This study is a qualitative research implementing sociolinguistics approach which aims to gain deeper insights on swearing words exploited in Deadpool 2 movie by the main character of the film. Focusing on the analysis of types and functions of swearing words, the data of this study were taken in the form of utterances produced by Wade Wilson or Deadpool as the main character of the film containing swearing words. Using a conceptual framework of swearing words and their function proposed by Anderson & Trudgill (1990) and classification theory of types of swearing words suggested by Battistellla (2005), the result of the analysis of this study finds out that the use of swearing words by a character in the film as directed by the director provides a unique way to understand the basic characteristic of the character. In the case of this study, Wade Wilson through the analysis of this research, despite having traumatic background and producing more swearing words than any other characters in the film, can be considered somewhat of a good person worthy of the titlle ‘superhero’.lin

The Qur'an lays down the teachings of monotheism or divinity in the one and only God, where every human being must be responsible to him, eradicating social and economic crimes from the lowest level to the highest level. The concept of Islam in the educational process and overcoming ignorance is found in the Qur'an and Sunnah. Islam is present as a religion that provides instructions in which the context of the holy book directs it so that its people do not become ignorant people. For Muslims, believing in the Qur'an as a way of life is a form of obligation and religion whose rights are Islam. But in reality, now the concepts in the Qur'an are not fully realized in education in the community. As in society, education and teaching have been carried out, but there are still many children and even adults who do not have morals or etiquette with fellow humans both to teachers and parents, or even their souls are not trained to be able to accept what the teacher teaches to make them a good person. noble. There are many realities in the life of a society in terms of education that are still left behind, those who still put aside learning and choose to work to fulfill their lives and even just fulfill their lifestyle. There are many possibilities that they are not aware and understand the importance of learning to seek knowledge or even left behind the discourse about knowledge. This study aims to look at the concept of education from the perspective of the Qur'an. The type of research used is descriptive qualitative literature (library research). The data collection technique used by the researcher is to collect data from various library sources, both from books, journals, seminar results, and discussions with experts relevant to the research theme. The conclusion of this study is that the Qur'an reveals the term education with many terms including al-Tarbiyah, al-Ta'lim, al-Tazkiyah, al-Tadris, al-Tafaquh, al-Ta'aqul, al-Tadabbur, al-Tadzkirah, al-Tafakkur, al-Mau'idza. The purpose of education in Islam wants the formation of a Muslim who has integrity in his personality, the goodness of his speech is also manifested in good behavior, all of which are a reflection of the cleanliness of his heart.

Abstract: Education is a process of activities carried out to live a good life and can also be said to be an activity of honing human resources (human resources) to gain expertise in the social field and the development of a good person to make a strong interpersonal relationship with the cultural environment of the surrounding community. . (Idris, 1987). On that basis, why education cannot be far from the culture or culture of a place it occupies, as the goal of education so far, namely, to hone taste, initiative and work. The achievement of these educational goals depends on how the culture is conveyed in the classroom, so this is where the role of multicultural education will become an intermediary for the development of human resources who have strong and good characters. This study aims to describe several things, namely as follows: (1) Culture-based learning, (2) Application of Cultural Learning to children in schools, and (3) Impact of implementing cultural curricula on children's characters. The approach in writing this paper uses literature analysis with literature reviews and data is collected through systematic search of scientific literature on journal articles and documents that discuss significantly and are related to the theme of this research. Many of our everyday emotional responses are triggered by language, and a full understanding of how people use language therefore also requires an analysis of how words elicit emotion as they are heard or read. We report a facial electromyography experiment in which we recorded corrugator supercilii, or “frowning muscle”, activity to assess how readers processed emotion-describing language in moral and minimal in/outgroup contexts. Participants read sentence-initial phrases like “Mark is angry” or “Mark is happy” after descriptions that defined the character at hand as a good person, a bad person, a member of a minimal ingroup, or a member of a minimal outgroup (realizing the latter two by classifying participants as personality “type P” and having them read about characters of “type P” or “type O”). As in our earlier work, moral group status of the character clearly modulated how readers responded to descriptions of character emotions, with more frowning to “Mark is angry” than to “Mark is happy” when the character had previously been described as morally good, but not when the character had been described as morally bad. Minimal group status, however, did not matter to how the critical phrases were processed, with more frowning to “Mark is angry” than to “Mark is happy” across the board. Our morality-based findings are compatible with a model in which readers use their emotion systems to simultaneously simulate a character’s emotion and evaluate that emotion against their own social standards. The minimal-group result does not contradict this model, but also does not provide new evidence for it.

The overwhelming number of tarpaulins posted in strategic places around the Meranaw communities in Marawi City, Philippines, have tagged the City as the “City of Tarpaulins”. For years, tarpaulins have been invading streets and walls. This multimedia landscape is not only a powerful product of the digitalized world but is also a strong representation of the modernizing Meranaw culture. This study ventured into analyzing the texts and photographs presented in the tarpaulins to better understand the contemporary concept of Kambilangatao or the Meranaw values of becoming a good person.Through the analysis, the study shows that the Meranaw in the contemporary era has evolved into a new identity. The study has brought out the 5k concepts of Meranaw values that make up Kambilangatao or the art of becoming a good person in thoughts, deeds, and actions, such as kapamagogopa or helping one another, kapamagawida or mutual support, kapamagadata or respect for one another, kaseselai or honoring one another, and kambangsa or pride in the family lineage. Through the tarpaulins a visage of the contemporary Meranaw is revealed. The visual grammar of the tarpaulins reveals that the contemporary bilangatao or an ideal person is described as a degree holder, achiever, confident, religious, honorable, and a good leader.

An act of aggression by my nine-year-old dog triggers me to contemplate the relationship among touch, communication, and violence during a pandemic. More specifically, after I let her run (illegally) off-leash at a park near my home, my dog, Essay, attacked another dog for what seemed like no reason. I was horrified, and, having grown up in an abusive home, had to come to terms with being on the other side of an attacker/victim dynamic while I waited to hear whether the other dog would be okay. This prompts me to consider what it means to control our dogs, whether words can touch us when we cannot touch one another, and what it means to be a good person during a pandemic.
