ABSTRACT. The objective of this research is to learn the effect of shell color and storage length on egg quality. The research was held at the Animal Nutrion Laboratory Departement of Agriculture, Syiah Kuala University. The treatments were shell color 30 SC (dark brown): 30-40 SC (white) with 10 replication and store in 27 0C and 10 0C for 35 days. The observation was taken every 7 days. Parameters measured were foam ability and Haugh Unit by group random sampling design with factorial pattern. The result shows that temperature and storage length significantly effect foam ability but not in haugh unit. Storage temperature and storage temperature at 10 0C show that foam ability is better with the average of 422.31 cm3. Compared to 27 0C with the average of 394.04 cm3. On the other hand shell color has no effect both on foam ability and Haugh Unit. In general, shell color, storage length and storage temperature have no effect on egg quality.

The objective of this study was to investigate the effect of ginger extract addition and refrigerate storage on sensory quality of Tuna through panelist’s perception. Panelists (n=30) evaluated samples for overall appearance and flavor attribute using hedonic scale 1–7. The sample which is more acceptable by panelists on flavor attributes having 3% gingers extract and storage for 3 days. The less acceptable sample on flavor attribute having 0% ginger extract and storage for 9 days. On the other hand, the sample which is more acceptable by panelists on overall appearance having 0% ginger extract without storage treatment. The less acceptable sample on overall appearance having 3% ginger extract and storage for 9 days.

The Cloud storage is the most important issue today. This is due to a rapidly changing needs and a huge mass of varied and important data to back up. In this paper, we describe a work in progress and propose a flexible system architecture for data storage in the Cloud. This system is centered on the Data Manager module. This module provides various functions such as the dispersion of data in fragments, encryption and storage of fragments... etc. This architecture proves to be very relevant. It ensures consistency between different components. On the other hand, it ensures the security and availability of data.

Examples from various harvest regimes, storage regimes, cultivars and different packaging methods are presented to characterize volatile ester differences after cutting and how changes occur in characteristic flavors throughout the postharvest life of certain cut fruit products. In many fresh-cut cantaloupe cultivars and in honeydew, there was a relative increase in nonacetates and coinciding relative decrease in acetates during storage. A similar and consistent nonacetate:acetate ester ratio was conserved in cantaloupe from eastern and western U.S. regions, as well as different cultivars from the same field. Furthermore, similar ratios were observed in many melon cultivars over multiple years from different seasons and growing regions. Since many cultivars exhibited similar trends in 2-year repeated studies, the trend is apparently independent of year and season. Fresh-cut `Gala' apples, on the other hand, displayed a slightly different trend whereby both acetates and nonacetate esters decreased appreciably during storage. The hypothesis is put forward that recycling of esters during storage in certain fresh-cut fruits disturbs the delicate fine balance of characteristic volatiles. Consistently decreasing acetates along with increasing nonacetates could alter the overall perceived desirable flavor attributes during fresh-cut melon storage, even though volatile esters are still abundant.

The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of marigold flower extract and paprika on egg quality of Black Avifran laying hens in different periods of storage. A completely randomized design study with a 3x3 factorial scheme with three diets (control, paprika, and marigold flower extract) and three storage periods (0, 7, and 14 days) was carried out. The following metrics were evaluated: egg weight, yolk weight, shell weight; yolk color, albumen height, specific gravity, and Haugh unit as well as the yolk, shell, and albumen percentage relative to the total weight of the egg. There was no significant interaction between additives and storage time (p > 0.05) for most of the parameters evaluated. The only exception was observed for yolk color, in which the interaction effect between treatments was significant (p < 0.05). The effect of storage time was significant (p < 0.05) for albumen weight, albumen percentage, yolk color, albumen height, specific gravity, and Haugh unit, with reduction of these parameters over the evaluation period. The use of paprika and marigold flower extract in the diets of Black Avifran laying hens does not influence egg quality.

