<p><em>Spiritual leaders are leaders who influence people led by inspired, enlighten, awaken, enabling, and empowering through the approach of spirituality or religious ethical values. This research was conducted in three boarding students, in student boarding Ulul Albab, Ulul Yaqin and Ulul Hikam in Malang, East Java, using a qualitative approach. This study was designed wearing a multi-site study. Once the data as a whole has finished checking, the data collected were analyzed, with analysis of the site as well as inter-site analysis. From the research result shows that: (1) Perspective spiritual leadership is a boarding student. (2)Spirituality actualization of<strong> </strong>leadership in the assembly caregivers (3) Typology of leadership tends to behavior leadership of participative colleguelike – democratic - spiritual religion (4) Decision-making (5) Settlement of individual conflicts (6) The development team (7) Variety of spiritual leadership in organizational culture (8) The value system of spiritual leadership, and (9) There are several obstacles and solutions in spiritual leadership at the boarding (pesantren) students.             <strong></strong></em></p><p> </p>

The development of sharia-based hotels has become a popular business and it is believed that the development of sharia hotels will experience a drastic increase due to the level of business awareness of sharia concepts. This study aims to improve employee job satisfaction through spiritual leadership and Islamic organizational culture. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach. The unit of analysis is employees who work at Sharia Hotels in Padang. The results showed that partially Spiritual Leadership variables had a positive and significant effect on Job Satisfaction and Islamic Organizational Culture variables had a positive and significant effect on Job Satisfaction variables. Simultaneously the Spiritual Leadership and Islamic Organizational Culture has a positive and significant effect on Employee Job Satisfaction with an adjusted R2 value of 0.204 This shows that the magnitude of the influence of the Islamic Organizational Spiritual Leadership and Culture on the variable Job satisfaction is 20.4%.

Toward leadership crisis that crashed the nation of Indonesia, one of thefactors contributors come from universities, concerning Higher Education is anursery area of society and the national leaders. To overcome the crisis, it needed torepair the leadership models that are able to change and improve social and nationallife. The mandate of the university is shaping and sharpening thinking of thelecturers, students, and alumni to always siding, thinking and acting for the benefitand improvement of the surrounding communities. One alternative models ofleadership that are relevant to college is spiritual leadership.Spiritual leadership has been tested and researched by Louis W. Fry ( 2003)along with the comrades in the context of different organizations and the resultsshow the possibility of the application of this theoretical model for various types oforganizations. According to Fry spiritual leadership is the incorporation of thenecessary values, attitudes and behaviors to motivate intrinsically oneselves andothers to be such a way so that they have a sense of spiritual defense through the callof duty and membership.Spiritual leadership model is studied by the author in STAIN Purwokerto, asIslamic educational institutions which incidentally has been practicing spiritualvalues in their environment. The study was conducted using qualitative research andcase study approach.Spiritual leadership in STAIN Purwokerto is constructed based on threeimportant things: First, the existence of spiritual values that were held by leaders andserve as an ideology or belief to motivate himself and others. Spiritual values arevalues such are togetherness, belief or determination, and obeying the rules. Second,building tradition of spiritual leadership that is reflected in the actions taken byleaders in achieving the vision to be achieved by STAIN Purwokerto. The habitualprocess is done by sticking to spiritual values carried. Then it is implemented byissuing flagship programs supported by strategic policies carried out intensively sothat it becomes a regular agenda of the academic community and staff as well as toproduce a healthy organizational culture and quality. Third, organizational culture isfostered by building a dynamic atmosphere, full of family-like-feeling, cooperation,open and respectful in terms of spiritual, intellectual and professional. The efforts aremade from simple things and daily life by providing deep meaning so that it can beused as a driver towards the direction of progress .

This study used a qualitative approach which aims to find the process of internalization of the character education value through sumbang duo baleh  on the Minang students in Purwokerto. The results showed:  (1) Students Minang know and understand twelve ethics contained in sumbang duo baleh. (2) Through the student community the Minang value trying preserved and maintained as a manifestation of their love of Minang culture. (3) To actualize the ethical values on the basis of daily awareness of the positive values contained in sumbangduo baleh so that they can distinguish between good and bad. (4) Due to the openness of education for women can be a net gain as well as challenges to face the modernization and become a factor of a shifting values for Minangkabau students, therefor understanding and applicating of sumbang duo baleh became faded.

