AbstractIntroductionUntil now, the services provided to Iranian youth have been prepared based on authorities’ perspectives and according to the resources and reports from other countries and international agencies. Using youth perspectives to provide health, however, helps in continuing the process of providing health services, and most young people will receive these services.ObjectiveTo explain perception of youth and key individuals to improve health programs for safe transition in Iran.MethodologyThis study is a qualitative research with a grounded theory approach. Data were collected using semi-structured in-depth interviews and group discussions. Participants were first selected by purposive sampling and then by theoretical sampling. Overall, 67 adolescents aged 14–18 years, eight youths aged 19–24 years, 12 parents and important persons involved in providing health services joined the study. Young participants and their parents were selected from different training areas of Tehran and the key individuals were from the Ministry of Health and Medical Education and the Education Department. Collecting samples were continued to saturation. The Strauss and Corbin (2008) method was used for data analysis.ResultIn this study, the phenomenon of adolescents’ confusion to manage puberty emerged. This process, with appropriate strategies, such as the mobilization of available resources in the community and comprehensive programming to provide health services by policymakers, could have provided youth empowerment as an impact to self-care.ConclusionCurrent services provided by health centers cannot guarantee the health of adolescents, but it does require proper planning and management in families, schools and societies.

Abstract. Traditional Health Services is a treatment or therapy using methods and medication that is based on the experience and skills of our ancestors that can be accounted for and is in accordance with the norms prevailing in the community. One example is acupressure, ehich is a healing method that uses pressure on certain points of the body or acupuncture points. This type of service has been regulated in various laws on traditional health. However, not all Health Centers provide this service. In South Jakarta City, there are only two Health Centers that provide acupressure services. This is a qualitative research, and aims to analyze the policies and implementation of the implementation of acupressure services in the Health Centers and its obstacles. The data was collected through in-depth interviews and document review. In this study we found that the quality and quantity of health workers trained in acupressure and their comprehension of the program was inadequate. In addition, the room for acupressure is only found in health centers that have provided this service. Communication is still a problem, because there is no regulation socialization regarding the regulation of acupressure services for policy implementers. However, 60% of patients were satisfied with the services provided.

This study explores the antecedents to online shopping attitude formation that is typical to Indian tier 2 consumers. Qualitative research has been carried out and semi-structured depth interviews were conducted. The grounded theory approach has been used for analysis and a conceptual framework has been developed. Based on the overall analysis, the model depicted the causal antecedents and outcome of online shopping attitude. The findings from this study reveal that online shopping is not limited to a purely convenience-oriented patronage and is rather influenced by a much more holistic approach leading to the attitude formation in tier 2 consumers. The study identified 5 major antecedents to online shopping attitudes specific to Indian tier 2 cities. This study holds meaningful insights for internet marketers and e-commerce business strategist. In particular, for the marketers the study suggests that non-metro cities can no longer be overlooked as they have emerged as significant markets for the future.

Purpose This paper aims to explore the implications of virtual work arrangements on employee knowledge hiding (KH) behaviour and the different strategies of KH used by employees in these arrangements. Design/methodology/approach Following a grounded theory approach to understanding KH, 21 semi-structured in-depth interviews were conducted with employees engaged in virtual working setups. The data collected from these informants were then analysed using qualitative methods. Findings The study revealed that virtual work arrangements increase employee KH behaviour because of three reasons: ease of hiding, digital burnout and loss of control. Further, the study found that rationalized hiding is the most commonly adopted strategy by employees engaged in virtual work arrangements, while inclinations towards evasive hiding strategy decrease in this arrangement. Originality/value This is the first study in knowledge management literature that seeks to explain KH in the virtual work context.

Student musicians frequently need to take breaks from playing their instruments because of physical playing-related injuries, yet little is known about their experiences with these occupational disruptions. We conducted a qualitative study that explored student musicians' lived experiences with unplanned disruptions stemming from engagement in their major occupation of playing an instrument. In-depth interviews with seven student musicians who attended either a special arts high school or a university were conducted. Consistent with a grounded theory approach to qualitative research, the constant comparative method of qualitative data analysis was implemented. A major finding related to the theme of “being and becoming,” where student musicians expressed a strong sense of belonging to a group of other like musicians who they learned from, relied on for support, and created music with. Another theme was motivation to excel, where students expressed a strong desire and motivation to improve and master their instrument. Occupational tensions and pressures emerged as another theme. Students were aware of the need to practice and the need to care for their bodies. A constant negotiation was required in which students struggled to find a good balance between the need to practice and to respect their bodies while maintaining an identity of a musician. These findings are discussed in relation to how health care providers and educators need to understand the demands and stresses associated with playing an instrument so that they can better support these young musicians.

