested on different quality seeds of five varieties of vegetable beans (Nastena, Magura, Mirobelа, Morena, Bazhenf) obtained in five contrasting environmental and geographical conditions (Moscow, Belgorod, Stavropol, Omsk, Gorki) in 2011-2012. In the future, the technique can be used to improve the quality of digital images of seeds, study of seed diversity, including to improve the control of the breeding process. In addition, it is applicable to study the relationship of the set of morphometric characteristics of seeds and their sowing qualities.

Abstract The failure analysis community working on highly integrated mixed signal circuitry is entering an era where simultaneously System-On-Chip technologies, denser metallization schemes, on-chip dissipation techniques and intelligent packages are being introduced. These innovations bring a great deal of defect accessibility challenges to the failure analyst. To contend in this era while aiming for higher efficiency and effectiveness, the failure analysis environment must undergo a disruptive evolution. The success or failure of an analysis will be determined by the careful selection of tools, data and techniques in the applied analysis flow. A comprehensive approach is required where hardware, software, data analysis, traditional FA techniques and expertise are complementary combined [1]. This document demonstrates this through the incorporation of advanced scan diagnosis methods in the overall analysis flow for digital functionality failures and supporting the enhanced failure analysis methodology. For the testing and diagnosis of the presented cases, compact but powerful scan test FA Lab hardware with its diagnosis software was used [2]. It can therefore easily be combined with the traditional FA techniques to provide stimulus for dynamic fault localizations [3]. The system combines scan chain information, failure data and layout information into one viewing environment which provides real analysis power for the failure analyst. Comprehensive data analysis is performed to identify failing cells/nets, provide a better overview of the failure and the interactions to isolate the fault further to a smaller area, or to analyze subtle behavior patterns to find and rationalize possible faults that are otherwise not detected. Three sample cases will be discussed in this document to demonstrate specific strengths and advantages of this enhanced FA methodology.

A.D. Sakharov’s legacy in now standard model of the Universe is not reduced to baryosynthesis but extends to the foundation of cosmoparticle physics, which studies the fundamental relationship of cosmology and particle physics. Development of cosmoparticle physics involves cross-disciplinary physical, astrophysical and cosmological studies of physics Beyond the Standard model (BSM) of elementary particles. To probe physical models for inflation, baryosynthesis and dark matter cosmoparticle physics pays special attention to model dependent messengers of the corresponding models, making their tests possible. Positive evidence for such exotic phenomena as nuclear interacting dark atoms, primordial black holes or antimatter globular cluster in our galaxy would provide the selection of viable BSM models determination of their parameters.

Abstract. In this work we present the Open Plot Project, an open-source software for structural data analysis, including a 3-D environment. The software includes many classical functionalities of structural data analysis tools, like stereoplot, contouring, tensorial regression, scatterplots, histograms and transect analysis. In addition, efficient filtering tools are present allowing the selection of data according to their attributes, including spatial distribution and orientation. This first alpha release represents a stand-alone toolkit for structural data analysis. The presence of a 3-D environment with digitalising tools allows the integration of structural data with information extracted from georeferenced images to produce structurally validated dip domains. This, coupled with many import/export facilities, allows easy incorporation of structural analyses in workflows for 3-D geological modelling. Accordingly, Open Plot Project also candidates as a structural add-on for 3-D geological modelling software. The software (for both Windows and Linux O.S.), the User Manual, a set of example movies (complementary to the User Manual), and the source code are provided as Supplement. We intend the publication of the source code to set the foundation for free, public software that, hopefully, the structural geologists' community will use, modify, and implement. The creation of additional public controls/tools is strongly encouraged.

Abstract Introduction Noninvasive tests are increasingly used to assess liver fibrosis and determine prognosis but suggested test thresholds vary. We describe the selection of standardized thresholds for the Enhanced Liver Fibrosis (ELF) test for the detection of liver fibrosis and for prognostication in chronic liver disease. Methods A Delphi method was used to identify thresholds for the ELF test to predict histological liver fibrosis stages, including cirrhosis, using data derived from 921 patients in the EUROGOLF cohort. These thresholds were then used to determine the prognostic performance of ELF in a subset of 457 patients followed for a mean of 5 years. Results The Delphi panel selected sensitivity of 85% for the detection of fibrosis and >95% specificity for cirrhosis. The corresponding thresholds were 7.7, 9.8, and 11.3. Eighty-five percent of patients with mild or worse fibrosis had an ELF score ≥7.7. The sensitivity for cirrhosis of ELF ≥9.8 was 76%. ELF ≥11.3 was 97% specific for cirrhosis. ELF scores show a near-linear relationship with Ishak fibrosis stages. Relative to the <7.7 group, the hazard ratios for a liver-related outcome at 5 years were 21.00 (95% CI, 2.68–164.65) and 71.04 (95% CI, 9.4–536.7) in the 9.8 to <11.3 and ≥11.3 subgroups, respectively. Conclusion The selection of standard thresholds for detection and prognosis of liver fibrosis is described and their performance reported. These thresholds should prove useful in both interpreting and explaining test results and when considering the relationship of ELF score to Ishak stage in the context of monitoring.
