In Russian society, more preciseattention is paid to the problems of vocational guidance, training, employment of young people with severe mental disabilities. This article reveals the problems of professional orientation of young people with severe mental development disorders. The specialists of the Center for Social Adaptation and Professional Training of Young People with Autism Spectrum Disorders with Mental Disabilities at Technological College No. 21 in Moscow for a long time deal with professional orientation and education of people with severe mental disorders. The Center for Social Adaptation and Professional Training for Young People with Autism Spectrum Disorders with Pronounced Mental Disabilities Technological College No. 21 in Moscow is working on vocational guidance and training. The work demonstrates the importance of the process of vocational guidance for people with severe developmental disorders, Also article reveals certain difficulties in solving this problem. Two large groups of problems are distinguished - external and internal: social problems that impede the ability of young people with severe mental disabilities to choose a profession, and problems associated with the organization of career guidance activities themselves. It is noted that new opportunities for career guidance are currently opening up, as specialists shift the focus from the limitations of young people to their advantages and opportunities.

Paper presents comprehension of the process of professional skills learning in young people with severe complex developmental disorders, including autism spectrum disorders. Unity of the process of self-consciousness development and formation of professional motivation is revealed through the mechanism of shifting the motive to the goal. Author shows the realization of this consolidated process in the conditions of a creative craft workshop, based on her work as a psychologist in the Center of social adaptation and professional training, Technological college № 21. The case from the work in a sewing and weaving workshop described.

The paper analyses the application of virtual reality technologies to career guidance of children and adolescents with autism spectrum disorders (ASD). An overview of studies using virtual reality technologies conducted with children and adolescents with ASD, including diagnosis and teaching of schoolchildren with autism spectrum disorders, is made. The authors follow “The Theory of Central Coherence” by U. Frith, realizing symptoms of autism spectrum disorders not as disorders but as peculiar features and a special cognitive style. The study describes the features of vocational guidance of ASD individuals on the basis of the sources about the difficulties of people with ASD in the transition from school to secondary and higher education. The authors’ project of a complex vocational guidance using virtual reality technology for students with ASD introducing “a city-farmer” profession is represented. The tripartite structure of the vocational guidance complex is showed, the need for interaction of specialists with the parents of a child with ASD, as well as identification of “savant skills” at the first stage of career guidance work was emphasized. Examples of virtual spaces developed by one of the authors are given, with which people with ASD interact by the determination their possible professional trajectory. The tasks and responses of users in the vocational guidance complex for schoolchildren are described. A conclusion about the possibility of expanding the list of professions in the vocational guidance simulator for children with ASD is made.

Primary school pupils with moderate and severe mental disabilities characterized by slow and peculiar development of cognitive processes, lack of will, interest and motivation, which makes it difficult to acquire social skills. Often, pupils with mental disabilities also experience autism spectrum disorders characterized by stereotypical behavior, lack of language communication and socialization. Considering the peculiarities of the development of pupils with moderate and severe mental disability and autism spectrum disorders, communication and socialization skills, as well as traffic accident statistics, the social skills of primary school pupils to adhere to the rules of safe behavior on the street and in public transport are becoming more important. There is a question - how to stimulate, interest students with moderate and severe mental disability and autism spectrum disorders in a more effective way in promoting the development of this social skill in a special boarding school environment based on the individual needs of students. The aim of the research is theoretically explore the possibilities of developing social skills for primary school pupils with moderate and severe mental disorders and autism spectrum disorders, to develop and test the importance of using interactive social photo stories in promoting social skills - safe behavior on the street.

Nowadays autism spectrum disorders (ASD) are on the list of most frequent childish disorders. It is characterized by communicational, behavioural, and emotional difficulties, unique manifestations of cognitive processes, lack of communicational initiative. ASD is a developmental disorder that occurs in early childhood, persists into adulthood, and affects three areas of development: communication, social partnership, and behavior. So, when the means of communication are incomplete or absent, the normal course of the child's development is being disrupted, social adaptation becomes impossible. For the effective organization of speech therapy intervention of children, it is necessary to start child`s rehabilitation work as   possible of the child's development: The author's long time professional experience (15 years) in working with these children indicates that one of the keys to the best effectiveness of communication and speech development is early intervention, which can be organized only after the early detection and diagnosis of children with ASD. One of the prerequisites for early diagnosis is to ensure the continuity of the awareness process among parents, which is the main goal of our article.
