This study sought to identify to what extent metacognition has an effect on perceived success, mediated by the entrepreneurial profile. The sample we analyzed involved 194 alumni from Business Administration, Accounting, and Economics programs from public and private higher education institutions in the state of Sergipe. The procedures involved the use of structural equation modeling and the results indicated that goal orientation has a significant direct and indirect relationship with perceived success. Metacognitive knowledge and metacognitive experience have significant indirect relationships with perceived success, and this relationship takes place with the "self-realization" and "leader" dimensions of the entrepreneurial profile. As this study's contribution, we identified metacognitive characteristics that can be improved to enhance the perception of success, such as: frequently defining goals, understanding the relationship between tasks and goals, setting specific goals, frequently evaluating a task's progress, selecting the best option for problem solving, using assertive strategies in the past, gaining prior knowledge regarding a task, breaking problems into small parts, thinking before performing a task, using different strategies, organizing time and information, selecting important information, and using intuition to formulate strategies.

The objective of this research is to find out a direct and an indirect relationship between motivation, organisational commitment, and lecturers competence and job satisfaction and lecturers performance. This was non-experimental research using a quantitative approach with ex-post facto designs. Hypotheses of this research aim to prove the relationship between variables. The data were collected by using questionnaire distributed to the randomly-chosen respondents and analyzed using Partial Least Square-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) method. The conclusion of the modeling analysis result of these five variables are: (1) lecturers motivation has not a direct relationship with lecturers performance; (2) lecturers commitment has an indirect relationship with lecturers performance; (3) both exogenous variables (lecturers motivation and commitment) need intervening variable (job satisfaction) to be proven to be related to the lecturers performance; and (4) it is only lecturers competence variable having a direct relationship with lecturers performance even though without passing through mediation and lecturers job satisfaction variable.

This study is an attempt to understand the relationship between narcissism and job satisfaction in the context of teachers in a university set-up. Previous research has considered narcissism as a personality disorder and considers it unhealthy for organizations and individuals. In order to understand the construct of narcissism, and how it impacts on job satisfaction, 560 university teachers out of which187 females and 373 males were chosen from public and private higher educational institutions of India. The data was collected by administering a standardized questionnaire and the results were analyzed using structural equation modeling. The findings of the study suggest that extreme narcissism and healthy narcissism lead to a significant increase in job satisfaction.

This study uses structural equation modeling to determine whether there are direct and indirect relationships between childhood trauma and recidivism for 230 women from two state prisons in North Carolina. The researchers obtained a random sample from all women scheduled to be released between 30 and 120 days from data collection. Findings indicated that childhood trauma was not significantly related to recidivism for this sample, but there was an indirect relationship with depression being the intervening variable accounting for the relationship between childhood trauma and recidivism. Results lend support to the importance of addressing incarcerated women’s trauma before release, while also assessing for depression and using empirically supported interventions to treat depression when applicable.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to advance understanding of the mentor factors that promotes mentoring outcomes. This was done by investigating the role of mentors’ learning goal orientation (LGO), their learning activity such as reflection, the perceived relationship quality in relation to the mentoring functions received by protégés, and the furtherance of their socialization in a formal mentoring relationship. Design/methodology/approach In total, 131 matched mentor-protégé dyads were recruited from three different organizations in Korea, for the final analysis. Structural equation modeling and Hayes's PROCESS macro were used to test the proposed model and the moderating effect of perceived relationship quality. Findings Results show that mentors’ LGO was positively related to their reflection. Additionally, mentors’ reflection was positively associated with mentoring functions received by protégés. Further, mentoring functions received by protégés were positively related to protégés’ socialization. In particular, mentors’ reflection mediates the relationship between mentors’ LGO and mentoring functions received by protégés. Moreover, perceived relationship quality moderates the relationship between mentors’ LGO and their reflection. Originality/value Even though mentoring research is well advanced, not many researches have yet investigated mentors’ LGO and their learning activity such as reflection, in relation to mentoring functions received by protégés and their socialization.

The work aims to achieve a better understanding of firms’ green strategy, and specifically, in the false green strategy called greenwashing, and the relationships between greenwashing (GW) and behaviour intention (BI), and how this relationship is affected by word of mouth (WOM) and corporative social responsability (CRS). A survey was conducted and 198 valid and complete online questionnaires were collected from users of urban mobility apps (Blablacar and Amovens) in Spain. The structural equation modeling technique partial least squares (PLS-SEM) was used to test the proposed research model and hypothesized relationships. The results of our study indicate that the direct relationship between GW and BI is not supported, although the indirect relationship through WOM and CRS is significant, so that both become mediating variables of the GW and BI relationship. The paper also analyzes the direct relationships between GW, CRS, WOM and BI, so that the direct effects GW and CRS; CRS and WOM; and WOM and BI are significant. This empirical study analyzes the effect of GW, which has not been studied much, especially in empirical research. The study analyzes several variable consequences of GW and analyzes mediating effects of CRS and WOM on the GW and BI relationship. The study also includes two behavioral indicators, WOM and BI, in a research model, and, additionally, the study demonstrates the relationship between GW and perceived CRS.

