Attitude have to do with evaluating things, people’s characters, and their feelings. Attitude can be identified not only from the dialogues used by people in their daily life interaction, but also from the characters’ dialogues in a movie. This research takes attitude and its language functions in Aladdin as the main character in Aladdin 2019 movie. This research focuses on; 1) What attitudes are revealed from Aladdin, the main character in Aladdin 2019 movie? 2) What language functions of Aladdin’s attitude in Aladdin 2019 movie? This research use qualitative method. There are two types of data, they are audio visual and document; Aladdin 2019 movie and its movie script. Technique of collecting data in this research use the audio visual documentation study technique and the researcher conducted mixed stages from some of the theories of analyzing data. To analyze data, researcher uses Appraisal System theory by J.R Martin, David Rose, and P.R.R White. The result of this research shows; 1) Aladdin as the main character in Aladdin 2019 movie revealed three types of attitudes; affect, judgment, and appreciation with 2) Aladdin’s attitude revealed five language functions from seven language functions by M.A.K Halliday; representational function, interactional function, personal function, heuristic function and regulatory function. Though, all types of attitude revealed in the movie, yet the most salient attitude Aladdin shown is positive appreciation, and the language used in his expressions has representational function.Keywords: Appraisal System, Attitude, Affect, Judgment, Appreciation, Aladdin.

<em>This research aims to describe and explain: (1) the conversation structure in the classroom interaction of Indonesian language subject between teachers-students and among students and (2) the language function of the teachers' language and students' language in the classroom interaction. This research was conducted at SMA Negeri 2 Sragen. The subjects of this study were the use of language the teacher and students in Indonesian language course. The data in the form of sentences and discourse were analyzed by Sinclair &amp; Cotlthard (1975) theory and Halliday (1973) theory. This research belongs to qualitative research using case study methods. The results of this study are; first, in the teachers-students conversation structure and the students-students conversation structure found new actions, namely, repeat. Both of the sequences of the conversation structure unit are from the largest to the smallest, namely: lesson, transaction, exchange, move, and act. Second, the language functions in the teachers’ language and students’ language, namely: the instrumental function, the regulatory function, the interaction function, the representational function, the personnel function, and the heuristic function.</em>

The purpose of this study was to determine the struggle of the main character namely Rocky in Don't Breathe Movie. The writer uses the descriptive qualitative method in analyzing the struggles of the main characters in Don't Breathe Movie written by Fede Álvarez to make paper arrangements correctly. The procedures that the writer takes to get the best results are observing and understanding the movie, collecting data consisting of struggles, choosing theories to analyze data, analyzing data using theories, making conclusions from the analysis, and finally compiling the final project. The results of this study are the writer finds three types of struggle namely; struggle for life, struggle for love and, internal struggle. The struggle of life when the main character in the movie survives with full force in any situation, the struggle of love when the character in the movie has a feeling of love with other characters, the internal struggle when the character in the movie has desires and problems in her life. This movie teaches humans about how important the struggle in life and make a better change, never give up and despair. The research is a pragmatic study on positive politeness strategies employed by the main characters in “ Greatest Showman” and “Chappie” films in the context of differences certain the century society. the researcher use Brown and Levinson’s theory of positive politeness theory. Politeness is the way of self strategies in communication to others, in order to received their meanings well. The objectives of this research are to find out the types of positive politeness strategies by main character in the setting 19th Century society (Greatest Showman film) and 21st  Century setting society (Chappie film) and to find out factors affecting main character to choice that strategies. The researcher used a qualitative method since the data engaged are displayed in the form of strings of words. The result shows that Phineas in “Greatest Showman” that can be conclude  in 19th century society, generally showed social class, kept family relation well, and respected for abnormal people. Diffrent with Deon in “Chappie” film that can be conclude in 21st century society, people concern with technology development, a lot of gangster who do the crime, and people communicate only in certain interests.Keywords: Pragmatics, Politeness Strategy, Movie Script

This study discusses the verbal language of witnesses in uncovering cases of domestic violence in the jurisdiction of Banjarmasin Police by using the Halliday consept and forensic linguistics approach. The purpose of this study is to describe the verbal language in revealing the victim witness violence in the home (domestic violence) in the jurisdiction of Banjarmasin Police. The method used in this research is the descriptive qualitative method. The procedure of this study conducted in three stages, namely: 1) collecting data; 2) analyzing the data that has been provided; and 3) presenting the results of the data analysis. The data in this research are speeches of witness in domestic violence cases which were experienced and reported to the police, in January 2017. Data were collected by using the following techniques: 1) observation, 2) documentation, and 3) interview. The analysis shows that there are four functions of language used by the victim witness in uncovering cases of domestic violence, namely: 1) the personal function, 2) regulatory function, 3) representation function, and 4) heuristic function.

