The research aims to explore and establish the ways of creating pedagogical framework for (i) popularizing the idea of poly-/multiculturalism, and (ii) forming relevant students' skills and abilities in foreign language instruction; to determine the extent to which the engaging mentoring teacher in the educating role may influence their poly-/multicultural competence.  To this end, poly-/multicultural competence is seen prerequisite of a foreign language teacher's professional competence. Experiment is the main method of the research. Assessment of the experiment effectiveness was carried out with the involvement of surveys/questionnaires, conducted in stages, along with observation as a method applied. The obtained data confirmed the key research hypothesis: the pedagogical framework for the formation of poly-/ multicultural competence with students seeking their bachelor’s degree to become teachers of a foreign language connects with mastering two or more foreign languages while intensifying the poly-/multicultural component of education. The main findings result in the contemporary need for formation of a FL teacher’s poly-/multicultural competence regarded as the improvement in foreign language proficiency, basic communication skills in a poly-/multiethnic environment, following the proactive positioning of such teacher.

Bilingual education from early stages (Candelier & Castelotti, 2013) has been developed in Europe over the last 30 years, which has led to the definition and study of multilingual and multicultural competence, the development of multilingualism didactics and complex concepts related to cultural competence (intercultural, metacultural, transcultural...). Within this framework, we propose to design a bilingual and bicultural French-Spanish visual dictionary that allows us to visualise the conceptual and cultural differences between the French and Spanish languages and cultures. Images, and specially pictures, for each word in each language, will develop awareness of linguistic relativity (éveil aux langues) and cultural relativity (éveil aux cultures). A sound version will be added thanks to a digital format in order to create a French-Spanish BILingual and BICultural AudioVisual dictionary (BILBICAV FRES). There is a strong tradition of attention to relationship factors in the field of counseling. The research on the importance of the relationship and adapting to client factors continues to grow, supporting the importance of professional multicultural competence. The field of counseling, specifically within the United States context, has focused on Multicultural Counseling Competencies with more recent emphasis on social justice through the Multicultural and Social Justice Counseling Competencies. Within these competencies, spirituality and religion are mentioned as multicultural components to consider as potentially salient to clients. Yet, there has been less emphasis on ways to adapt counseling to a client’s spirituality and religion compared to other multicultural components of one’s identity, such as race, gender, and culture. Historically, a lack of training, fear of causing offense, or concerns about influencing clients, resulted in clients’ spirituality and religion being overlooked far too often in counseling. Despite this tendency, recent clinical evidence on relational responsiveness identifies the adaptation of counseling to a client’s spirituality and religion as highly effective. In this article, the authors discuss how adapting counseling to a client’s spirituality and religion, in relation to all multicultural factors salient to the client, enhances relational responsiveness and treatment effectiveness. The authors also discuss the implications for training, supervision, and practice.

The relevance of addressing poly- / multiculturalism in the pedagogical plane is due to the current need of societies to bring up a young professional, who would become aware that today poly- / multiculturalism and polyethnicity make an integral part of the modern global world in general and the educational process, in particular. The research aims to explore and establish the ways of creating pedagogical framework for (i) popularizing the idea of poly- / multiculturalism, and (ii) forming relevant students' skills and abilities in foreign language (FL) instruction; to determine the extent to which the engaging mentoring teacher in the educating role may influence their poly- / multicultural competence.  To this end, poly- / multicultural competence is seen prerequisite of a FL teacher's professional competence. Experiment is the main method of the research. Assessment of the experiment effectiveness was carried out with the involvement of surveys / questionnaires, conducted in stages, along with observation as a method applied.

The process of addressing ethical perplexities is challenging and there is insufficiency of clear solutions and proper resources to resolve the ethical quandaries. Thus, this study aims to identify the greatest predictor of trainee counselors’ self-efficacy in addressing ethical perplexities. The greatest predictor of self-efficacy is expected to enhance the existing counseling ethics education curriculum and pedagogy. A quantitative methodological approach was administered through questionnaires. There were 148 trainee counselors selected through simple random cluster sampling and they were all students from private universities in Malaysia. The data gathered were analyzed using correlation and multiple regression analyses. Correlation analysis recorded the highest coefficient of r value which was a substantial relationship between self-efficacy and multicultural competence. Next, multiple regression analyses indicated that the three predictors which are multicultural competence, religiosity, and spirituality were predictive of self-efficacy. However, the strength of prediction varied. Multicultural competence had the most powerful prediction on trainee counselors’ self-efficacy, followed by spirituality, and religiosity. These findings revealed the importance of the three predictors in enhancing trainee counselors’ self-efficacy, addressing ethical quandaries, and developing pedagogic counseling education. The process of preparing and developing intuitive counseling professionals is worthy of attention in the counseling training and practice, specifically in addressing ethical perplexities. Thus, the three predictors should be integrated into the counselor education curriculum and pedagogy at all levels. Cultivation of these three predictors in all trainee counselors would build their level of self-efficacy and help in their survival during counseling dilemmas, leading to successful counseling sessions.
