Japan is a country whose people have a high awareness of the importance of environmental preservation. The environment in Japan can be maintained well not apart from the cooperation between the government and the community together to preserve and protect the surrounding environment. One of the keys to Japan's success in protecting the environment is the consistent and dynamic implementation of environmental education since elementary school age. Environmental education in primary schools in Japan is taught directly through experiments and direct observation in the surrounding environment. Environmental education in primary schools in Japan is associated with several subjects, one of which is the subject of Natural Sciences (rika) and Social Sciences (shakai). Environmental education is also taught through integrated study activities (sougotekina gakushu), through efforts to maintain cleanliness together, through assignments during the summer holidays. The model of environmental education is implemented consistently and with full awareness by elementary school managers in Japan and their students so as to produce students who have a high awareness of the importance of protecting the environment.

ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION AS A WAY OF PRESERVING A SOURCE MODEL OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF ITAPIRA – SPLA EDUCACIÓN AMBIENTAL COMO FORMA DE PRESERVACIÓN DE UNA FUENTE MODELO DEL MUNICIPIO DE ITAPIRA – SPAtualmente, a preocupação com o meio ambiente está presente na vida de grande parte da população. Estudos sobre ações ambientais que visam à conservação de nascentes e suas matas ciliares se mostram de extrema importância para embasar programas de proteção desses olhos d’água e recomposição desses ecossistemas. Neste artigo, discute-se a importância da educação ambiental como forma de preservação da nascente modelo do município de Itapira-SP. A ação foi desenvolvida pela Secretaria de Meio Ambiente junto aos alunos do 3º, 4º e 5º ano do ensino fundamental da EMEB Gilmery Vasconcellos Pereira Ulbricht, que realizaram uma visita monitorada nessa nascente, sendo trabalhados tópicos de preservação dessa nascente e de seu entorno. O estudo procurou sensibilizar as autoridades e a sociedade para a conscientização e preservação desse ambiente natural, uma vez que há carência de informações e a preocupação com a possível ameaça de escassez hídrica que tanto se alardeia pelo mundo. A partir desta atividade foi possível verificar mudanças comportamentais nesses alunos, na maneira de pensar e agir, refletindo em ações conscientes para com o meio ambiente.Palavras-chave: Nascente; Educação Ambiental; Itapira.ABSTRACTToday, concern for the environment is present in the lives of a large part of the population. Studies on environmental actions aiming at the conservation of springs and their riparian forests are extremely important in order to support programs to protect these waters and restore these ecosystems. This article discusses the importance of environmental education as a form of environmental preservation of the source of the municipality of Itapira-SP. The action was developed by the Department of the Environment together with the students of the 3rd, 4th and 5th year of the elementary school of the EMEB Gilmery Vasconcellos Pereira Ulbricht that carried out a monitored visit in this source, being worked topics of preservation of this spring and its surroundings. The study sought to sensitize the authorities and society for the awareness and preservation of this natural environment, since there is a lack of information and concern about the possible threat of water scarcity that is so much in the world. The main objective of the article was to highlight the importance of the spring to Mindu Municipal Park, as well as, propose solutions to the problems that were observed on the spot, the research aimed to demonstrate the activities aimed at spring recovery and revitalization of areas affected by degradation. The collections were performed three times a week over two months, from March to April 2018. Being possible to verify the conditions of the environment and how it was before the application of the Park's revitalization and maintenance activities. Being possible to delimit the first activities that will be applied to realize the restructuring and revitalization of the space. With the project initiative, more visitors were found in the Park, and with each step completed, awareness grew about the importance of environmental preservation. Therefore, encouraging visitors to participate in social and environmental activities is essential to sustain the site.

Studies regarding pro-environmental behavior in adolescents are lacking. This study aimed to examine the importance of pro-environmental behavior in adolescents (high school and university students) by conducting literature review from previous studies on pro environmental behavior. Pro-environmental behavior is the behavior of individuals that contributes towards environmental preservation. Based on previous studies, measurement of pro-environmental behavior were investigated on several theories, namely theory of planned behavior (TPB) and value, belief, norms (VBN) by using aspects of pro environmental behavior. Young people with critical thinking, and good environmental education, are expected to behave more environmentally friendly for creating a sustainable future.

