The double role piston pump based on the symmetrical gear and crank-link-slider mechanism driven by servo motor is innovated, its working principle and technical characteristics are introduced. In this new type of piston pump, the hydraulic cylinder piston is drived, and the velocity can be adjusted, but the flow pulse of a single pump is undoubtedly great. So two piston pumps are adopted, whose velocity are controled by NC, then the variable stepless timing in wide range can be achieved. If the velocity in this two pumps |v1|+|v2|=C (C is a constant), the flow curve of two pumps will be coupled into a straight line, in order to achieve constant flow output without the need of complex and inefficient throttle controlling loops, and there has not any power machines and mechanical parts in high-speed rotation ,and the noise pollution is very low. According to the varied circumstance, the high and low pressure conversion can be achieved when the angle velocity in this piston pump is controlled by the instructions. It is also very easy to achieve the dynamic and intelligent control.

Recently in the research publications an information about a new type of suspended straight‐line 3‐hinge roof structures has appeared. In this sources it was stressed that straight‐line elements is easy to manufacture and erect, roof decking service conditions are good. In the world building practice during last 30 years very effective composite structures were introduced, even hollow concrete‐filled steel tubular members. At this time no information about the application of such members for suspended roofs was obtained. In some sources very simple straight‐line suspended roofs structures were analysed, and for these shapes an effective centrifuged hollow concrete‐filled steel tubular members may be successfully applied. These members do not require additional roof stabilisation. These composite ropes may be attributed to the elements of final flexural stiffness, and they are effective and simple to decrease deflections of a suspended roof. However, for such composite ropes methods of their calculations must be developed. Investigations made into the deformation properties and methods of deflection, definition of straight‐line circular hollow concrete‐filled steel tubular members allows to declare a possibility of useful application of such members as ones of final flexural stiffness in suspended roof structures.

By means of an extended tanh method, a new type of variable separation solutions with two arbitrary lower-dimensional functions of the (2+1)-dimensional nonlinear Schrödinger (NLS) equation is derived. Based on the derived variable separation excitation, some special types of localized solutions such as a curved soliton, a straight-line soliton and a periodic soliton are constructed by choosing appropriate functions. In addition, one dromion changes its shape during the collision with a folded solitary wave.

A new type of non-chisel-edge shallow-drill is developed for machining high manganese steel, which is a typical hard-to-machine material. The marked characteristic of the drill is that the cutting edge is non-chisel-edge, consisting of a section of straight line and a part of curve nearby the center. The characteristics of machining performance of this drill are analyzed. Measures adopted in design for improving cutting performance and prolonging tool life are also presented. Applied example indicates that this new drill has good cutting performances and long life. Compared with common twist drill, the axial thrust cutting force of this tool is reduced 30~50 percent.

This paper introduces a new type of Security Games (SG) played on a plane with targets moving along predefined straight line trajectories and its respective Mixed Integer Linear Programming (MILP) formulation. Three approaches for solving the game are proposed and experimentally evaluated: application of an MILP solver to finding exact solutions for small-size games, MILP-based extension of recently published zero-sum SG approach to the case of generalsum games for finding approximate solutions of medium-size games, and the use of Memetic Algorithm (MA) for mediumsize and large-size game instances, which are beyond MILP’s scalability. Utilization of MA is, to the best of our knowledge, a new idea in the field of SG. The novelty of proposed solution lies specifically in efficient chromosome-based game encoding and dedicated local improvement heuristics. In vast majority of test cases with known equilibrium profiles, the method leads to optimal solutions with high stability and approximately linear time scalability. Another advantage is an iteration-based construction of the system, which makes the approach essentially an anytime method. This property is of paramount importance in case of restrictive time limits, which could hinder the possibility of calculating an exact solution. On a general note, we believe that MA-based methods may offer a viable alternative to MILP solvers for complex games that require application of approximate solving methods.

The relationship between heats of mixing and chemical interactions has been investigated and is now discussed for three liquid binary systems, i. e. diethyl ether-chloroform, nitromethane-sulfuric acid, and isopropanol-isopropylamine. On the basis of a suitable equilibrium model, involving the formation of only one species of intermolecular compounds, equations HM= ƒ (N0Δ) (HM=heat of mixing, N0Δ =mole fraction of component A) are derived. The equations are convenient for representing the experimental data of symmetrical mixing curves, and they also allow us to calculate the thermodynamic quantities of the pertaining equilibrium reactions. Plotting HM versus N0Δ/ (—HM) should give a straight line over the whole concentration range, thus warranting a reliable criterion for the applicability of the equilibrium model. The heats of mixing were measured at 25° and 20°, respectively, using a new type of continuous dilution calorimeter, which supplied a sufficient number of accurate experimental data.

The plane pantograph machine is considered as a significant one which has its own missions including figures copying, sculptural and minting works, and geometric properties such homothety. Moreover, achieving simple mathematical operations such determining the midpoint of a straight line segment with knowing its end points, adding two complex numbers,.. etc. Then, we found a new type of pantograph machine which can make many copies for some figures desired to copied with different magnification factors. Because of the importance of this machine we liked to kinetic and kinematic study about this machine then determining plane domain which this machine can work in and distinguishing two basic positions for this machine.

The article, by the example of livestock products, estimates and analyses the mechanism of price transfer (transmission) among the participants of the agrofood chain (agricultural producers, food processing and trading companies) and discovers abnormalities, imbalances and mismatches of the economic relations development among the stated participants. Straight-line regression with application of least-squares method was built, as well as three linear trend models that allowed to forecast the trends for price change at each administrative and technical stage of the product distribution (production, processing, trade). Quantitative evaluation was held for the price change of the livestock product market, and the time needed for the change. The obtained data confirmed the market “weakness” of agricultural goods producers denying the industrial safety guarantee of the country as a whole.

Benefiting from small incisions, reduced risk of infection, less pain, and fast recovery, minimally invasive surgery has shown tremendous advantages for patients. In these kinds of procedures, remote center-of-motion (RCM) mechanisms play an important role in performing operations through small incisions. Inspired by the Peaucellier–Lipkin straight-line cell, this paper presents the design and verification of a new type of planar two degree-of-freedom (DOF) RCM mechanism. A synthesized planar RCM mechanism is realized by a symmetric linkage actuated by two circular motion generators. The main merit of the proposed 2DOF RCM mechanism is its straightforward kinematics, which results in a simple control scheme. One of the candidate mechanisms, which is simple in structure and easy to fabricate, is intensively investigated. A prototype was built, on which preliminary experiments have been conducted, to verify the feasibility of the proposed new mechanism. The experimental results show that the fabricated 2DOF prototype has a nearly stationary remote center of motion. Therefore, the prototype has potential applicability in robot-assisted minimally invasive surgeries.

Because periodicity is a major indicator of structural organisation numerous methods have been devised to demonstrate periodicity masked by background “noise” in the electron microscope image (e.g. photographic image reinforcement, Markham et al, 1964; optical diffraction techniques, Horne, 1977; McIntosh,1974). Computer correlation analysis of a densitometer tracing provides another means of minimising "noise". The correlation process uncovers periodic information by cancelling random elements. The technique is easily executed, the results are readily interpreted and the computer removes tedium, lends accuracy and assists in impartiality.A scanning densitometer was adapted to allow computer control of the scan and to give direct computer storage of the data. A photographic transparency of the image to be scanned is mounted on a stage coupled directly to an accurate screw thread driven by a stepping motor. The stage is moved so that the fixed beam of the densitometer (which is directed normal to the transparency) traces a straight line along the structure of interest in the image.
