Abstract Objective: The objective of this study was to profile patients who undergo defecography, by age and gender, as well as to describe the main imaging and diagnostic findings in this population. Materials and Methods: This was a retrospective, descriptive study of 39 patients, conducted between January 2012 and February 2014. The patients were evaluated in terms of age, gender, and diagnosis. They were stratified by age, and continuous variables are expressed as mean ± standard deviation. All possible quantitative defecography variables were evaluated, including rectal evacuation, perineal descent, and measures of the anal canal. Results: The majority (95%) of the patients were female. Patient ages ranged from 18 to 82 years (mean age, 52 ± 13 years): 10 patients were under 40 years of age; 18 were between 40 and 60 years of age; and 11 were over 60 years of age. All 39 of the patients evaluated had abnormal radiological findings. The most prevalent diagnoses were rectocele (in 77%) and enterocele (in 38%). Less prevalent diagnoses were vaginal prolapse, uterine prolapse, and Meckel's diverticulum (in 2%, for all). Conclusion: Although defecography is performed more often in women, both genders can benefit from the test. Defecography can be performed in order to detect complex disorders such as uterine and rectal prolapse, as well as to detect basic clinical conditions such as rectocele or enterocele.

Family caregivers are vital to telehealth-delivered dementia care. The objective of this mixed methods descriptive study conducted in the VA Bedford Healthcare System was to examine caregiver satisfaction with a video telehealth dementia home safety occupational therapy evaluation. Ten caregivers of Veterans with dementia participated. Ratings of caregiver satisfaction, measured by nine Likert scale items including ability to see and hear, were examined in relation to person and visit-related contextual factors extracted from RA field notes, to develop an in-depth understanding of caregiver experience. Person factors included caregiver age and gender and Veteran cognitive status. Visit-related contextual factors included occurrence  of technical glitches. Caregiver visit satisfaction was overall positive, with exceptions related to technological glitches and the presence of the person with dementia during the visit. Veteran cognitive status appeared to influence caregiver satisfaction. Implications of the study are that proactively addressing technical glitches and incorporating dementia stage-specific approaches may optimize caregivers’ telehealth experience.

The SARS-COV2 Pandemic has required the emergency departments to focus their attention and care to COVID-19-diagnosed patients over patients with other pathologies. Descriptive study of patients attended in the resuscitation room between 1st of March and 31st May 2019 and compared to the same period in 2020. We include all the patients attended were included in the study and their clinical variables evaluated and their diagnosis at discharge. Six hundred and fifty-nine patients were attended in 2019 and 384 in 2020. There were no differences between age and gender. In 2019, 83.2% of the cases attended had a cardiac pathology, followed by neurological pathology and traffic accidents. This data is also significant since in the same period of 2020 cardiac pathology fell to 8.3%. The COVID pandemic has reduced patients attended at resuscitation room, and especially cardiovascular ones. These are preliminary results and more studies should be done to confirm or to study this trend.

Objective: To explore the influence of internet on the school going children. Methods: A descriptive study was conducted with the help of questionnaire administered on the parents of children exposed to internet and are going to school in Navi Mumbai between ages of 6-12 years. The sample size for the study is 502.The statistical analysis was carried by means, standard deviation, t-test and Chi-Square. Results: The study identified that the three most important reasons for browsing the internet are identified (need) as due to Status Symbol, due to peer pressure and because family members are busy. It is also revealed that school assignment is least important reasons for browsing internet. The results showed that internet has influenced the children more on development as compared to behaviour and learning. Conclusions: This study brings to limelight some important reason of the children using internet and their usage pattern. This research attempts to further study the effect of various demographic factors age and gender on the reason of the children using internet. It is found that internet has influenced the children development.

Background: Helicobacter pylori plays an important role in management of dyspepsia, as well as being a known carcinogenic risk factor. It is ubiquitously present in community to the extent of 50-80% in different studies depending upon the sampling from an urban area or a rural area, as well as socio-economic factors, as also the fact it is a risk factor for carcinoma in elderly age group and Peptic ulcer disease in relatively younger population. The study aimed at studying demographic profile in terms of the age and gender of patients, ascertaining its correlation with H. pylori. Methods: This is a retrospective descriptive study based on the upper GI endoscopies carried out in the institution. The period covered was from 01 January 2018 to 31 December 2018. The inclusion and exclusion criteria were well defined. Statistical analysis was carried out using SPSS Version 16.0 Chi-Square was applied. Results: This is a retrospective descriptive study based on the upper GI endoscopies carried out in the institution. Tumors were evaluated according to the type and site , age and gender of the patient. The tumors are classified by WHO classification. Data collected was analyzed using SPSS Version 21 for statistical analysis. Results:  45 skin adnexal tumors were studied in which, 40 (88.9%) were benign and 5 (11.1%) were malignant. Conclusion: Skin adnexal tumors are comparatively uncommon lesions. Benign neoplasms are more frequent than malignant.

ON NOVEMBER 2019, a new Corona virus pneumonia had just taken roots. It happened as a result of interspecies transmission COVID-19 from a mammalian species, likely a bat, to humans. This virus was first found in clusters in Wuhan, China after which it spread all over the world at a very fast pace having worldwide humanitarian and economic repercussions. HRCT has become the mainstay of radiological investigations in this pandemic and often showed diagnostic accuracy before the onset of clinical manifestations. Few studies have tried to establish a correlation between the outcome of COVID 19 and gender. Studies found that the severity of the illness was more and clearance of SARS-CoV-2 virus was less in males as compared to females.1 Hence it is of utmost importance to study the pattern of lung involvement on HRCT in female patients to aid the researchers and clinicians in further understanding of the etiopathogenesis.  Thus this study was conducted to look for specific and also unusual patterns of radiological findings of COVID-19 pneumonia in females if any.