This article advocates that research is lacking on the connection between leadership theory and social network theory. To date, little empirical research has been conducted on leadership and social networks. Thus, the proposition of this article goes beyond traditional leadership models to advocate for a fuller and more integrative focus that is multilevel, multi-component and interdisciplinary, while recognizing that leadership is a complex function of both the organisational leaders and the followers who perform tasks, all of which subsequently leads to decision making qualities. Indeed, the current leadership model focuses on leadership behaviour and the ability to gain followers mutuality, to achieve decision making quality involving the integration of leadership and social network theories. Given the apparent mutable palette of contemporary leadership theory, this emergent construct of the leadership paradigm can expand the poles of the leadership continuum and contribute to a richer and deeper understanding of the relationships and responsibilities of leaders and followers as they relate to decision making qualities. This new construct, which is termed prophetic leadership, explores the literature of the life experiences of the prophet in the ‘Abrahamic Faith’ religion. Drawing on a priori links between the personality trait and spiritual leadership that has recently garnered the interest of scholars, the present study asserts a normative leadership theory that links the personal quality of a leader, posture and principal (based on the Prophet’s leadership behaviour) to synergy and decision making quality. Altruism is proposed to enhance relationships between leadership behaviour and decision making quality. For future research, much work needs to be done specifically aiming to (a) achieve greater clarity of construct definitions, (b) address measurement issues, and (c) avoid construct redundancy.

In this paper empirical finding from a study conducted at an aerospace company is compared to theory regarding Experience Feedback (EF), Lessons Learned (LL) and Decision Making (DM). The purpose with the study was to examine how EF within the organization was conducted and what problems and possibilities that was seen. A qualitative approach was taken and interviews and a workshop was conducted. The empirical findings show that EF exist on different levels within the organization but current feedback processes are currently leaning more towards archiving and storing than knowledge sharing and learning. Also passive dissemination approaches are mostly used whereas active dissemination within the correct context is needed The aim with this paper is to discuss issues and empirical findings that should be considered when creating work methods and systems that support learning by EF and LL dissemination.

ABSTRACT Purpose: This article aims at explaining how a decision is made in the first management level, within five different organizations, from different origins - American, Brazilian and Chinese - in different branches of activity. Originality/value: This is an original work, since it goes beyond the frontiers of knowledge about the subject researched, both for its approach and for its practical usefulness in the day-to-day of the decision makers, being useful for both professionals - and decision making - and for companies - on how to improve the decision-making capacity of their managers. Design/methodology/approach: Fifty managers were interviewed, through the application of a qualitative exploratory research, with the collection of data through semi-structured interviews and content analysis as data analysis and treatment technique. Findings: One may conclude that the decision-making of the first level decision-making managers is more rational. Also, the organizational culture, among the studied variables is the one with the greater impact in the way this management level makes the decisions. This influence of the organizational culture contains three important elements: 1. the need of the manager to act procedurally, using the rules and standards of the company, 2. the use of supporting tools for the decision-making and 3. the learning from the current relationship - or from the past one - with their peers. To go deeper in the theme, we suggest the analysis of the influence of gender in decision-making, under the focus of rationality or intuition, in the first level of the managerial function of the organizations.

In the past, women migrants are considered as passive migrants following their parents or husbands. However, the increasing number of Indonesian women migrating to work abroad, even outnumbering men, suggests the importance of understanding the reasons underlined their movements. This article examines the decision-making process of working abroad among the returned Indonesian women migrants. A quantitative approach was used to analyze secondary data from several government institutions. Also, the qualitative approach was utilized to understand the migration decision-making process. The study was conducted in Cilacap District, one of the major labor migrant sending districts in Indonesia. The result showed that women have no other choice than working abroad, mainly due to the economic reason. Moreover, the initiative to work abroad commonly comes from the women themselves, while other family members, especially father and husband, only give their consent. It can be said that women are more autonomous and self-assured when deciding to work abroad.

This study examines the educational foundation's organizational decision making model that is the influence of accounting information and organizational culture on decision making. This research is a quantitative study with descriptive and inferential analysis. The sample of this study was 72 Catholic education foundations in Indonesia, which were tested by Partial Least Square (PLS) based analysis and data processing methods with the Smart PLS 3.0 program. This study obtains some empirical evidence, namely, first, accounting information significantly influences decision making. These results are consistent with the theory that the main purpose of the foundation's financial statements is to provide relevant information to meet the foundation's internal and external interests to help decision makers make the best decisions for the organization. Second, organizational culture significantly influences decision making. This result is in line with organizational culture theory which states that organizational culture is a value that is used as a reference in all decisions and actions of members of the organization and that reflects the goals, identity, and standard of evaluation of everything in the organization. So it was concluded that the best decision was a decision made based on accounting information and organizational culture at a Catholic education foundation in Indonesia

This article presents a phenomenon of ritual dynamics, which Langer et al. (2006) called “transfer of ritual,” and the manner in which it influenced the “transfer of spiritual leadership.” The article focuses on old spiritual leaders (kessoch) of immigrants from Ethiopia in Israel and their role in the Seged ritual. The Seged is a pilgrimage holiday of the Jews of Ethiopia, celebrated on November 29. It is a day of fasting, purification and prayer, during which the spiritual leaders read from the Torah and prayed for redemption. The findings show that since the early 1980s, the kessoch, who were excluded by the religious establishment, were pushed aside from their status in determining the meaning and character of the Seged. Since the 1990s, young social-political leaders, who were the dominant stream in the community, led changes in the Seged. The intergenerational role inversion in conducting the Seged had significant implications for the contents of the ritual, its structure and the kessoch’s status.