This paper aims to investigate the current state and potential opportunity of strategic environmental discourses and rhetoric in architectural education. Because there is limited research completed on this specific focus, a grounded theory approach was used. In-depth interviews were held with twelve purposefully selected participants, each of whom are prevalently perceived as leaders in incorporating sustainability topics into architectural education. Through a cyclical coding process, larger themes about integrating environmental topics in formal architectural education emerged, with the importance of discourse and rhetoric as one of the primary sub-themes. Different discourses, emphasis on specific terminology, and the implications of each in the conceptual space of architectural educational are explored in the context of both program- and university-level structures. Breaking down the current environmental discourses in these specific contexts offers insight into opportunities to streamline the inclusion of sustainability themes in architectural education. This study concludes with possible avenues for further research regarding environmental discourse and rhetoric in architectural education, and suggestions for application in programs.

The aim of the study was to formulate a theory about Javanese adolescent self-concept in relation with friends. The subjects of this research were three Javanese adolescents, two girls and one boy. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and observation and were analyzed with the so-called grounded theory approach. The results of this study indicated that Javanese adolescents interprets himself as plural selves, hierarchical interdependent and altered. Individuals have a lot of selves that represent their relationships with others. The selves are composed with each other in a hierarchical relationship. In a particular time, an individual activates one only of their selves. The self-activation process goes with the principle of "if ..., then ...". After recognizing their friends and situations, individuals will compare and evaluate themselves then choosing and activating one particular self to adjust with a particular friend and situation. When Javanese adolescents are with their friends, they do not think much about physical aspect, they become themselves and feel equal, accepted, understood and trusted as a good person. Such self-viewing makes an individual tend to go through positive feelings and comfort being around friends. Keywords: self-concept, self-adjustment, adolescents, Javanese, friends

Background: Surgery for hydrocele is commonly promoted as part of morbidity management and disability prevention (MMDP) services for lymphatic filariasis (LF). However, uptake of these surgeries has been suboptimal owing to several community level barriers that have triggered mistrust in such services. This study aimed at documenting mechanisms of unlocking trust in community health systems (CHS) in the context of a LF hydrocele management project that was implemented in Luangwa District, Zambia. Methods: Qualitative data was collected through in-depth interviews and focus group discussions (n=45) in February 2020 in Luangwa District. Thirty-one in-depth interviews were conducted with hydrocele patients, CHWs, health workers, traditional leaders and traditional healers. Two focus group discussions were also conducted with CHWs who had been involved in project implementation with seven participants per group. Data was analyzed using a thematic analysis approach. Results: The use of locally appropriate communication strategies, development of community driven referral systems, working with credible community intermediaries as well as strengthening health systems capacity through providing technical and logistical support enhanced trust in surgery for hydrocele and uptake of the surgeries. Conclusion: Implementation of community led communication and referral systems as well as strengthening health services are vital in unlocking trust in health systems as such mechanisms trigger authentic partnerships, including mutual respect and recognition in the CHS. The mechanisms also enhance confidence in health services among community members.

The purpose of this chapter is to explore the practical and philosophical issues of applying the grounded theory approach to qualitative research in Information Systems. Over the past decade, we have seen a substantial increase in qualitative research in general (Klein, Nissen and Hirschheim, 1991; Walsham, 1995; Markus, 1997; Myers, 1997; Myers and Walsham, 1998; Klein and Myers, 1999; Walsham and Sahay, 1999; Trauth and Jessup, 2000; Schultze, 2000) and also an increase in the use of grounded theory (Toraskar, 1991, Orlikowski, 1993, Urquhart, 1997, 1998, 1999a, 1999b; Adams and Sasse, 1999, Baskerville and Pries-Heje, 1999, Trauth, 2000). Over the past three years, the most frequent request I have had from postgraduates is for some insight into the ‘how-to’ of coding and grounded theory
