Thermoplastic elastomers (TPEs) have elastic properties that are similar to rubber but capable of melting and all thermoplastic properties. Block copolymers are also widely used, in which there are links of different polymers in the structure of their macromolecules. So styrene-ethylene-butylene- styrene (SEBS) belongs to the second generation, the products of which have high physical and mechanical properties, and biocompatibility allows it to be used in the medical field. The main characteristics and analysis of advantages of TPE on the example of SBSS in comparison with traditional materials are presented in the paper.

The physical and mechanical properties and microstructure of Q2loess are of great theoretical and practical significance. Through studying these properties which Q2loess samples are taken in the Xi'an city of Lin-tong District of Mount Li, the results show that: (1)Natural water content, wet density, liquid and solid index, shear strength, collapsible coefficient compressive modulus; (2)By means of the scanning electron microscope to study the picture of the loess micro-structure, there are some preliminary understanding of micro-structure’s basic characteristics; (3)Using scanning electron microscopy techniques to observe the loess micro-structure, As the performance of the loess micro-structure’s basic unit-body and its arrangement form, the loess micro-structure is the reflection of its physical and mechanical properties, Meanwhile the change of physical and mechanical properties also show the unstability of the loess micro-structure.

The article describes a method of solving the problem of designing the friction surfaces withcomposite coatings. Despite the fact that many scientists have investigated the effect of coatings on theproperties of the items during the exploitation, however, has not yet been carried out a detailed study ofelastoplastic properties of the coating to the copper-containing material with different concentrations ofultrafine additions of copper, nickel, molybdenum disulfide. Elastoplastic properties of such materials isusually described by the relations of the deformation theory of plasticity. It is proved that the modeling of physical and mechanical properties, and varying the coatingcomposition can achieve a favorable combination of properties of the surface and the substrate. Proposed ofdesigning friction surface with composite coating, development an adequate model of the interaction ofsurfaces, which makes it possible to judge which components need to enter into the coating to obtain thedesired properties.

A study of the flame-retardant (FR) properties, the degree of expansion (DE) and the strength properties of thermally expanding sealing tapes (TST) based on polyolefin thermoplastic elastomers is presented. Experimental TST based on ethylene vinyl acetate rubber (БК-E), and a semi-crystalline copolymer of ethylene and propylene (БК-V) with additives of oxidized graphite (OG) were obtained on laboratory equipment. DE, categories of FR and strength properties of БК-E and БК-V differ slightly. The morphology of the char foams of the obtained compositions was determined. Based on the summary of the results it was found that the composition of БК-E has a better FR in comparison with БК-V. It is estimated that this is primarily due to the nature of the polymer matrix of the compositions, as well as the distribution of components in it, in particular, OG, and their interaction with each other during the combustion process. It is shown that the properties of the developed TST are at the level of the existing ones. A further series of research is expected.

Copolymers and block-copolymers of ε-caprolactam, α-angelicalactone and polyangelicalactone were first synthesized by the anionic polymerization method. Yields of polymers and rates of their formation decrease with increasing the α-angelicalactone and polyangelicalactone concentration. Physical and mechanical properties of the obtained copolymers are very close to the properties of polycaprolactam. The synthesized block-copolymers are biodegradable in the grey forest soil, and they are completely visually destroyed during 20 weeks. The water extracts of the biodegradation products are nontoxic

Timber Acacia mangium (Acacia mangium, Willd) for Furniture. The study aims to determine the mechanical and physical properties and the decorative value (color and fiber) wood of acacia mangium with using finishing materials. This type of finishing material used is ultran lasur natural dof ,ultran lasur classic teak, aqua politur clear dof, aqua politur akasia dan aqua politur cherry. After finishing the wood is stored for 3 months. Test parameters were observed, namely, physical and mechanical properties of wood, adhesion of finishing materials, color and appearance of the fiber, and timber dimensions expansion. The results showed that the mechanical physical properties of acacia wood qualified SNI. 01-0608-89 about the physical and mechanical properties of wood for furniture, air dry the moisture content from 13.78 to 14.89%, flexural strength from 509.25 to 680.50 kg/cm2, and compressive strength parallel to fiber 342.1 - 412.9 kg/cm2. Finishing the treatment process using five types of finishing materials can increase the decorative value (color and fiber) wood. Before finishing the process of acacia mangium wood has the appearance of colors and fibers and less attractive (scale scores 2-3), after finishing acacia wood fibers have the appearance of colors and interesting and very interesting (scale 4-5).Keywords: mangium wood, mechanical properties, decorative value, finishing, furniture.