A urgência do tratamento das questões ambientais e da promoção de processos mais sustentáveis, assim como a crescente competitividade entre os destinos turísticos e os impactos negativos gerados pelo turismo exigem que todos os envolvidos na cadeia turística tomem consciência de sua corresponsabilidade na preservação ambiental e melhoria da qualidade de vida da população. A Educação Ambiental (EA) apresenta-se como uma grande aliada do turismo sustentável, ao promover a tomada de consciência por meio da vivência. Este artigo é um recorte da dissertação de mestrado do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Geografia da Universidade Federal de Uberlândia e tem como propósito discutir sobre a importância da Educação Ambiental para o desenvolvimento do Turismo Sustentável. Caracteriza-se como pesquisa exploratória sendo consultados para contextualização e abordagem da temática livros, artigos científicos, legislação e sites. This article is a cut of the master's dissertation of the Postgraduate Program in Geography of the Federal University of Uberlândia and aims to discuss the importance of Environmental Education for the development of Sustainable Tourism. It is characterised as exploratory research being consulted for contextualization and approach of thematic books, scientific articles, legislation and sites. This article sought to analyze the Climate Action Plan for the City of São Paulo 2020-2050 (PlanClima SP), published in June 2021, in dialogue with the documents: Curriculum of the City of Natural Sciences and 2030 Agenda. In a critical perspective of Environmental Education, the PlanClima SP establishes some actions towards zero carbon in 2050. In this sense, the objective of the study was to analyze the potentialities presented in the document for the development of sustainable pedagogical practices. The methodology selected for this study was qualitative, carried out with the analysis of the cited documents based on the concept of the Critical Environmental Education. The results found demonstrate practical possibilities for actions aimed at training critical and reflective students for a sustainable development. The Environmental Education actions proposed in the analyzed material point to the modification and construction of behaviors and attitudes aimed at the culture of environmental preservation. It is concluded that the discussion about carbon emissions in a critical and conscious way, through pedagogical practices, is powerful in environmental preservation and sustainability.

This interdisciplinary research has the playful art as a tool to raise awareness about the conservation of sharks and the environmental health of the Ocean, in addition to the search for the demystification of some concepts bringing to light the biological and ecological importance that this emblematic group represents for the natural balance of the Blue Planet. In the months of June and July 2018 at the visiting aquarium in Paraíba, a space for the propagation of non-formal environmental education, it was sought through the theatrical play "Swimming in Safety, a Sea of Hope" to apply the way of doing and teaching the concepts of sustainability and environmental preservation since the choice of the team, the actors and scenographic materials. Through exploratory and participant research, photographic and video records, we investigated the reactions of the audience before, during and after the play. The evaluation process was permanent in order to make constant improvements. The play tried to highlight not only information about the characteristics and importance of preserving sharks, but also the main threats such as the practice of finning, which through a plot between the pirate and the shark and the echinoderms, it was possible to explain the defence systems that each being has, all of which are important, showing that sharks are worth much more alive than dead. The expertise and performance of artistic activities such as juggling, magic and balance contributed to the success of the play. The results prove that this type of multidisciplinary experience, which promotes learning through enchantment, should be encouraged because it will certainly constitute a basis for future attitudes, especially in children, since they will feel encouraged to protect nature, according to the premises of the Decade of Oceanic Science and Ecological Restoration.

The environmental conditions in Indonesia, especially those in the urban areas, have experienced very severe quality degradation. From the aspect of culture, the Indonesia people have inherited customs and traditions on preservation of their nature and environment. Tradition and cultures including values are usually transferred from parents to their children. In this research, a survey was conducted to investigate the influence of parents’ behavior on the children knowledge on the environmental preservation awareness. Respondents were selected from several elementary school students located near Cikapundung River, Bandung-Indonesia. Questionnaires were distributed to explore on how the students preserve the river located near their school.  The research showed that the behavior ofthe parents had a weak positive correlation to the knowledge of the child in maintaining the environment, with the determination coefficient of 0.3. Local traditions or wisdom which tend to appreciate nature and environment have also been faded.  As much as 46 percent of respondent believe that wastewater can be discharged directly to the river. This research result also conclude that not only the children’s environmental awareness that need to be increased, but their parents’ through official environmental education at school and upholding the local wisdoms in the community. With the involvement of other key stakeholders, the environmental education and the preservation of the local wisdom then can be maintained in the future. Keywords: parents’ behavior, children awareness of environmental preservation

