If attention is reduced, a person can hardly concentrate. The article states that the success of learning a foreign language is determined by a combination of factors: motivational, emotional, cognitive, linguistic, psychophysiological and interactive. This means that the psychological aspects of learning a foreign language determine not only the goals and objectives of teaching, motivation, interest of students, but also the methods and approaches to learning. Emphasis is placed on the need to constantly search for new opportunities and ways to form and improve methods of learning a foreign language for professional purposes. The leading idea of the article is that taking into account the psychological, pedagogical and individual characteristics of students in the study of a foreign language for professional purposes allows to introduce new technologies into the educational process, increase learning efficiency, develop language skills and competencies, develop creative abilities, increase independent and extracurricular activities.

The research is devoted to the experimental verification of the effectiveness of multimedia language laboratories in foreign language learning (on the example of the specialty «Translation»). The study represents the capabilities of multimedia language laboratories in the foreign language learning and the advantages and disadvantages of their use. The article discusses the concepts of “multimedia technologies” as digital delivery of content using more than one medium which influences several perception channels of information, and “multimedia linguistic laboratories” as computer classrooms equipped with E-Presenter, multimedia projector, interactive whiteboard and peripheral equipment. Multimedia presentations, electronic studies manuals and Internet access are used to provide the future interpreters with necessary knowledge for doing translation. Modern multifunctional computer software gives the future interpreters the opportunity to form the competence in listening. The use of Skype and Viber helps to develop communicative skills providing communication and cultural interaction with native speakers. MLL’s software and hardware complex provides teachers with a powerful toolkit that helps to create, edit and save tests, conduct tests and collect results, quickly assess and comment on the answers. The statistical calculations confirmed that the implementation of multimedia technology in the educational process, the correct and systematic use of MLL in the foreign language learning, can not only diversify learning process, but also help the future interpreters to achieve a high level of the foreign language competence. The use of MLL revealed a number of methodological advantages over traditional ways of teaching. The authors see the prospects for further research in the creation of appropriate pedagogical conditions for implementing information and communication technologies in the process of training future interpreters.

The current study aims at implementation of the Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) as an educational approach in tourism students’ multicultural competence development. To achieve the goal, a mixed-method was chosen, which implied the use of quantitative and qualitative research methods. The quantitative method was used to process the test results of tourism students and determine the statistical significance of the results obtained during the experiment, the qualitative method was used to analyse and interpret the results. 25tourism students of V. I. Vernadsky Taurida National University took part in the experimental study in 2020-2021 academic year. According to the results, due to CLIL classes the students’ theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the field of tourism, the ability to interact with representatives of other countries and cultures and to solve professional problems in the conditions of foreign language communication in the intercultural environment, have been increased. Additionally, the knowledge, skills and abilities of the tourism students; the pedagogical conditions of successful CLIL implementation; the methodological recommendations for developing the multicultural competence on the base of CLIL and the specifics of implementing CLIL in the educational process of the tourism students were defined. It was concluded that the use of CLIL in tourism students’ multicultural competence development helps to diversify foreign language learning at the university level and facilitates the development of professional communicative skills.

The article considers the issues of continuity in foreign language teaching in the process of continuing professional education in the system «school» – «university». The essence of continuity as a didactic principle is clarified and its components have been determined. The task of continuity in the content of teaching a foreign (English) language to students of non-language specialties of universities and the factors that complicate its implementation are outlined. The importance of adhering to this principle for optimizing the educational process at all levels and stages of learning is emphasized. The importance of adhering to the principle of continuity in the transition from school to university education system is emphasized. It is shown that continuity in foreign language learning covers all components of the learning process and is complex. Some technologies for ensuring the continuity of foreign language learning are proposed, which helps to improve the quality of language training for future professionals. The authors state that the concept of continuity is actively used in the national educational space as a designation of one of the prerequisites for optimizing the study of English at the stage of transition from the school stage to the system of higher education. The essence of continuity as a pedagogical principle is that at each higher stage of education in determining the content of education takes into account everything that was learned at earlier stages. It is stated that one of the technologies to ensure the implementation of the principle of continuity directly in the educational process is the use of a leveling course, the possibilities of which to improve the knowledge of freshmen and eliminate the possible gap between the starting level of English and the requirements of the university program were demonstrated.

Abstract. We consider the methodological potential of environmental pedagogy in foreign language learning. The using modern educational technology of mixed learning “inverted class” in higher education, the introduction of new principles of the educational process in higher education, the search for new organizational forms of learning, interactive methods and technologies of foreign language teaching are necessary. The solution of the research problem is based on theoretical, methodological and practical issues considered in the study. Teaching a foreign language is based on the methodological potential of the noospheric approach. Foreign language teacher is a facilitator, consultant and ensures successful communication of students in the process of carrying out interdisciplinary or meta-disciplinary research projects. It has been determined that in order to form the ecological competence of future bachelors of biology in foreign language classes, it is necessary to use authentic texts, the selection of which takes into account the criteria of authenticity and genre diversity. It is concluded that environmental competence contains a system of environmental knowledge, skills and abilities, includes a behavioral aspect. The development of this competence is carried out in cooperation with special (biological, environmental) disciplines in teaching a foreign language.

The article reveals organizational and methodological support for students’ foreign language personalized learning path design in the context of digitalization of education, which is a step-by-step algorithm for designing flexible personalized models for non-language-major students’ foreign language learning in the electronic educational environment. The proposed models of foreign language learning by non-linguistic university students contribute to the implementation of active adaptability as a universal mechanism of educational process management based on the dynamic characteristics of the student, with the developed complex of varied affective technologies (increase of motivation and reduction of anxiety levels) as a means of achieving a more effective learning process. The methodological tips proposed in the study can be applied in the development of personalized adaptive learning systems, programs, methodological materials for teachers, instructions for creating adaptive formative and diagnostic control and measurement materials, methodological guidelines for university students.
