In September 2019 a DANA affected the Southeast of Spain with a special impact on the Segura Basin and the Region of Murcia. Heavy rainfall caused widespread flooding, very serious damage and generally affected the whole population. The main objective of this work was to analyse this episode through a follow-up of all the news published in two regional newspapers, La Verdad and La Opinión. To this end, a methodological proposal was made to classify the news according to: the typology of the subject, the relevance of the DANA in terms of frequency and how the news developed. A total of 816 news articles covering 52 days were studied and grouped into 26 subjects. The issues that aroused most interest, were those relating to the solidarity offered and aid provided to those affected, the effects on the Mar Menor (a nearby coastal lagoon); visits by politicians, personalities and their statements; solutions and mitigation measures; evacuations, rescues and displacements. The database analysed allowed us to organise the information into different aspects and in sequence: (i) prevention tasks and warnings prior to the materialisation of a risk situation; (ii) rescues, relief and assistance to persons, and (iii) response, rehabilitation and reconstruction.

Grinding or crushing hard raw materials is usually a primary operation which precedes the follow-up technological processes in a number of industrial sectors. A great variety of machines using different principles of fragmentation are employed in the technology of pulverization. The food industry uses roller mills, in which the main process is the shear grinding. In the animal feed industry impact machines known as hammer mills are often used. In recent years, mills have been employed that use their frontal edges for grinding or crushing during the rotation of one of two adjacent discs. The modern design disc machines used for grinding grain have resulted from long development and their operation has a relatively low noise level with reduced dust. The separation process that occurs in the gap between the active edges of the discs can be described as shear grinding and is currently the subject of attention which is focused on the specific energy consumption and fractional composition of the product of grinding.

The cultivation of spiritual values to learners is a very vital step in shaping the characteristics and character of the human person, because the internalization of spiritual values is closely related to the cultivation of religious values, and is part of the formation of adolescent character as the next generation of religion and nation. This research is to find out the process of planting and internalizing spiritual value education conducted at The Senior high school of Mafaza Institute located in the Maguntapan Bantul area of Yogyakarta, while the type in this study is qualitative with a descriptive approach, while the subject in this study is teachers or teachers at this institution as well as some M.A. Mafaza students. While the data collected passes through the process of interviews, observations and documentation which then the author of the data analysis to draw conclusions. The results of this study show the following: 1). The process of planting and internalizing values and spiritual in this institution is carried out with an understanding of the material in the classes. 2). Then as a follow-up in the form of application in programs and activities such as requiring mandatory congregational prayers, sunnah worship and others, there are also activities such as the loving mosque and the the Adiwiata program. So from there it is seen that all aspects in value and spiritual, namely the aspect of Aqidah and Worship become the center of attention in planting to their students. So that it covers everything, either in the pattern of vertical relationship (Servant-Godnya) or horizontal (Servants and Environment).

More total hip arthroplasty (THA) is performed worldwide and especially in younger and more active patients compared to earlier decades. One of the focuses of THA research in the future will be on optimizing the radiological follow-up of these patients using 2D and 3D measurements of implants position while reducing the radiation dose delivered. Low-dose EOS® imaging is an innovative slot-scanning radiograph system providing valuable information in patient functional positions (standing, sitting and even squatting positions). EOS has been proven accurate and reliable without significant inconvenience caused by the metallic artifacts of implants. The ability to obtain precise data on implant orientation according to the patient posture opens new perspectives for a comprehensive analysis of the pelvic frontal and sagittal balance and its potential impact on implants function and failures. We report our 8 years experience on our first 300 THA patients using this technology routinely for pre and post op evaluation. Our results will be compared and confronted with the actual literature about this innovative technology. We shall especially emphasize our experience about patients with abnormal posture and the evolution of the subject over time, because the phenomenon of an aging spine is frequently associated with the process of aging hips.

