In article the question of extent of adaptation of Standards of the decent salary in branch of agriculture as one of important instruments of increase in profitability of work in agriculture is considered. In order to solve this problem, the author analyses and carries out a comparative assessment of the content of Sectoral Labour Agreements with a view to reflecting in them social guarantees on decent remuneration of workers of the industry in a number of subjects of the Russian Federation. In addition, the article provides analytical material on the degree of practical implementation of social guarantees, as the basis of Decent Wage Standards, using statistical groupings of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation on a number of indicators. For example, by ratio. The minimum wage and subsistence minimum, as well as the average wage and subsistence minimum; Their dynamics by years are given. In addition, the author of the article believes that in order to gain a better understanding of the implementation of the Decent Wage Standards in the industry, it is necessary to study the practice of their application at the level of enterprises and organizations in order to assess the degree of implementation of social and legal guarantees when concluding collective agreements directly in organizations. This will be the next stage of the study on the adaptation of Decent Wage Standards.

The purpose of this paper is to examine the effect of minimum wage on the youth employment using panel technique in Iran’s manufacturing industries at the 4-digit aggregation level of ISIC classification, during 2001-2006. There is the controversy surrounding minimum wage because the effects of the introduction and increase of minimum wage may differ greatly depending on the labor market structure. In order to capture the effects which various un-observed labor supply and demand factors may have on the youth employment, The Kaitz Index (as the ratio of the minimum wage to the average wage) has been used in our analysis. The obtained results provide the small but positive effect of minimum wage on youth employment.

The application of regulatory mechanisms such as the minimum wage and the subsistence minimum for the reproduction of the labour force requires special attention from the State. The Russian labour market traditionally has a significant superiority of the average wage level over the living wage and above the minimum wage, which makes these mechanisms not effective in regulating reproductive processes. The existing gap between the average wage and the minimum wage causes imperfect competition in the Russian labour market. This necessitates a review of approaches to the minimum wage and living wage in order to extend these government regulatory mechanisms to labour reproduction processes.

Using data on Wages Council coverage from the United Kingdom New Earnings Survey, the authors examine the impact of mandated minimum wages on wage dispersion and employment in the United Kingdom in the 1980s. They find evidence that a dramatic decline in the toughness of the regulation imposed by the Wages Councils through the 1980s—a decline, that is, in the level of the minimum wage relative to the average wage—significantly contributed to widening wage dispersion over those years. There is, however, no evidence of an increase in employment resulting from the weakening bite of the Wages Council minimum pay rates. Instead, consistent with the conclusions of several recent U.S. studies, the findings suggest that the minimum wage had either no effect or a positive effect on employment.

The minimum wage system is an important means to guarantee the daily life of low-income workers. Through the comparative analysis of the minimum wage system, the minimum wage level and the proportion of the minimum wage standard in the local per capital GDP, average wage and per capital consumption expenditure in five Chinese northwest provinces, it is found that the development process of the minimum wage system in the five northwest provinces is similar, the overall minimum wage level difference is small, but the difference in the province is gradually increasing and the guarantee level for low-income workers needs to be improved.

Introduction. The article examines the trends in the levels of average wages, minimum wages and subsistence minimum, which are extremely important for the analysis of wealth and well-being of the population of Ukraine. The time trends of these indicators are constructed and the regularities of their change during 1996-2020 are established. The Keitz index is calculated and investigated. The dependences of the average wage, the minimum wage and the subsistence level on the gross domestic product are analyzed and established. The values of the values of the mutual correlation function are investigated. Purpose. The purpose of this article is a mathematical and statistical analysis of the dynamics of wages and living wage in Ukraine and the factors influencing them. The task is to study the impact of gross domestic product on the average wage, minimum wage, subsistence level and establish a causal relationship between them using mathematical, statistical and econometric models in order to further predict them and make recommendations on social indicators of living standards. Method. The article uses mathematical and statistical methods and regression-correlation analysis as the main methods of scientific research; time series theory; methods of mathematical modeling. Results. Analyzing the statistical data of indicators of average wages, minimum wages, subsistence level and gross domestic product in Ukraine for 1996-2020, their dynamics is studied. Trend models of wage levels and subsistence level have been built. The general tendency of their growth is noted. Emphasis is placed on the need to use mathematical modeling to study socio-economic indicators of living standards. The Keitz index, which reflects the fight against poverty, is calculated and analyzed. It is noted that during 1996-2009 the subsistence level exceeded the minimum wage. In 2010-2011, the values of the minimum wage slightly exceeded the subsistence level; and in subsequent years, small amounts were observed, until 2017 the minimum wage was not doubled. This positive trend has also been observed in recent years. Econometric models of dependence of average and minimum wage on gross domestic product are presented. The correlation-regression dependence of the subsistence minimum on the gross domestic product is constructed. It is shown that the growth of gross domestic product is accompanied by an increase in social indicators of living standards of the population of Ukraine. The values of the values of the mutual correlation function between the gross domestic product and the levels of wages and subsistence, respectively, are calculated and investigated.

Lone mothers in the UK are a key target group of tax-benefit measures designed to ‘make work pay’. This article assesses how the Conservative–Liberal Democrat Coalition's ‘make work pay’ agenda since 2010 has potentially affected single mothers. It calculates two lone mothers’ incomes and incentives for a range of working hours and wage rates under the Coalition and previous New Labour government. While the Coalition's measures substantially improve the lone mothers’ incentives to work in mini-jobs of fewer than sixteen hours, their incentives to work longer are still weak, if not weaker than under Labour. Furthermore, the financial returns to progressing in work begin to diminish once hours exceed just six at average wage and nine at minimum wage. While tougher conditionality may still push many lone parents to work longer, weak labour demand and reduced employment supports could undermine their abilities to meet increased work expectations.

Abstract The aim of the article is to assess – on the basis of a comparison of Czech and Slovak legislation relating to the conditions of the minimum wage indexation – whether it would be appropriate to use certain aspects of Slovak legislation in the Czech legislation and vice versa. When elaborating the article, some logical methods were used. In order to collect data, important employers were addressed in the South-Moravian Region. A carrying method used during the work was a comparison. Analyses were processed using the data of the Czech Statistical Office, the European Statistical Office and the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs of the Czech Republic. To evaluate the research, the percentage representation of positive and negative responses and Pearson’s Chi-square test were used. The paper presents the results of research whose aim was to get the views of entrepreneurs regarding the minimum wage level and conditions of its indexation. Employers supported the idea of maintaining the institution of the minimum wage. A predominant portion of companies would welcome it if the minimum wage were derived on the basis of an average wage, and the vast majority of companies would welcome the annual indexation of the minimum wage by inflation.
