The present study has sought to contribute to the growing knowledge base pertaining to the increasing trend in the high employee turnover rate in Malaysia’s manufacturing industry and challenges faced by organisations in retaining talented workforce arising from the job satisfaction issue. In such a perspective, this study examines the association of organisational culture and organisational commitment with job satisfaction. Insufficient research is available on these associations within the context of the Malaysian vegetable oil processing sector; thus, this study has aimed to add new knowledge to the existing literature. A quantitative research approach, namely a cross-sectional survey, was utilised to gather data from the sample population who were employed in vegetable oil processing factories in Pasir Gudang, Johor. The participants were chosen via the simple random sampling approach. Pearson correlation and linear regression analysis methods were utilised to analyse the associations among the variables. The highest correlation was revealed between adhocracy culture and normative commitment. Regression analysis findings demonstrated a positive significant association between all dimension’s variables of organisational culture and organisational commitment on job satisfaction. Overall, the study has provided comprehensive insights for the vegetable oil processing organisations to review the culture in their company that could enhance organisational members’ commitment and job satisfaction.

Job satisfaction is the major concern of employees and managers, which is an emotional reflection of employees at work and plays an important role in increasing job performance. If the job satisfaction of employees is lower than their expectation, they will reduce attendance with lower performance and even quit the job, which is the last thing that the managers expected. In addition, employees usually are unsatisfied when they involve a few parts of the job, or when they work overload with high work stress and feel uncomfortable to get along with their co-workers or supervisors at the workplace. Therefore, it is necessary to acknowledge the satisfaction of employees, when more than half of the Chinese workers were unsatisfied with their job. According to Herzberg’s two factors theory, factors that influence employees’ job satisfaction can be separated into two parts, hygiene factors, and satisfier factors, and they can be divided into many factors as well, such as job involvement, employment relationship and so on. While this study introduced three factors (job involvement, work stress, and employment relationship) that influence job satisfaction with previous studies and fundamental knowledge in Fujian Banking Industry, China. Furthermore, providing the research methodology of job satisfaction for future research.

Purpose- Focusing on private banking industry in Delhi (India), the study intent to identify the direct and indirect influence of select individual, internal (organizational) and external (environment) variables on retention of bank managers. Three retention models for banking industry with the said variables had been hypothesized and tested to find that most appropriate model. Design/Methodology/Approach - The required data of 301 lower and middle level managers was finalized using stratified random sampling. The managers examined for the study were with minimum two years of experience in the same bank. The study was conducted in two phases- (i) Significant determinants of retention were identified using multiple and hierarchical regression analysis, (ii) Involving only significant determinants three retention models were created and tested using Structural equation modelling (SEM). Findings- SEM result of best fit model suggests that perceived alternative employment opportunities, perceived organizations prestige, perceived competitiveness of pay, pay and benefits satisfaction, career advancement opportunities, work-life balance, and job satisfaction have significant effect on retention of managers and the result is consistent with regression analysis of the work. Moreover, final model showed retention acting as mediator between other variables and retention, though the indirect effect was found to be very weak. Practical Implications- The findings of the study will be serviceable for the banks want to keep those managers who had already spend a good amount of time in the bank. Originality/Value- Rather than including two or three predictors, the current work has considered determinants of retention from various dimensions. The study extended its area by making an effort to involve only those who retained in the organization for two years and can actually have an opinion on the matter or factors affecting their stay.

The current study aims to investigate the relationship between budgetary participation and job satisfaction, moderated by the personality variable, locus of control. The data is gathered via a questionnaire administered to 75 managers from Tunisian hotels. To test the hypothesis of this study, moderated regression analysis was performed. Our results in a developing country setting confirm the contingent aspect of budgetary participation and show that the locus of control moderates the budgetary participation effects on job satisfaction. Budgetary participation was found to have a positive effect on internal managers while having a negative effect on external managers. The results suggest that it is necessary for Tunisian hotels to focus on the broader context in which budgetary participation is used. This latter has two aspects: structural and behavioral. The success of budget participation certainly depends on the organizational setting in which it is used but also on the psychological willingness of actors involved to develop and succeed in such budgetary practice.

The objective of this study is to analyze the effect of budgetary participation on the performance of the officials of Regional Work Units (SKPD) with locus of control, job satisfaction, and relevant job information as mediating variables. The study was done on SKPD in Palu by survey using questionnaires. The sample consists of 40 people selected by using purposive sampling technique. Data were analyzed using multiple regressions and moderating regression analysis (MRA). The results show that budgetary participation significantly affects the performance of the SKPD in Palu. Locus of control (LoC) as a moderating variable does not strengthen the effect of budgetary participation on the performance of officials. Job satisfaction can mod-erate the effect of budgetary participation on the performance of officials. The results also reveal that relevant job information can moderate the performance of SKPD in Palu. Thus, this study proves that budgetary participation supported by job satisfac-tion and relevant job information can build the performance of SKPD in Palu.

Though extant literatures in other sectors indicate that job satisfaction and organizational commitment are important for determining individual and organisational outcomes, limited related research has been conducted amongst quantity surveyors in Hong Kong. Given cooperative working arrangement in the quantity surveying profession, work group identification is regarded as an important antecedent for determining job satisfaction and organisational commitment. The aim of this study is to examine whether work group identification improves job satisfaction and organisational commitment. A questionnaire survey is conducted to collect data from quantity surveyors working in private sector. A total of 71 valid responses are obtained from 509 contacted quantity surveyors in Hong Kong. Bivariate correlation and multiple regression analyses are performed to find the significance of relationships among the variables. Data analysis results support most hypotheses. Work group identification is found to have significant positive effect on job satisfaction, affective and normative commitment. The finding is a bold step for quantity surveying companies to improve their quantity surveyors’job satisfaction and commitment level. The role of other contextual and organisational factors on job satisfaction and organisational commitment needs to be complemented for future research.