PurposeIndividuals often look up to external influencers (leaders) that determine their conduct and form their perception regarding organizational policies and practices which constitute their organizational climate. The importance of organizational climate has been realized off late in various job outcomes among doctors, such as commitment, turnover, etc. Therefore this study aims to investigate the relationship of ethical leadership with organizational climate that may further affect the commitment of doctors in Indian hospitals.Design/methodology/approachAn empirical study has been done in 10 public and private Indian hospitals using a questionnaire survey. Data were collected from a sample of 537 doctors, which were further analyzed statistically using structural equation modeling (SEM) through AMOS and SPSS software.FindingsThe results show a significant influence of ethical leadership on organizational climate and organizational climate further has significant relationship with commitment of doctors in Indian hospitals.Practical implicationsThe study has important implication for hospital administration, to identify and place an ethical leadership team at the top, which will further influence the behavior of the followers (doctors). This will further lead to formation of favorable organizational climate fostering commitment in doctors.Originality/valueThis is one of the few studies that determines the relationship of ethical leadership with organizational climate and it's further influence on commitment of doctors in large (500 beds and above) public and private hospitals in Indian context.

Purpose: - The purpose of this research paper is to test the relationship with God and to know the strength among the variables of love - Intimacy, Passion and Commitment, through Triangular Love Scale (TLS). To study the direct and indirect relationship between variables of Love in context with God and to know the mediation effect of Passion between the two variables of love, namely, Intimacy and Commitment. Research Design: - In this study, data was collected through well structured questionnaire from 210 respondents who identified themselves as God-believers. The Partial Least Square (PLS) -Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) was used to measure the relationship among the variables and to conceptualize the model. Findings:- In context of the past studies, a conceptual model is developed to measure the direct relationship as well as indirect relationship among the three variables of love, namely, Intimacy, Passion and Commitment in relationship with God. Structural Equation Modeling analyses revealed that the association between Intimacy and Commitment is mediated by Passion. Limitations:- Other tools can also be used to analyse the same study to know relationship between variables of love with God. Different variables which are not explored can be used to test the relationship with God.Practical Implications:- This study makes significant contributions for religious leaders and researchers who associate themselves with spirituality in order to understand the strength of relationship with God by knowing the impact on variables of love-Intimacy, Passion and Commitment.Originality: - The current study aims to know the strength of relationship with God through the three variables of love, namely, Intimacy, Passion and Commitment. There are lots of studies on Triangular Love Scale in knowing the different perspectives. The results of this study will help to know in actuality as to how much the individual is close to God, attracted towards him and able to maintain his love towards him.

We investigated the relationship between salespersons' internal service quality and turnover intention through the mediators of their job involvement and sales performance. To that end, we distributed surveys to salespersons in Korea and used structural equation modeling to examine the hypotheses. The results of this study were as follows: First, internal service quality had a significant and direct impact on salespersons' job involvement and sales performance, and also their turnover intention. Second, job involvement mediated the relationship between internal service quality and turnover intention. Third, internal service quality had a significant indirect effect on sales performance through the mediator of job involvement. Fourth, in a 2-stage mediation model internal service quality had a significant indirect relationship with turnover intention through the mediators of job involvement and then sales performance. Theoretical and practical implications are discussed for marketing management research.

The aim of this paper is to link envy at the workplace to social loafing and to examine the role of self-esteem in moderating this relationship. Data was collected via a survey questionnaire from 393 employees working in public and private organizations in Malaysia. Partial least squares-structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) was used to test the hypotheses. The results show that the higher the degree of workplace envy encountered, the higher the inclination for members to exert less effort while working in a team (social loafing), and this relationship is moderated by self-esteem. In addition, it is found that the relationship is better for low self-esteem workers relative to those high in self-esteem. In terms of workplace envy and avoidance of social loafing, the research provides important implications. Organizations should etablish a supportive workplace that encourages employees to be more involved and practice openness and give continued support. In a team culture especially, managers must play an active role by paying attention and being more sensitive towards circumstances that induce feelings of envy at work. By implementing a proper system and control, tendency towards workplace envy and social loafing can be mimimized.

Mental health problems are frequent obstacles in medical students’ careers as doctors. Given that previous studies overlook the mediation of stress perception, the current study expanded previous goal orientation researches by addressing an unexplored mechanism. This study aims to examine the mediational roles of stress perception (perceived stressors and stress-related cognition) on the relationship between achievement goal orientation and depression in medical students. A total of 1,015 Chinese 2-year medical students completed a multi-section questionnaire. Hypotheses were examined by structural equation modeling. The findings suggest that performance-avoidance goal orientation and perceived stressors both demonstrated direct facilitative effects on depression, whereas stress-related cognition demonstrated direct obstructive effects on depression. Both perceived stressors and stress-related cognition mediated the relationship between achievement goal orientation and depression. The findings spark a new perspective on motivational intervention that assist students in adopting mastery-approaching strategy as well as ways of coping with stressful academic situations. Identifying students with achievement goal orientation and providing them with the appropriate supportive services may help them to manage stress and mitigate or prevent depression.