Resumo O cenário de degradação ambiental torna o futuro do nosso planeta incerto. Diversas organizações tentam reverter este problema e a educação ambiental é um instrumento essencial para uma possível mudança. O objetivo deste trabalho é sensibilizar estudantes do ensino médio sobre a importância do descarte adequado dos resíduos sólidos e demonstrar como é possível mudar atitudes diárias para a preservação ambiental. O projeto foi desenvolvido com alunos do 3º ano, em um colégio da rede estadual de ensino do Paraná. Em outubro de 2018, produziu-se uma composteira e 13 alunos foram convidados a participar voluntariamente da execução do projeto. Inicialmente, diversas palestras foram realizadas sobre os temas transversais à compostagem. Após a construção, todos os resíduos orgânicos produzidos na escola passaram a ser depositados na composteira. Os alunos foram incentivados, também, a transmitir os conhecimentos adquiridos à comunidade, com o intuito de ampliar a disseminação da educação ambiental. Antes e depois das atividades, aplicaram-se questionários para examinar o conhecimento prévio dos alunos e os saberes desenvolvidos no decurso do projeto. Após as intervenções, visualizou-se, com auxílio dos questionários, a evolução dos alunos, além de uma maior sensibilização em relação à destinação correta dos resíduos gerados. Aspira-se que mais trabalhos sobre o tema sejam realizados no ambiente escolar — local em que parte da formação dos sujeitos ocorre. Palavras-chave: Biodegradação. Metodologias alternativas. Sensibilização ambiental. Abstract The scenario of environmental degradation makes the future of our planet uncertain. Several organizations are trying to reverse this problem and environmental education is an essential instrument to change the current situation. This work aimed to raise awareness among high school students about the importance of proper disposal of solid waste and demonstrate how simply it is possible to change daily attitudes towards environmental preservation. The project was developed with 3rd grade students from a school in the state education system of Paraná. In October 2018, a composter was produced and 13 students were invited to participate voluntarily of the execution of the project. Initially, several lectures were held on the transversal themes of composting. After construction, all organic waste produced at the school was deposited in the compost bin. The students were also encouraged to transmit the knowledge acquired to the community, aiming to broaden the dissemination of environmental education. Before and after the activities, questionnaires were applied to examine the students' previous knowledge, as well as the knowledge they developed during all the activities. After the interventions, it was possible to visualize, with the help of the questionnaires, the evolution in the students' knowledge about the theme, as well as an awareness about the correct destination of the waste generated. It is hoped that more work aimed at environmental awareness will be carried out in the school environment — where part of the individuals’ formation occurs. Keywords: Biodegradation. Diversas organizaciones intentan revertir ese problema y la educación ambiental es un instrumento esencial para un posible cambio. El objetivo de este trabajo es sensibilizar a estudiantes de la educación media sobre la importancia de la eliminación responsable de los residuos sólidos y demostrar cómo es posible cambiar actitudes diarias para la preservación ambiental. El proyecto se desarrolló con estudiantes de tercer año, en un colegio de la red estatal de educación de Paraná. En octubre de 2018 se construyó una compostera y 13 alumnos fueron invitados a participar de forma voluntaria en la ejecución del proyecto. Inicialmente, se realizaron varias charlas sobre temas transversales al compostaje. Después de la construcción, todos los desechos orgánicos producidos en la escuela pasaron a ser depositados en la compostera. Los alumnos fueron incentivados, también, a trasmitir los conocimientos adquiridos a la comunidad, con el propósito de ampliar la difusión de la educación ambiental. Antes y después de las actividades, se aplicaron cuestionarios para examinar el conocimiento previo de los alumnos y los desarrollados en el curso del proyecto. Después de las prácticas, se pudo comprobar, por medio de cuestionarios, el progreso de los alumnos, además de una gran sensibilización respecto a la eliminación correcta de los residuos generados. Se espera que más trabajos sobre el tema sean desarrollados en el ambiente escolar ‒— lugar en donde se produce parte de la formación de los sujetos. Palabras-clave: Biodegradación.
