An importance of creating of efficacious information systems, which would enhance learning outcomes, leads to development of appropriate models.Modelling process with further validation and verification of developed information system or technological solution is essential. This paper displays the considerations and efforts made to work out such model in a form of reflection stimulating and learning outcomes enhancing ePortfolio information system. The authors introduce architecture of developed system from a view of used technologies, system’s algorithmic model and data model, as well its approbation results in Living Lab.

This article describes the method of integrating information systems of an aircraft factory with the production capacity planning system based on the ontology merging. The ontological representation is formed for each relational database (RDB) of integrated information systems. The ontological representation is formed in the process of analyzing the structure of the relational database of the information system (IS). Based on the ontological representations merging the integrating data model is formed. The integrating data model is a mechanism for semantic integration of data sources.

Nowadays almost every map is a component of the information system. Design and production of maps requires the use of specific rules for modeling information systems: conceptual, application and data modelling. While analyzing various stages of cartographic modeling the authors ask the question: at what stage of this process a map occurs. Can we say that the “life of the map” begins even before someone define its form of presentation? This question is particularly important at the time of exponentially increasing number of new geoinformation products. During the analysis of the theory of cartography and relations of the discipline to other fields of knowledge it has been attempted to define a few properties of cartographic modeling which distinguish the process from other methods of spatial modeling. Assuming that the map is a model of reality (created in the process of cartographic modeling supported by domain-modeling) the article proposes an analogy of the process of cartographic modeling to the scheme of conceptual modeling presented in ISO 19101 standard.

This chapter is devoted to developing formalization methods for identification and security objects of critical information infrastructure (CII) in civil aviation. The analysis of modern approaches to the CII identification was carried out that gave a possibility to determine weaknesses and to formalize a scientific researches task. As a result, the unified data model was developed for formalizing the process of a list of CII objects forming in certain field and at the state level. Moreover, the specialized technique was developed. Besides, the identification method was proposed, and it gives a possibility to determine elements of CII field, mutual influences, and influence on functional operations of critical aviation information system. Furthermore, special software was developed and implemented that can be useful for CII elements identification and also for determining its influences on functional operations. Also, the basic aspects of cybersecurity ensuring for identified critical aviation information system were described in this chapter.

Data held in information systems is modelled using a variety of languages, where the choice of language may be decided by functional concerns as well as non-technical concerns. This chapter focuses on data modelling languages, and the challenges faced in mapping schemas in one data modelling language into another data modelling language. We review the ER, relational and UML modelling languages (the later being representative of object oriented programming languages), highlighting aspects of each modelling language that are not representable in the others. We describe how a nested hypergraph data model may be used as an underlying representation of data models, and hence present the differences between the modelling languages in a more precise manner. Finally, we propose a platform for the future building of an automated procedure for translating schemas from one modelling language to another.

The problem of construction of modern information systems in education branch is actual in modern conditions of informatization of society. In the article one of aspects of construction of such systems, as the analysis of requirements to information supply of information systems and construction of conceptual data model of information system planning of scientific researches in Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine on the Internet basis» (further – IS "Planning") on the basis of the spent analysis is considered. Article materials reflect results of research which was conducted within the frames of research work «Scientifically-methodical maintenance of information system of planning of scientific researches in Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine on the Internet basis», № 0109U002139.

End users and consumers of halal industry are facing difficulties in finding verified halal information. This occurred due to information that is stored in silos at every point of activity for every process chain, employing different structures and models, creating an issue of information verification. Integration of multiple information systems generally aims at combining selected systems so that information can be easily retrieved and manage by users. A proposed five components metadata representation development methodology is presented in this paper so that they form a unified new whole and give users the illusion of interacting with one single information system, therefore, data can be represented using the same abstraction principles (unified global data model and unified semantics) without any physical restructuring.

Financial information system is an information system that provides information to individuals or groups of people, both inside and outside the company that contains financial problems and information about the flow of money for users in the company. Financial information systems are used to solve financial problems in a company, by meeting three financial principles: fast, safe, and inexpensive.Quick principle, the intention is that financial information systems must be able to provide the required data on time and can meet the needs. The Safe Principle means that the financial information system must be prepared with consideration of internal controls so that company assets are maintained. The Principle of Inexpensive, the intention is that the cost of implementing a financial information system must be reduced so that it is relatively inexpensive. Therefore we need technology media that can solve financial problems, and produce financial information to related parties quickly, safely and cheaply. One example of developing information technology today is computer technology and internet. Starting from financial problems and technological advances, the authors make a website-based financial management application to facilitate the parties that perform financial management and supervision.Method of development application program is used Waterfall method, with the following stages: Software Requirement Analysis, Software Design, Program Code Making, Testing, Support, Maintenance.

The distinctive quality of the new social structure is that information becomes the only factor of production. In today's organizations, public administrators are directly responsible for applying information to administrative processes. In addition to his managerial responsibilities, a knowledge based organization requires every employee to take responsibility for achieving efficiency. This has increased the importance of information systems in the decision-making process. Information systems consist of computer and communication technology, data base management and model management and include activity processing system, management information system, decision support systems, senior management information system, expert systems and office automation systems. Information systems in the health sector aim at the management and provision of preventive and curative health services. The use of information systems in healthcare has the benefits of increasing service quality, shortening treatment processes, maximizing efficiency of the time, labour and medical devices. The use of information systems for clinical decision making and reducing medical errors in the healthcare industry dates back to the 1960s. Clinical information systems involve processing, storing and re-accessing information that supports patient care in a hospital. Clinical information systems are systems that are directly or indirectly related to patient care. These systems include electronic health/patient records, clinical decision support systems, nurse information systems, patient tracking systems, tele-medicine, case mix and smart card applications. Diagnosis-treatment systems are information-based systems used in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases. It consists of laboratory information systems, picture archiving and communication system, pharmacy information system, radiology information system, nuclear medicine information system. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of health information system applications in Turkey. The first part of the study focuses on the concept of information systems and the types of information systems in organization structures. In the second part, clinical information systems and applications for diagnosis-treatment systems in Turkey are examined. Finally, the study evaluates applications in the health sector qualitatively from the new organizational structure, which is formed by information systems.
