Objective: The aim of this study is to determine the effect of marital adjustment on the quality of sex life in married women.Method: As a descriptive study, the universe of the present study consists of married women consulting to an education and research hospital and primary care clinics in a province while the sample is composed of 365 voluntary married women that are open to dialogue. In collecting the data, “Information form” containing socio-demographic background, “Marriage Adjustment form (MAF) and sexual life quality scale for woman  (SFQSW) were used. In analysing the data, arithmetic mean, percentage, frequency, Mann Whitney-U test, Kruskall Wallis Analysis and Spearman Correlation Analysis were employed.Findings: Arithmetic score of the MAF is 43.58±9.83 and that of SFQSW is 79.88±19.57 while significant relation between the scores was found in positive direction (p<0.05).Results: The more marital adjustment increases in women, the better the sexual life quality is. In order to increase the level of well-being and life quality in marriage, nurses are suggested to counsel the couples and family consultants are advised to inform the families on sexual issues and improve their communication skills.

Every individual wants to be gratified in his/her relations including marriage. Marriage is an important part of one's life as it effects social as well as emotional functioning of an individual. The present study aims to measure to investigate the roles of In-laws (experience with in- laws, husband’s supportive attitude and marital adjustment) in married life using correlation design. The questionnaires were given to 100 married women using snowball technique. Data was analyzed using SPSS version 16. The obtained results indicated a statistically significant positive relationship between the studied variables. Moreover, the study revealed a notable information about the role of relationship between the experience with in-laws and husband’s supportive attitude as a significant factor for successful marital adjustment and in developing a healthy relationship with in-laws. The study has implication for marriage counselors.

Abstract. The purpose of this study was to test the fit model of the emotional intelligence model as a mediator variable the influence of self-compassion on the marital adjustment of women with couples from different cultures. The dynamics that occur in women who have intercultural partners are in the spotlight in terms of their ability to adjust in marriage, in order to achieve a sakinah mawaddah wa rahmah marriage. This study uses a causal relationship design with a quantitative approach. The study participants were 220 women who have partners from different cultures. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. The measuring instrument used is a modification of the Marital Adjustment Questionaire (MAQ), Self Compassion Scale (SCS) and Assesing Emotional Scale (AES). Testing the validity of the measuring instrument used the Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) technique and the data analysis technique used the Structural Equotion Model (SEM). The results showed that the model fit with data. The direct effect of self compassion on the marital adjustment of married women for different cultures is -0.17. Meanwhile, the indirect effect of self compassion on the marital adjustment of married women with different cultures through emotional intelligence is 0.209. This shows that emotional intelligence acts as a mediator variable for the influence between self-compassion and marital adjustments on women’s with couples from different cultures. This research recommends the importance of this model as a reference for making special pre-marital training programs for married couples with different cultures, by prioritizing the role of emotional intelligence.  Abstrak. Tujuan penleitian ini adalah menguji fit model emotional intelligence sebagai mediator pengaruh self compassion terhadap marital adjustment wanita dengan pasangan beda budaya. Dinamika yang terjadi pada wanita yang memiliki pasangan beda budaya menjadi sorotan dalam hal kemampuan untuk menyesuaikan dalam pernikahan, guna tercapainya pernikahan yang sakinah mawaddah wa rahmah. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain causal relationship dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Partisipan penelitian sebanyak 220 wanita yang memiliki pasangan beda budaya. Teknik sampling yang digunakan adalah purposive sampling. Alat ukur yang digunakan adalah modifikasi dari Marital Adjustment Questionaire (MAQ), Self Compassion Scale (SCS) dan Assesing Emotional Scale (AES). Hal ini menunjukan bahwa emotional intelligence berperan sebagai mediator variabel pengaruh antara self compassion terhadap marital adjustment wanita dengan pasangan beda budaya. Riset ini merekomendasikan pentingnya model ini untuk menjadi acuan bagi pembuatan program pelatihan pranikah khusus bagi pasangan menikah beda budaya, dengan mengutamakan peran emotional intelligence.

The aim of the present investigation is to study marital adjustment between employed and unemployed married women of urban and rural area. The sample of the present study consisted of 120 married women and their range between 23 – 38 years. [30 employed and 30 unemployed women from urban area and 30 employed and 30 unemployed women from rural area.] The marital adjustment inventory was administered to all participants. The data was analyzed using means, SD and t – value. The results are discussed and conclusion is down. The main findings showed that there was a significant difference between employed and unemployed married women of urban area in respect to their marital adjustment scores. As regarding to rural area significant difference were also found between employed and unemployed married women on their marital adjustment.

To look into the effect of sexual myths and level of knowledge about sexuality on marital satisfaction in married couples. The study was carried on with 104 voluntary respondents; 57 of which are married women and 47 are married men. The data has been collected with Personal Information Questionnaire, Marital Adjustment Test, Sexual Myths Analysis Questionnaire and The Golombok Rust Inventory of Sexual Satisfaction (GRISS), data has been analyzed with SPSS 15.0 software package (Statistical Package for Social Sciences). According to these findings, as the belief in sexual myths increases, the sexual satisfaction decreases; yet the increase in the belief in sexual myths does not affect the marital satisfaction. The findings implicate that as the knowledge about sexuality increases, the sexual satisfaction increases while the marital satisfaction decreases. As the number of sexual myths increases, marital adjustment decreases. The findings don’t show any significant correlation between sexual satisfaction and marital adjustment.

Present study aimed to explore the differences of marital adjustment among educated women in Bangladesh, especially career or dual career married women and non-career or housewives. The study has focused on both qualitative and quantitative approach or mixed method to address the aforesaid issue. Field survey and face to face interview technique was used for data collection. A sample of fifty educated women (twenty-five career and twenty-five non-career women) was selected based on purposive sampling technique and a detailed interview schedule was constructed in this regard. This study revealed that higher educational qualification of husband and wife, increased marital cohesions and harmonies, dissolution and duration of marriage are very important for marital adjustment.
