Photovoltaic (PV) systems directly convert solar energy into electricity and researchers are taking into consideration the design of photovoltaic cell interconnections to form a photovoltaic module that maximizes solar irradiance. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the cell spacing effect of light diffusion on output power. In this work, the light absorption of solar PV cells in a module with three different cell spacings was studied. An optical engineering software program was used to analyze the reflecting light on the backsheet of the solar PV module towards the solar cell with varied internal cell spacing of 2 mm, 5 mm, and 8 mm. Then, assessments were performed under standard test conditions to investigate the power output of the PV modules. The results of the study show that the module with an internal cell spacing of 8 mm generated more power than 5 mm and 2 mm. Conversely, internal cell spacing from 2 mm to 5 mm revealed a greater increase of power output on the solar PV module compared to 5 mm to 8 mm. Furthermore, based on the simulation and experiment, internal cell spacing variation showed that the power output of a solar PV module can increase its potential to produce more power from the diffuse reflectance of light.

In this work, one self-invented closed single screw dehydrator was used to dehydrate wet natural rubber, instead of current three opened crepers and one hammer mill at home and abroad. The dehydration technology and the properties of the obtained dry natural rubber were studied. The results show that single screw dehydrator can simplify dehydration process. The water consumption of single screw dehydrator is 20% of current productive technology, meaning a lower wastewater discharge and treatment cost of wastewater. The moisture content of dehydrated natural rubber is lower than 20%, a good dehydration effect. The dry natural rubber dehydrated with single screw dehydrator has an improved thermal-oxidation ageing resistance whether dried by hot-air or microwave. The thermal-oxidation ageing resistance of natural rubber dried by microwave is better than that of hot-air drying, the value of initial plasticity (P0) and plasticity retention index (PRI) are 29.3 unit value and 19.26 unit value greater than that of SCR5 in GB/T 8081, respectively.

Elevated levels of reactive oxygen species (ROS) damage the internal cell components. Padina boryana, a brown alga from the Maldives, was subjected to polysaccharide extraction. The Celluclast enzyme assisted extract (PBE) and ethanol precipitation (PBP) of P. boryana were assessed against hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) induced cell damage and zebra fish models. PBP which contains the majority of sulfated polysaccharides based on fucoidan, showed outstanding extracellular ROS scavenging potential against H2O2. PBP significantly declined the intracellular ROS levels, and exhibited protection against apoptosis. The study revealed PBPs’ ability to activate the Nrf2/Keap1 signaling pathway, consequently initiating downstream elements such that catalase (CAT) and superoxide dismutase (SOD). Further, ROS levels, lipid peroxidation values in zebrafish studies were declined with the pre-treatment of PBP. Collectively, the results obtained in the study suggest the polysaccharides from P. boryana might be a potent source of water soluble natural antioxidants that could be sustainably utilized in the industrial applications.

This article studied the dehydration effect of elutriation sludge produced in the process of cultivating aerobic granular sludge, which is a joint regulation of cationic polyacrylamide (CPAM) and modified coal fly ash, using sludge specific resistance(SRF) and moisture content of sludge extent as the target. The results show that the greater the relative molecular weight, the better effect is. CPAM whose relative molecular weight is 8 million is the best type when solo casted. When casted by15 mg/L, SRF is reduced to 0.43×108 S2/g, The 1 g/L coal fly ash and 15 mg/L 8 million CPAM joint control, SRF is reduced to 0.4×108 S2/g, moisture content is 72.04%. When using modified coal fly ash, the result is better. Modified coal fly ash can effectively promote the efficiency of CPAM as the coagulant aid. It can further reduce SRF and moisture content of the sludge. We can observe the effects modified coal fly ash joint CPAM has on elutriation sludge morphology by scanning electron microscopy (SEM).

By using a standard stretch spline as the research object, the influence of gas counter pressure (GCP) technology on melt foaming behavior in chemical foaming injection molding (CFIM) process was investigated. Related experimental line for GCP assisted CFIM foam was designed, and the effect of GCP technology on melt flow front, spline surface quality and internal cell was studied. According to the results obtained from the experiment, two critical GCP pressures and one critical GCP holding time were innovation proposed. Two critical GCP pressures are the critical GCP pressure of melt flow front cell not cracking and the critical GCP pressure of melt not foaming, respectively. The critical GCP holding time is the secondary foaming behavior time. Based on the proposed critical GCP pressures and critical GCP holding time, the influence mechanism of GCP technology on melt foaming action during CFIM process was revealed.

We showed previously that the Schistosoma japonicum insulin-like peptide (SjILP) binds the worm insulin receptors, thereby, activating the parasite’s insulin pathway and emphasizing its important role in regulating uptake of glucose, a nutrient essential for parasite survival. Here we show that SjILP is differentially expressed in the schistosome life cycle and is especially highly transcribed in eggs, miracidia, and adult female worms. RNA inference was employed to knockdown SjILP in adults in vitro, with suppression confirmed by significantly reduced protein production, declined adenosine diphosphate levels, and reduction in glucose consumption. Immunolocalization showed that SjILP is located to lateral gland cells of mature intra-ovular miracidia in the schistosome egg, and is distributed on the ciliated epithelium and internal cell masses of newly transformed miracidia. In schistosomula, SjILP is present on the tegument in two antero-lateral points, indicating highly polarized expression during cercarial transformation. Analysis of serum from S. japonicum-infected mice by ELISA using a recombinant form of SjILP as an antigen revealed IgG immunoreactivity to this molecule at 7 weeks post-infection indicating it is likely secreted from mature eggs into the host circulation. These findings provide further insights on ILP function in schistosomes and its essential roles in parasite survival and growth in different development stages.