ABSTRACT Objective: to investigate the association between frailty with hospitalization and institutionalization in a follow-up study of elderly residents. Method: the follow-up study was performed in 2008 and 2013 with elderly of both genders, aged 65 years and older who were living in the community-dwelling. The sampling procedure performed was probabilistic, with dual-stage clustering. In 2008, 515 elderly people were interviewed and, in 2013, 262. We used the socioeconomic and demographic data, self-reported morbidity, specific data of hospitalization and institutionalization. Frailty was measured by the Edmonton Frail Scale (EFS), and functional capacity through the Functional Independence Measure. Results: we found the mean gross EFS score was higher among resident elderly who were hospitalized and institutionalized and was statistically significant in both investigated years. Conclusion: the confirmation of association between frailty and hospitalization and institutionalization reinforces the importance of the subject, and highlights frailty as an important tool for risk estimates for these adverse events.

Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to investigate the effectiveness of mitigation measures adopted in a scheme of EIA follow-up by examining their performance in reducing geo-environmental impacts in earthwork activities during the Rodoanel southern section construction in São Paulo, Brazil. This environment is fragile in terms of affected watersheds because the highway crosses two important reservoirs that supply most of the metropolitan water demand. Therefore, this research also aims at promoting water quality control. Design/methodology/approach – This study combines complementary sources as evidences in the literature and field checks, tests and monitoring. The methodology was supported by criteria for evaluating the effectiveness of mitigation measures in the case study approach. Findings – The EIA follow-up activities contributed to the maintenance of environmental conditions in the majority of the control points at the end of the construction phase. Water quality parameters were not statistically different before and during the construction of the highway. The choice and arrangement of mitigation measures were successful in ensuring water quality control by avoiding siltation. Practical implications – A robust scheme for designing and evaluating mitigation measures contributes to the improvement of their effectiveness and is pivotal to the success of the EIA follow-up. Originality/value – This case study serves as an example for extending EIA follow-up practice in special to the improvement of the design and evaluation of mitigation measures in similar contexts.

Kidney cysts are quite common in adults. Though small simple renal cysts in an adult over 30-40 years of age are not too unusual, however, if the same cysts are seen in a child, and especially if there are additional findings, then several diagnostic possibilities may come to mind. The role of ultrasound, together with the help of intravenous contrast agents and Doppler mode, are very critical in describing the morphologic features and follow-up of the complex or multiple and bilateral renal cysts. These sonographic signs are occasionally specific for diagnosis, but in many cases sonographic clues should be evaluated together with the other genetic and clinical data to reach diagnosis. The first part of this pictorial essay included the introduction into the subject and the classification of non-genetic cystic renal diseases. The key features for the non-genetic cystic renal diseases are illustrated. In the second part, eye-catching features of genetic cystic renal diseases are demonstrated.

The Mar Menor is a Spanish coastal lagoon of great ecological and economic interest. The agricultural and tourist activities developed in the surroundings of the lagoon, together with the modifications in its channels of connection with the Mediterranean Sea, have notably affected the quality of its waters, which is altering the natural balance of the ecosystem. In this work, an analysis of the density of phytoplankton present in the lagoon between the months of May to December 2017 has been carried out. There, it has been a notable increase in the density of organisms in post-summer samplings, following the recording of higher temperatures, and the presence of Chlorophyceae, Cyanophyceae, Chrysophyceae and nanoplanktonic Cryptophyceae stands out. The data collected indicate a significant increase in the eutrophication process of the lagoon that requires the development of management plans to reduce agricultural discharges and promote the recovery of the lagoon and its native species.

Background: Further development of basic treatment of immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) is still widely discussed by specialists and is the subject of lively discussions. Objectives: to assess the effi ciency of high-altitude climatotherapy in children with chronic ITP for a 5-year follow-up period after annual treatment at high-altitude base. Patients/Methods: The study included 22 children with chronic ITP from 3 to 14 years, the average age was 6.30 ± 1.02 years, and disease duration was 3-8 years. Children were raised to high-altitude base. Treatment duration was 40 days. Results: 22 children received 5 courses of high-altitude climatotherapy. Complete remission was observed in 2 patients with increasing of platelets more than 100×109/L without bleeding. In 18 children an objective response was found in the form of twofold increasing of platelets number, but less than 100×109/L without bleeding; no effect was recorded in 2 children. Conclusions: Repeated courses of high-altitude climatotherapy improve clinical characteristics, significantly increase the number of platelets in the peripheral blood and contribute to remission in children with ITP.
