The main purpose of the article is to consider the directions for improving the strategic management of the development of the sanatorium and resort complex (SCC) of the Krasnodar Territory on the basis of highlighting the strategic business areas of the activities of the SCC organizations, which makes it possible to develop growth indicators and consolidated development indicators for the long term to increase the competitive position of the resort business in the Krasnodar Territory, expanding the market of spa services and improving their quality parameters. In the course of the study, the components of the strategic management of the development of the SCC of the Krasnodar Territory were presented, the importance of horizontal ties in the management of business processes of the organizations of the sanatorium complex was determined, and the dynamics of the process of providing sanatorium services by groups of organizations was assessed. The prospective development of the strategic business areas of the CCM was assessed based on the methods of comparative analysis. Strategic segmentation is considered as one of the approaches to strategic management of the Krasnodar Territory health resort complex. The article identifies the main directions of improving the effectiveness of strategic management and achieving target strategic indicators for the development of the SKK Krasnodar Territory.

With the growing need to ensure the security and sustainability of the national economy’s long-term development under unstable macroeconomic conditions, it is of special relevance to comprehend the inequalities being formed in the socioeconomic space of Russia and its regions. The paper aims to explore the trajectories of the socio-economic space’s inequality at the macro- and meso-levels in the Russian Federation, as well as to determine the strategic priorities for managing interregional differentiation. The study presents an integrated approach based on the primacy of the interconnection and interdependence typical of spatial imbalances. The approach implies the assessment of the dynamics of three groups of indicators that characterize the differences in economic and social development of the Russian regions. Scientific ideas about regional and spatial economics, as well as location theory and strategic management constitute the methodological framework of the research. In the study, dialectical, cause-effect and statistical methods are used. We prove that economic and social spaces in Russia often have opposite development priorities, which hampers the effectiveness of government policy. This requires adjusting the strategic management of spatial imbalances aimed at increasing the efficiency of public administration mechanisms and methods, and improving the consistency of development indicators of the country and its regions with long-term socio-economic goals. Having assessed the problems of regulation of the socio-economic development inequalities and performed a discourse analysis of relevant documents, the article develops the key thrusts for improving the system of strategic planning in Russia. The findings add to the development of a scientifically based approach to implementing strategic management of spatial inequalities in the socio-economic development of Russia and its regions.

Operational management of business processes is a key success factor. We reduce tactical level to the two generic concepts: current measures (higher layers) and business processes (the lower layers). For successful execution of business strategy leading companies transform to process-oriented (tactical level) and customer-oriented organizations (strategic level). We propose classification of business processes on criteria. Widening of automated business processes enables companies to become process leaders in the competitive proposition of value to consumers. The BPM concept turns into a long-term business-culture from the tactical level to the level of strategic management. We show the stages of the development of BPM system in the enterprise. In order to achieve operational efficiency benchmarking and operational intelligence are implemented. Within operational intelligence we offer metrics of the four main functional goals.

Subject. This article discusses the issues of development of the Krasnaya Polyana resort area. Objectives. The article aims to assess the competitive ability and attractiveness of this resort area through developing indicators. Methods. For the study, we used a comparative analysis, and factor and ranking score techniques. Results. The article offers original methods to assess the competitiveness of the ski resort area and describes possible directions to increase and improve the competitiveness and attractiveness of ski resorts. Conclusions. Comprehensive development indicators help assess the competitive ability of the ski resort area. Modified expert, sociological, rating, and differential methods contribute to the effective management of the resort area's advantages.

No real improvement in the technological quality of beet has been recorded over the last 15 years in Northern Italy. Among the possible explanations for the quality stagnation is that the traditional formulae cannot correctly differentiate between sugarbeet varieties which produce thick juice of very high purity. This seems to be connected with the role of potassium. The use of a standard purification procedure gives reliable and accurate data which is immediately comparable with the factory data. Research projects on medium/long term storage are currently being performed by Co.Pro.B., Italy, in cooperation with Syngenta and Beta. Up to now the results have shown that storage of sugarbeet in autumn time in northern Italy is possible provided that suitable varieties and proper handling of the roots are employed. Results obtained in the storage trials are reported. Correlations have been found between quality parameters (purity, color and lime salts) of the purified juice with the glucose content of the raw juice. An interesting correlation is reported between purified juice purity and raw juice purity.

Corporate social responsibility (CSR) has become a vital element for building a long-term relationship with a company’s stakeholders. Different dimensions of a company’s social initiatives in terms of internal and external CSR activities influence the satisfaction of employees with the purpose of improving the CSR application. The aim of this research is to examine the level of employees’ awareness of the implementation of CSR in Serbian and Russian companies. A comparative analysis between these two countries was carried out in order to perceive the differences in attitudes of employees, their job satisfaction, and consequently the implementation of CSR. The hypotheses of the developed model were tested by using the Multi-group Confirmatory Factor Analysis. The obtained results offered several implications for scholars and practitioners that should be considered when formulating and implementing CSR actions.

ABSTRACTAs the debate throughout the eighties has concluded, the efforts of governments to intervene at the firm level has largely been disappointing. Using two examples drawn from the British experience, Rover and Inmos, this paper offers an analysis as to why the Government has encountered difficulties when it has sought to intervene in a strategic fashion. Essentially, public policy makers lack adequate mechanisms to intervene effectively in technology-based companies. Locked out of the knowledge base of the firm, inappropriate financial control is imposed which reinforces the ‘outsider’ status of the Government. Having addressed the limitations of strategic intervention, the paper, drawing on the comparative experience of other countries, then goes on to address how this policy boundary might be pushed back in the long term.