ABSTRAK                                                                        Tujuan penelitian ini mengetahui jenis daun dan lama penyimpanan terbaik pada kualitas telur itik talang benih konsumsi. Rancangan penelitian yang digunakan adalah rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) pola faktorial dengan 2 faktor dan 3 kali ulangan. Faktor pertama yaitu jenis daun (daun sirsak dan jambu biji) dan faktor kedua yaitu lama penyimpanan (0, 15, dan 30 hari). Parameter yang diamati yaitu warna kuning telur, albumen indeks, yolk indeks, dan haugh unit. Data dianalisis menggunakan ANOVA dan perbedaan antara perlakuan diuji lanjut dengan uji DMRT. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahawa tidak ada interaksi antara jenis daun dan lama penyimpanan terhadap warna kuning telur, albumen indeks, yolk indeks, dan haugh unit. Daun sirsak lebih mampu mempertahankan warna kuning telur dibandingkan daun jambu biji (P<0,05), namun tidak berbeda nyata (P>0,05) terhadap albumen indeks, yolk indeks, dan haugh unit. Lama penyimpanan sangat berpengaruh nyata (P<0,01) terhadap warna kuning telur, albumen indeks, yolk indeks, dan haugh unit. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa daun sirsak memiliki kemampuan lebih baik dalam mempertahankan warna kuning telur itik talang benih. Penyimpanan telur sebaiknya dilakukan sampai batas 15 hari karena albumen indeks, yolk indeks, dan haugh unit memiliki mutu 2.Kata Kunci: daun, itik talang benih, kualitas telur, lama penyimpananABSTRACTThe amis of this study to determine the type of leaves and the best storage time for the quality of talang benih duck’s egg consumption. The research was design in factorial completely randomized design with 2 factors and 3 replications. The first factor is type of leaves (soursop and guava) and the second factor is storage time (0, 15 and 30 days). Variables observed were yolk color, albumen index, yolk index, and haugh unit. Data were analyzed using ANOVA and differences between treatments were tested by DMRT test. The results showed that there was no interaction between leaves type and storage time for yolk color, albumen index, yolk index, and haugh unit. Soursop leaves are more able to maintain the color of egg yolk than guava leaves (P <0.05), but not significantly different (P>0.05) to the albumen index, yolk index, and haugh unit. Storage time had strong significant effect (P<0.01) on egg yolk color, albumen index, yolk index, and haugh unit. It is concluded that soursop leaves have a better ability to maintain the color of duck egg yolk. Egg storage time should be carried out up to 15 days because albumen index, yolk index, and haugh unit had quality 2.Key words: egg quality, leaves, storage time, talang benuh duck

The research conducted in order to know farmer perception on goat reproduction in North Lombok District. Farmer groupswereselected by purposive random sampling. Each group represented by 10 respondents. Collected data then tabulated and quantified, interpreted and presented descriptively. The initial populations in the past 5.6 years were 243 (50 males and 193 females), currently remaining458 (340 females and 118 males) excluding those weresold. 80% of respondents know the age of doe’s at the first mating and 88.8% know oestrus signs. 67% of respondents did not know post kidding open days. 100% doe's were naturally mated. 50% respondents stated mating frequenciesfor optimum fertility rate was 1-2 times, 12% said 3-4 times and the remaining 38% did not know. Only 56.7% of respondents knew doe’slength ofpregnancy. Doe’s with twins of two or morekidding were 59.3% and single kid was 40.70%. Almost 100% of respondents know genetically superior bucks. In conclusion, on one hand the perception of respondent's on goat reproduction is relatively low, but on the other hand the goat production was relatively high. To accelerate the increase in productivity of goats in North Lombok Regency, was recommended that local goats are crossed with superior goats such as Ettawa goats or Boer goats

Abstract: The objective of this work was to evaluate the influence of the inclusion of soybean (Glycine max) gum in the diet of laying hens on egg production, egg external and internal quality, and economic viability, as well as of temperature and storage time on the oxidative stability of eggs. One hundred and eighty 40-week-old Lohmann-LSL layers were fed 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5% soybean gum in the diet. In the economic analysis, the average productive performance of the layers and the cost of feed were considered. In order to evaluate oxidative stability, eggs were stored at room temperature (~30oC) or refrigerated (5oC) for 0, 7, and 21 days. The inclusion of soybean gum in the diet increased feed intake and also egg production, average weight, and mass. Soybean gum improved external and internal egg quality parameters, but reduced the Haugh unit. Oxidative stability was higher in eggs from hens fed 4% gum, at 5oC, for 21 days; however, the largest economic return was with 1% gum. The inclusion of soybean gum promotes improvements in the production, external and internal quality, and oxidative stability of eggs from commercial laying hens.

A balanced sampling design is a design in which Horvitz-Thompson estimators of population totals for a set of auxiliary variables equal the known totals of these variables. On the other hand, calibration is a technique where the modification of design weights occurs in such a way that the new weights, when applied to auxiliary variables, reproduce, i.e. estimate withouterror, the known totals for these variables. The general idea behind balanced sampling and calibration is thus the same — both techniques tend to reproduce known totals of the auxiliary variables. The purpose of the paper is to describe and compare both techniques, considering them as alternatives in achieving the same goal. More attention was devoted to balanced sampling. The algorithm for selecting a sample was illustrated with two numerical examples. The comparison between balanced sampling and calibration, as alternatives, indicates calibration, but the best strategy is to use both methods simultaneously.

