The present study is employed to understand the relationship between self esteemand reading ability of Indonesian EFL students. The study was conducted on bothIndonesian male and female graduate students of English department in aPostgraduate school in Bandung. During the research, questionnaire developed byHyde (1979 in Bagheri, et al., 2012) was used as the research instrument to obtainthe score of students‟ self esteem. In addition, the data of reading score werecollected from TOEFL score which has been standardized. Those instrumentswere administered in one session. The data were analyzed by Pearson momentcorrelation to identify the relationship between two variables. The result of thisstudy showed that the null hypothesis of this study is rejected. Sincetheprobability value of students‟ self esteem is lower than the level of significant(.697>0.05). It indicates that there is a correlation between self esteemandstudents‟ reading ability. Keywords: Self-Esteem , reading Ability

Depression has become one of the alarming crises in today’s fast paced society. Person suffering from depression can overcome from spiritual point of view. Spirituality is the need for findings satisfactory answers to ultimate questions about the meaning of life, illness and death. This research study investigated the relationship between spiritual experiences and depression among male and female post graduate students, to compare males and females on depression scores and to compare males and females on spiritual experiences. This study finds that that there is no significant correlation found between daily life experiences and depression among post graduate students. It was also found that female scores higher on depression as well as on spirituality.

The study was conducted to determine the relationship between abstract intelligence of graduate students in relation to their risk taking behaviour. The participants were 600 degree college students of Haryana state studying in different streams viz. Art, Science, Commerce, Pharmacy and Education. Cattell and Cattell Culture Fair (Free) intelligence Scale by Kapoor, Rao and Singh. {Scale III(CFIS-III)} for measuring abstract intelligence and Risk Taking Questionnaire (RTQ) by V.N.Sinha and P.N.Arora were used for the study. Mean, Standard Deviation and ‘z’ test were used for compare the values among different groups. The result of the study shows that the male students were significantly differ in abstract intelligence than the female students studying at graduate level while the male and female students studying in professional courses at graduate level does not differ in abstract intelligence whereas male male students were significantly differ in abstract intelligence than the female students studying in non professional courses at graduate level

The study was conducted to determine the relationship between parental encouragement of graduate students in relation to their risk taking behaviour. The participants were 600 degree college students of Haryana state studying in different streams viz. Art, Science, Commerce, Pharmacy and Education. Parental encouragement scale by Kusum Agrawal and Risk Taking Questionnaire (RTQ) by V.N.Sinha and P.N.Arora were used for the study. Mean, Standard Deviation and ‘z’ test were used for compare the values among different groups. The result of the study shows that the female students were significantly differ in parental encouragement than the male students studying at graduate level while the male and female students studying in professional and non professional courses at graduate level does not differ in parental encouragement.

We examined the relationship between texture responses (T) on the Rorschach and adult attachment in the Japanese population. 47 Japanese undergraduate and graduate students (mean age = 20.16, SD = 1.87) completed a self-report adult attachment scale as well as the Rorschach. An ANOVA revealed that T = 1 participants were attached more securely than were other groups. T > 1 participants were more preoccupied with attachment and scored higher on an attachment anxiety scale than the T = 1 group. Although these results were consistent with the interpretation of the texture response according to the Comprehensive System (CS), the results obtained for T = 0 participants were inconsistent with hypotheses derived from the CS. T = 0 participants were high on preoccupied and attachment anxiety scores, although they were theoretically expected to be high on dismissing or attachment avoidance. These results indicated that – at least in Japan – T should be regarded as a sensitive measure of attachment anxiety.

Abstract A planetarium imitates a starry sky with physical and technical limitations using a dome, projector, and light source. It is widely used for entertainment, and astronomy and physics educations. In our previous study, we investigated the evaluation for faithful reproduction of a star field in a planetarium by performing psychometric experiments with 20 observers for plural projection patterns with different reproduction factors (color, luminance, and size of projected stars). In this study, we investigate the relationship between faithfulness and preference of a star field in a planetarium through a psychometric experiment with 47 observers. The experimental procedure followed the previous study. The rating of faithfulness improved for the projection pattern with a smaller star size. For the preference evaluation, the projection pattern with low luminance significantly lowered the preference rating. The results of the experiment indicate that the preferable star reproduction was different between male and female observers, whereas the faithful star reproduction was not significantly different in the evaluations between male and female observers. The male observers sought a faithful star reproduction as the preferred reproduction. In contrast, the female observers did not feel the faithful star reproduction preferable, and evaluated the more brilliant star reproduction as the preferred reproduction. These results were not dependent on the experience in astronomical observations.
