We present the results of educational and methodical work during the implementation of activities on the issues of teaching Russian in a multi-ethnic environment in the Republic of Dagestan. The issues of identifying intercultural competence as a result and criterion of the education quality in a multi-ethnic educational process are considered. We also define the need for expanding the linguodidactic base for the intercultural competence development in teaching Russian through the inclusion of teaching materials with the national and cultural component. The specific practical examples (use of interactive educational technologies: the method of projects, case-study, web-quest) demonstrate ways of organizing educational activities aimed at the development of in-tercultural competence. The relevance of this study is confirmed by the presence of contradictions between the needs of modern society in effective intercultural interaction, highly qualified teach-ing staff, the requirements of regulatory documents and the insufficient level of potential use in the process of learning Russian in a multi-ethnic audience. Particular attention is paid to the methods of demonstrating students’ own national identity in a multi-ethnic environment and presenting native culture through the Russian language, issues of improving the professional competence of Russian teachers required for teaching in a multilingual environment and defining intercultural competence.

Introduction. In the process of bilingual education, schoolchildren must not only qualitatively master the content of the subject but also overcome language difficulties. There is a connection between speech and mathematical activities. The essence and structure of bilingual mathematical competence are based on this relationship, allowing bilingual students to effectively acquire knowledge in the conditions of national-Russian bilingualism. We have also proposed ways of forming bilingual mathematical competence focused on developing mathematical speech culture and teaching schoolchildren to use multicultural knowledge. Aim. The article aims to characterize the pedagogical conditions directed at the emergence of bilingual mathematical competence among basic school students (grades 5 to 9) within national-Russian bilingualism. Material and methods. The study relies on theoretical methods of comparative analysis, synthesis, and generalization provided by the scientific and methodological literature on the researched topic. Results and discussion. Works indicating a clear relationship between the language of instruction and the subject of Mathematics were analyzed. The need to take into account the mother tongue of schoolchildren in bilingual education was established. In addition, it was found that the degree of native and Russian language proficiency affects the mathematics achievement of bilingual students. According to the analysis, bilingual education should lead to the emergence of competencies distinguished by a high level of language proficiency and high-quality mastering of the subject. Conclusion. The concept of “bilingual mathematical competence” got a detailed description in the course of the research. This concept combines components of a school subject, languages ( native and Russian), and a component of intercultural communication. The following pedagogical components were described: 1) tasks aimed at mastering terminology, symbols, and graphic images; verbal and logical constructions of the mathematical language; written educational texts; 2) illustrated Yakut-Russian, Russian-Yakut terminological dictionary in mathematics for the 5th and 6th grades, which includes 349 terms and set phrases; 3) bilingual strategies aimed at reducing the linguistic complexity of mathematical problems (by replacing unfamiliar or rare words; changing the passive voice to active verb forms; reducing long names and indications; highlighting individual conditional sentences, or changing the order of the conditional and main sentences; replacing complex questions to simple ones; clarification of abstractions using more specific information); 4) methods and techniques of bilingual teaching of mathematics (consecutive translation, visual aids, immersion teaching, semantization); 5) tasks that contain historical, ethnocultural, and local history materials.

The article focuses on the system of developing linguistic and cultural competence through regional realities, values, personalities, etc. in general secondary educational institutions in the Republic of Belarus. The sociocultural aspect in the coherent linguistic methodological system of teaching Russian and developing learners’ speech is considered as a substantial component of all spheres - language, speech, communication, cultural linguistic study . Cultural linguistic (or linguocultural) aspect is realized through mastering language: 1) as a system of preserving and transmissing cultural values, 2) as a means of comprehending general and nationally-specific (for the Russian and Belarusian) ideals, traditions, customs, values and norms which guide the dialogue of cultures. As an interrelated educational process, the sociocultural aspect implies that students acquire the peculiarities of social relations expressed in meanings (peacefulness, non-aggressiveness, tendency to consent and search for compromises, helping another person, denying unmotivated violence, reasonable needs, etc.). The sociocultural aspect also means developing learners’ ability to comply with the norms that determine these relations.

The subject of this article research is the possibility of using video materials published on the Internet when teaching Russian. The authors pay attention to the fact that in the methodological literature there is a lot of experience with video when learning a foreign language, however, the use of these teaching materials in Russian language lessons is not systematic. The main objective of the teacher in working with video technologies is formulated in the article and it is a control of video perception. It is noted the great role of audiovisual training tools, not only for the formation of auditory competence, but also for the formation of cognitive and communicative ones. The authors of the article give practical recommendations on the integration of video lectures in the educational process at different stages of studying the educational material, including from the age features of schoolchildren on the example of two thematic projects "Videoblog on the subjects of the natural science cycle. Russian Language "and" Language is the Soul of the People ". In particular, authors note that it is advisable to offer video content for work to students who have developed basic skills of independent work. In the opinion of the authors, the use of video lessons at the stage of repetition and generalization of the studied material is especially effective. The article also demonstrates the possibility of using video lectures not only for working with school students in Russian language lessons, elective courses for choice and for holding class hours, but also for students of colleges and universities.