A conservação de sementes de espécies florestais é prática fundamental para o melhor aproveitamento da produção de mudas. Dessa forma, o objetivo deste estudo foi avaliar o efeito de diferentes embalagens, ambientes e períodos de armazenamento de Cedrela odorata L., na conservação da viabilidade e vigor das sementes. As sementes foram submetidas a três períodos de armazenamento (3, 6 e 9 meses) mais testemunha, acondicionadas em saco plástico e de papel, nas condições de geladeira e ambiente natural. O delineamento foi inteiramente casualizado em esquema fatorial, com cinco repetições de 20 sementes. Analisaram-se as seguintes variáveis: a porcentagem de germinação e a formação de plântulas normais. Os resultados indicaram que as sementes armazenadas na condição ambiente natural apresentaram redução drástica na germinação e na formação de plântulas normais ao longo dos períodos de armazenamento, enquanto na geladeira a redução foi menos intensa. Quanto ao tipo de embalagem, não foi constatado efeito, independentemente do ambiente de armazenamento. Concluiu-se que a condição geladeira foi eficiente para preservar a germinação e vigor das sementes de cedro.Palavras-chave:  Sementes florestais; viabilidade; condição de armazenamento; umidade; temperatura. AbstractPackages, environment and storage periods effects in germination and vigor of cedar (Cedrela odorata) seeds in Manaus, AM. Conservation of seeds of forest species is an important practice for the best use of seedlings production. According to that, this research aimed to evaluate effects of different packaging, environments and periods of storage of Cedrela odorata in conservation of viability and vigor of seeds. The seeds had been submitted to three periods of storage (3, 6 and 9 months) plus control, conditioned in plastic and paper, in refrigerator and natural environment conditions. The adopted delineation was entirely casualized in factorial scheme, with 5 repetitions of 20 seeds. It was analyzed the following variables: percentage of germination and formation of normal plantule. Results indicated that seeds stored in natural surrounding condition had presented drastic reduction in the germination and formation of normal plantule throughout storage periods, on the other hand, in refrigerator condition reduction had been less intense. In relation to the kind of packaging it was not identify any effect, independently of storage environment. It revealed that refrigerator conditions were efficient to preserve germination and vigor of cedar seeds.Keywords: Forest seeds; viability; storage conditions; humidity; temperature.

Detectar los inconvenientes que puede encontrar una persona para formar parte de un grupo de voluntariado deportivo es el objetivo planteado, discriminando y contrastando, para ello, entre las opiniones del propio voluntariado deportivo y las del personal profesional remunerado que ha coordinado a grupos de voluntariado. La investigación se ha desarrollado, por un lado, mediante la aplicación de un cuestionario autoadministrado al total de población (251) asistente a los «Cursos de formación para Voluntarios Deportivos de Andalucía», realizados en las diferentes provincias andaluzas en el año 2002, y, por otro lado, a través de otro cuestionario para los profesionales remunerados que trabajan con voluntariado, utilizando un muestreo no aleatorio opinático, a un total de 50 sujetos. Los resultados han puesto de manifiesto la mayor percepción de inconvenientes por parte del personal profesional remunerado, que el propio voluntariado deportivo, sobre las implicaciones de la labor a desarrollar por estos últimos. El voluntariado destaca sobretodo el compromiso temporal que esto supone, mientras que los profesionales hacen mayor insistencia en los aspectos relacionados con la propia organización.Abstract:: To detect the disadvantages that can find a person to be member of a group of sport voluntary is the raised objective, discriminating and contrasting, for it, between the opinions of the own sport voluntary service and those of the remunerated professional personnel who has coordinated voluntary service groups. The investigation has been developed, on the one hand, by means of the application of a self-administrated questionnaire to the total of population (251) attending to the «Courses of formation for Sport Volunteers in Andalusia», made in the different andalusian provinces in 2002, and, on the other hand, through another questionnaire for the remunerated professionals who work with voluntary service, using a non-random sampling opinático, to a total of 50 subjects. The results have shown the greater perception of disadvantages on part of the remunerated professional personnel, who the own sport voluntary service, on the implications of the work to develop at these last ones. The voluntary service emphasizes coverall the temporary commitment that this supposes, whereas the professionals make greater insistence in the aspects related to the own organization.
