The pseudoscorpion Chernes similis (Beier, 1932) is reported from the Baltic region for the first time. The new record from Lithuania is based on a single male specimen found in a mould growing in a hollow of a Tilia L. tree in the Botanical Garden of Vilnius University. This finding represents the northernmost record of C. similis. With the new record of C. similis, nine pseudoscorpion species, belonging to six genera and three families, are currently known from Lithuania.

AbstractResults of inventory of lichen-forming, lichenicolous and allied saprobic fungi from the Čepkeliai State Nature Reserve are presented. From this largest in Lithuania mire complex, altogether 207 species (of these, 180 species of lichens, 22 lichenicolous and 5 non-lichenized saprobic fungi) are reported. One lichenized – Fuscidea praeruptorum and two lichenicolous species – Sphaerellothecium cladoniae and Taeniolella cladinicola are reported for the first time in Lithuania. Two lichenicolous fungi – Endococcus tricolorans and Nectriopsis cariosae are reported for the first time in the Baltic region. Parmelia and Pseudevernia are reported as new host genera for Endococcus tricolorans.

Abstract Pentias thompsoni Collinge, 1916 is recorded for the first time from China. The male specimen is described firstly, including the micromorphological characters of penes and appendix masculina. The partial sequences of the mitochondrial cytochrome c oxidase subunit I (COI) of the species are also provided for a molecular characterization.

A new Lessepsian migrant, Synchiropus sechellensis Regan, 1908 (Teleostei: Callionymidae), was recorded for the first time by a single male specimen, during bottom trawl operation in the Mediterranean Sea.

Chrysoclista karsholti Šumpich, sp. n., is described from a single male collected in Turkey. This species most resembles C. germanica Šumpich & Huemer, 2016, but differs in the colouration of the dorsum of the forewing and in the shape of the valva in the male genitalia. Differences in the DNA barcode region between these two species are rather low compared to differences between other species of the genus. Chrysoclista germanica, previously known only from the holotype, is recorded from the Czech Republic for the first time. An updated checklist of western Palaearctic Chrysoclista Stainton, 1854 is provided.

Epigomphus pechumani Belle, 1970, was described based upon a single male specimen in poor condition, lacking specific locality in Colombia. Here the male is redescribed and the female is described and illustrated for the first time based on a total of 18 adults collected in Tatamá National Park, Risaralda Department, and Farallones de Cali National Park, Valle del Cauca Department, Colombia. A diagnosis, notes on its biology and a distributional map are presented. All material is deposited in the Entomological collection of Universidad de Antioquia.

Tylograptus, Sinograptus, Pterograptus, Syndyograptus, and Reteograptus pulcherrimus are described from northern Yukon. The last three taxa are recognized for the first time in northern Canada. Reteograptus pulcherrimus occurs in Ashgillian age beds, the remainder in Llanvirnian and Llandeilian beds. All taxa are found in regions bordering the present Pacific or Arctic Oceans; however, Pterograptus also occurs in the Baltic region, and Syndyograptus is found in the Appalachian region.

Marinoni & Martins (1978) proposed Anasillus for a single species, A. crinitus Marinoni & Martins, 1978, based on a single male specimen from Peru, and until now, the female remained unknown. Herein, the female of this species is described and illustrated for the first time, and its geographical distribution is expanded to Colombia. Additionally, the geographical distribution of seven species of Cerambycidae is expanded to Colombia: Coleoxestia vittata (Thomson, 1861); Sphallenopsis pilosovittata (Bates, 1872); Aneflus (Protaneflus) minutivestis Chemsak & Linsley, 1963; Mallocera amazonica Bates, 1870; Compsibidion charile (Bates, 1870); Alcidion sulphurifer (White, 1855); and Acanthoderes (Acanthoderes) ariasi Chemsak & Hovore, 2002.

Chromosomes of two species of the tribe Aylacini (Cynipidae), Isocolus jaceae (Schenck, 1863) and I. scabiosae (Giraud, 1859) (both have 2n = 18) were studied for the first time. In addition, 2n = 20 is confirmed in a member of the same tribe, Aulacidea hieracii (Bouché, 1834). All chromosomes of these gall wasps are biarmed; however, they gradually decrease in size in the case of A. hieracii, whereas a pair of large metacentrics is characteristic of karyotypes of both Isocolus Förster, 1869 species. Chromosomes of the two latter gall wasps are either metacentric or submetacentric, but elements with lower centromeric indices prevail in the karyotype of A. hieracii. Chromomycin A3 (CMA3)/DAPI staining revealed single CMA3-positive bands on a particular pair of chromosomes of all species, and these bands apparently refer to the nucleolus organizing regions (NORs). However, localization of CMA3-positive bands differs substantially between the studied members of Isocolus and Aulacidea Ashmead, 1897. Together with normal haploid and diploid mitotic divisions, several metaphase plates with 2n = 17 containing a peculiar dicentric chromosome were found in a single male specimen of I. scabiosae; this appears to be the first report of an obvious dicentric in the order Hymenoptera in general. Certain aspects of the chromosome diversity and karyotype evolution within the family Cynipidae and the tribe Aylacini in particular are briefly discussed.

The pseudoscorpion Lamprochernes savignyi (Simon, 1881) is reported in Central Europe for the first time. The new record from Switzerland is based on a single female specimen found in a compost heap in the Conservatory and Botanical Garden in Geneva. Until now, the species is distributed mainly in Africa, Americas, and Asia, less in Australia and Oceania, Europe, and the Arabian Peninsula. The new record fills in the gap in species distribution between Northern Europe and the Anatolian Peninsula. A description of the collected female is provided.

Pygolampis striata Miller, 1940 was previously described, based on a single male specimen. However, there are no records of the species since then. The females and nymphs were not described and knowledge about their habitat is insufficient. This is the first record of the assassin bug Pygolampis striata Miller, 1940 from Japan and Indonesia. Here, this species has been re-described and, for the first time, the female has been described. The species was collected from the surfaces of dried Poaceae grasslands using the "Gasa-Gasa collecting method".
