Abstract. The aim of the paper is to justify the decision on cooperation with entities in the transport service market for foreign trade operations based on the assessment of logistics chain reliability and shipping time on different routes. The research findings will enable cargo owners and other stakeholders to make management decisions at the delivery planning stage optimizing all processes related to customs and logistics services. Methods. We assess the reliability of four logistics chain types based on a simulation model developed in the GPSS software environment using the method of statistical testing. Results. Customs and logistics service users challenge entities in the transport service market with the task of performing foreign trade operations in compliance with the highest level of quality and service reliability minimizing the cost of delivery and shipping time. The proposed method allows determining the probability of timely delivery of goods in different transportation directions as well as the reliability of the studied process. Scientific novelty. The obtained simulation results will make it possible to work out proposals and recommendations for customs and logistics service users on the choice of an optimal logistics chain type, taking into account its impact on shipping time and reliability of goods delivery. Practical value. The practical value of the research is that the proposed method will allow foreign economic entities to form logistics chains, taking into account available resources and the need to use the services of other companies in international goods delivery. In this case, the efficiency of a logistics chain can be further assessed by the shipping time and reliability for export/import operations.

For companies competing in highly dynamic markets, coordination is considered a fundamental component for achieving a higher level of supply chain efficiency. Information and communication technology (ICT) is essential enabler of supply chain coordination and synchronization. The focus of this chapter is on the analysis of ICT adoption in small third-party logistics service providers (3PLs) as prerequisite for improving supply chain coordination. On the basis of evidences emerging from a questionnaire survey carried out on the Italian logistics service market, the chapter analyses ICT usage and the factors inhibiting and facilitating the adoption of technology for supply chain coordination and integration of small 3PLs. A number of implications are derived from the research and managerial perspectives.

With Russian enterprises and organizations operating in the sphere of tourism integrated into the global tourist service market, Russian tourist market players increasingly come under the influence of global tourist factors and development trends. At the marketing activity planning stage, especially when creating tourist service offers, companies are to take into account the common factors regulating and determining global tourist demand. The article provides an analysis of the major global tourism development trends, which, according to the authors, are to provided for by marketing decision-makers primarily in regards inbound tourism. The authors conclude that the trends included in the analysis are potentially influential at regional and micro levels.

This study is aimed at increasing the efficiency of multimodal freight transportations by forming a risks management system based on the identification of transport risk factors, methods of their measurement and management both at the projecting (planning) stage of the multimodal route and further on – in order to assess their possible impact on the efficiency of freight transportation in general. The authors examine the problematics of multimodal freight transportations organization in the context of transport risks management, which provides for the choice of such an option of management influences on elements of the transportation system (logistics centers, transport hubs, various types of transport, freight transport units, specific transport companies and their rolling stock, containers, etc.), in which freight delivery would be carried out in terms of the most efficient and qualitative indicators under the known initial conditions and existing restrictions. The article substantiates the proposals development in view of optimal relationships between elements of multimodal freight transportations on the basis of an efficient risks management system, which is a special type of management activity directed towards mitigating the influence of risk groups, determining the permissible (acceptable) level of risk based on methods that allow avoiding losses arising as result of a particular risk. A methodical approach to choosing the optimal multimodal transport-technological scheme is proposed, which allows considering subjective criteria (completeness of service, reliability, etc.) as decisive under the condition of relatively equal cost and time of alternative freight delivery options and in the context of permissible values of such objective criteria as storage conditions, high-speed mode of transportation in the territory of a particular country, region, city, axial load, climatic conditions, ecological restrictions, etc. At the scientific-methodological level, the stage of the decision-making process is generalized along with the separation of relevant goals in the context of managing transport risks in multimodal freight transportations, the observance of which will guarantee to ensure the acceptance by the operator of multimodal transportations of a rational and secure transport-technological scheme of freight delivery.

Although existing contributions that explore service quality guarantee problem of a logistic service supply chain (LSSC) consider fairness concern behavior of one member, little attention is paid to considering the combination of members’ fairness concern and the joint decision of pricing and service quality guarantee in LSSC. Therefore, it is necessary to research how different fairness concern affects the joint decision of pricing and service quality guarantee in an LSSC. First considering a price and quality-sensitive logistics service market, a basic model without fairness concern of a customized LSSC is established. Then, a new model with fairness concern of a decentralized LSSC is constructed based on the basic model. The optimal decision of the LSSC with fairness concern is investigated in three cases. In each case, we analyze the effect of fairness concern on the optimal decision, and the expected profits and utilities. Finally, some numerical studies are shown to verify our theoretical analyses and some managerial insights are given.