Movie script is a narrative literary wok that has intrinsic elements in it, that the intrinsic elements are theme, setting, point of view, plot, moral value, and last but not least are character and characterization. Movie script that are visualized into movies are categorized as modern dramas. Nowdays, the movie is used as a medium of entertainment and as a medium for delivering messages. This research aims to find two things, that is the personality disorders experienced by the main character in “Inside Out” movie script by Pete Docter. In this research, the researcher uses Sigmun Freud’s psychoanalytic theory (1923), and assisted by other supporting theories. The result of the research found that there were eight types of personality disorders of ten types of personality disorders. The aims of this research is to understand the responsibility of Mickey Haller as a lawyer. By using descriptive qualitative method, the writer will describes all things in the movie itself. The data were collected from some sources, such as books in library of Senayan ,Library of STIBA Nusa Mandiri, Google books and Website. The writer found the result of analysis about an interesting character from Mickey Haller as main character. Mickey Haller is a lawyer with high responsibility in his work. It makes him never give up on solving the case at hand. Mickey Haller is known as a lawyer who can acquit his clients from criminal penalties although most of his clients are criminal such bikers, con artist, drunk drivers, and drug dealers. Besides Mickey Haller was responsible for the work, he is also responsible for the safety of his family. He protects his children and ex-wife of the evil people who do not like him. Hedonism is a view of life in philosophy that seeks to avoid pain and make pleasure as the main goal in life. People who embrace hedonism tend to over-pursue pleasure. The hedonism lifestyle is mostly carried out by 18th century people especially the nobles who live in high culture. They are as close to hedonism as they are in the Persuasion novel by Jane Austen. Sir Walter Elliot the main character is a nobleman who did a lot of hedonism. Hedonism which is seen as too glorifying personal pleasure to ignore others. The purpose of this study was to find out the types of hedonism done by Sir Walter Elliot in Persuasion. This research uses descriptive qualitative method because all data are in the form of sentences. The researcher uses a philosophical approach and analyzes data using Weijers' theory as the main theory. The results of this study found that Sir Walter Elliot performed two types of hedonism, namely aesthetic hedonism and selfish hedonism.

This research aims to find out the benefits of using the Card Payment Inatrument in Tegal. This research was conducted in the Tegal by taking 100 respondents to visitors shopping center in Tegal. The respondent despite into two groups, 50 male respondents and 50 female respondents this research use qualitative method. Respondents were randomly selected and the data were collected based on in depth interview results. The results of this research show that the Card Payment Method has a huge benefit for its users. Some societies state. able to bring cost-effective behavior because it can control spending. Of money. However, there are also people who give the perception that APMK is a secure payment instrument because mostly card has a Personal Indentification Number in it. This study investigated the types of phrasal verbs encountered in a movie entitled Blood Diamond. The problems of this study is what types of phrasal verb are found in the movie entitled Blood Diamond?. This study employed descriptive and qualitative method to provide a well-organized description regarding the problems being identified. The data of this study were obtained by observation method through four stages. Firstly, watching the Blood Diamond movie. Secondly, finding and taking notes the phrasal verb spoken by the characters in the movie Blood Diamond. Reading the online movie script and finally the writer categorized the types of data based on the theory proposed by McCarthy & O’Dell (2007:8). There were two types of phrasal verb encountered namely transitive and intransitive phrasal verb, in which transitive phrasal verb can be specialized into separable or non-separable transitive phrasal verb. The result of the study demonstrated that there are 8 data of phrasal verbs discovered in the movie Blood Diamond consisting 4 transitive phrasal verbs and 4 intransitive phrasal verbs.

The purpose of this research is to analyze mathematical understanding ability, especially students of  mathematics education at second semester. Understanding ability that was researched is about group of algebra structure. This research use descriptif qualitative method. Subject at this research are second semester  mathematics education student in Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta in academic year 2018/2019. Data in this research were  obtained with interview, test, and documentation. Results showed student with high creative attitude has translation ability, interpretation ability, and exploration ability. Student with medium creative attitude has translation ability and  interpretation ability, but  hasn’t exploration ability. Student with low creative attitude has translation ability, but hasn’t interpretation ability and exploration ability
